Sassy-mouthed Stevie Devore has always had a crush on the local fire chief. Gorgeous silver fox, Evan Paige, is way out of Stevie’s league, however, not to mention the chief has always been a ladies’ man, but when Stevie turns twenty-one, he decides he’s tired of only daydreaming about Evan. He wants a real taste of that sugar daddy, even if it means turning the flirt factor up a notch or ten to … to make it happen.
This 36k word novella has pee-in-your-pants humor, peel-the-paint-off-the-walls steam, and a smidgie-poo of hand-on-chest swooning.

I adored this sweet read with its longing and sassy banter, brilliantly written and soooo much sizzle. Fantastic characters and the best dialogue, a truly fabulous read.

I really enjoyed this book. I thought Stevie and Evan were great together, yes their love story was insta-love but that’s part of the course with Novellas so I would’ve loved for them to get a full story but still a good read. Stevie has interested me since he was first introduced in Nico and West’s book Facing West as he was just so unapologetically himself. I loved Stevie and Sassy’s friendship, total friendship goals and when their together you totally don’t know what they’d get up to or what would come out of their mouths. Evan helps take some of the burden off Stevie’s shoulders with working multiple jobs to help support his mum and sister but he didn’t just come in and take over, him and Stevie discussed everything about the plan going forward as a true partnership should be despite the massive age gap. What I didn’t like is that his mum got redemption with little to no repercussion even after treating Stevie like sh*t his whole life, treating her eldest son like he could do wrong even when he was constantly b*at up Stevie because he was flamboyant from brith, as well as gay and she even left her preteen daughter Willow at home by herself to do god only knows what while Stevie was at work at one of his multiple jobs to basically support them all so they have a roof over their heads. I’m looking forward to reading Saint’s story next. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
Short, sweet, funny, and sexy novella about the vibrant, Stevie Devore, and stoic fire chief, Evan Paige. I actually liked these two together and was excited about them. However, this was a bit too fast-paced from Evan seeing Stevie as a kid(well he actually WAS a kid when they initially meet), to all of a sudden this lusty need when Stevie is old enough, and then forever love before Stevie can even catch up. Stevie has no clue that his crush that is twenty years older is apparently crushing and lusting after him too. So there is little relationship development and they are all of a sudden in the thick of it. Stevie is all over the place with his emotions and behavior. He has a lot of things going on and he sometimes takes his stress out on those around him. Sometimes has personality is cute and fun, and other times almost annoying. I admired Evan for wanting to help and protect him, but it really did move at breakneck speed. And it was a bit odd that no one seemed to make a big deal about the twenty-year age difference or their whole opposites-attract vibe. But it is a fun little edition to the series.
I’ve been wondering about Stevie and I am not disappointed in his story. He is so much deeper than he appears in previous books. He and Evan are so different but their romance is beautiful and believable. I laughed and cried and enjoyed every minute of it.
Such a good story.
A flirty, colorful twink and an older Fire Chief? Sparks will fly!
Welcome back to Hobie, Texas; where the men are hot and the gay population is everywhere. I have read the series, so I can say this…I love Stevie! With his purple hair and unfiltered mouth, Stevie is one of a kind. The prologues where he meets Evan Paige are so poignant. This story follows Stevie as his responsibilities balloon out of control. The attraction bertween now Chief Paige & Stevie is as intense as it is inevitable. Come, join them on their way to HEA. It’s sweet, sexy, funny, and totally fulfilling. You will love this book!
Please read the rest of the books in this series. You will be glad you did. I can’t wait to read the next book.
This book contains adult themes and language, mm sex and is intended for mature readers only.
Hilarious! Loved Stevie. This is also excellent in audio!
Lucy Lennox + May/December = I’m in love.
This was short and sweet ~ and quite the deal on Insta-Freebie (now Prolific Works) for FREE! (Updated 10/27/19: this is currently available on KU)
What I enjoyed about this was that while the relationship moved quickly, it wasn’t insta-love. Evan & Stevie have known each other for YEARS.
Evan is super protective of Stevie without intentionally steamrolling him.
I’m with a few other reviewers that this Stevie felt a little different than he did in previous books. Maybe because we’re getting more time and all sides of him. It was OK ~ but somewhat jarring sometimes.
I’m am looking forward to seeing them cameo in future Wilde books.
Yes! Stevie’s book, I’ve been waiting for this fun loving guys book since West and Nico. I love Stevie’s personality and his genuine kindness for everyone around him. I was hoping Chief Paige would lean more toward the man side of his bi and getting together with Stevie was the best. I love how we got a glimpse into how they met and when Evan went from seeing Stevie as the kid he met to the man he loved. This novella was everything!
I don’t want to give anything away but parts of it made me laugh out loud. Stevie is such a great character, full of drama and sass.
I love the author! She brings the characters to life on a fun way! I end up laughing so hard while reading her books, she is great mixing comedy with serious in her story lines. Also keeping updates on past characters in the series in each book!
I was looking forward to this book because Stevie is such a dear, dear character in a series where it might be easy to get shoved to the background. It speaks to the talent of the writer when their fandom is so enamored with a “side character” that they demand to read his book and in Flirt we get that. Stevie is fun and sweet and so beautifully drawn that you just can’t help but love him, wish he was your BFF and want him to find his forever and in the equally beautiful character of Evan he does. Praise the lord and pass the biscuits it’s a heck of a ride 🙂
