Selene Ravenwood, once the heir to House Ravenwood, is now an exile. On the run and free of her family’s destiny, Selene hopes to find the real reason her family was given the gift of dreamwalking. But first she must adapt to her new life as wife to Lord Damien Maris, the man she was originally assigned to kill. While adjusting to her marriage and her home in the north, her power over dreams … dreams begins to grow. As the strongest dreamwalker to exist in ages, her expanding power attracts not only nightmares but the attention of the Dark Lady herself.
With a war looming on the horizon and a wicked being after her gift, Selene is faced with a choice: embrace the Dark Lady’s offer, or search out the one who gave her the gift of dreamwalking. One path offers power, the other offers freedom. But time is running out, and soon her choice will be made for her.

Very much enjoying this series! Flight of the Raven takes the tension and intrigue of Mark of the Raven and offers a glimpse into the turmoil of learning of what Selene’s dream walking gift is capable.
Lady Selene finds herself adjusting to life by the sea, surrounded by strangers, and running from a darkness that chases her in her dreams. The light is always just out of reach, but maybe it’s not that the light is running from her. Maybe she’s afraid to reach the light and what that might mean.
While Selene struggles to learn who she is in this new world, her mother and sister (whose conflicted nature is choked by jealousy) plot and plan how they will exact their revenge. It won’t be by killing Selene. No. Lady Ragna’s power is dwindling, and the Dark Lady has seen the writing on the wall. She wants Selene back, but the cost will mean the death of the Lord of House Maris. Lord Damien has discovered the real root of Selene’s gift. In the meantime, Selene’s gift (or is it a curse?) begins to affect the people of the castle in unexpected and often unpleasant ways. What if her flight from Rook Castle has only brought the darkness to the people of House Maris? From beginning to end, the 2nd book in the Ravenwood Saga is the building of the catalyst for what will come: war.
I loved the romance between Selene & Damien as well as how Morgan L. Busse approaches the discord between light and dark, hope and despair. While there is terrible sadness at the end of this book, there is also a renewed hope. And I love stories of hope. We are not lost yet. The last book comes out next year, and I’m definitely going to be picking it up!
I’d recommend this series to teens and above who enjoy fantasy and sweet romance!
I think I enjoyed this book even more than I enjoyed book 1! The plot thread pertaining to the younger sister really ramped up the tension, and I loved watching the hero and heroine’s love story develop–so sweet and poignant. I also liked the redemptive elements woven throughout the story. Definitely a keeper of a story, and I’m looking forward to book three!
BRILLIANT! Flight of the Raven is an epic adventure! The invitation to “know the Light” has been extended to us all. It’s not a journey for the faint of heart. Lady Selene encounters much opposition on her journey. Her determination and courage is admirable. An encounter with the Light is worth ALL the resistance one may face. Light ALWAYS overcomes darkness!
Recommend to readers who enjoy clean fantasy.
I purchased a copy directly from Mrs. Busse. All views expressed are my honest opinion.
Book number two was even better than number one. I loved getting to know the main characters in this story and really watch their relationship grow. This story kept my attention and was such a pleasure to read. I adored this whole trilogy.
It’s hard to put into words how much I love this story. I enjoyed the first book in the Ravenwood Saga but there was something about this second one which utterly captivated me. I love the journey Lady Selene takes to discovering who she is, her purpose in life and how much bigger God’s dream is for her than the one she’s been brought up to believe in. I wrote quotes from this one in my Bible and find myself constantly encouraged and challenged by it. The romance is pretty sweet too, but, in a very rare occurrence, I actually liked Selene’s journey more than the romance. Which is saying a lot!
This book was an epic continuation of the first book. If you haven’t, you really must start with Mark of the Raven. This book transitions so well from it. I knew I loved the first book, but I couldn’t believe how many details I remembered from it, and I can’t wait for Cry of the Raven. This series is wonderful. I absolutely love Selene and Damien! And storyline, plot, and setting are spectacular!
Loved this book as we begin to find out more about the history of Ravenwood and the other houses. Very intriguing events as the story continues in this book.
Morgan Busse has converted me to the genre of fantasy! This series is so good! If possible, I think I loved Flight of the Raven even more than Mark of the Raven. This story, without leaving us with a major cliffhanger, sets us up perfectly for Cry of the Raven. I can’t wait to see how this series ends.
What I loved most about this story is that it really focused on character development and the relationship between Selene and Damien. Their relationship developed at a perfect and believable pace. I also loved the action and tense moments in this story. I was literally on the edge of my seat and was flipping the pages as fast as I could to see what would happen! There were also twists and turns I totally didn’t see coming.
I am so looking forward to Cry of the Raven. I love this world and the characters that Morgan Busse has built. I’ll be sad to see this series end.
What a satisfying book! Early on there were a few slower moments, but it just kept blooming better and better. Yes, I know there’s another story in the trilogy, but Flight of the Raven delivered a fulfilling conclusion, with all the feels and depth I read for.
Flight of the Raven begins right where Mark of the Raven left off, and I immediately slipped back into the storyline. There’s no “second book slump” here! Busse crafted Selene and Damien’s love story in a way that is realistic and tender. She also kept me on the edge of my seat as Selene searched to uncover the true meaning behind her gifting. The struggle between “the Light” and “the Dark Lady” points readers to the real-world conflict between God’s salvation and the Devil’s warped imitation. Though the ending was marked by sadness (no spoiler), it was still satisfying as the characters prepared to face their greatest threat yet. I can’t wait for book three!
I can’t even begin to tell you how much I absolutely loved this book. It’s everything I was hoping for and so much more. I didn’t think it could top Mark of the Raven, but it did. I’d give it more than five stars if I could.
This story is very much about Selene’s journey from the darkness to the light. Fighting her way out the darkness she grew up in, the only way of life she’s known, and finding her true purpose in the Light. With the help of her new husband Lord Damien Maris, she’s seeing the world in a whole new way. Leaving her home in the Magyr Mountains and going to Nor Esen is such an eyeopener for Selene. The way Damien treats his people with kindness and honor and the amount of respect they show him in return is so different from the fear and terror her mother instilled in her own people. It’s such a refreshing change. I loved watching Selene discover her true self.
There was such a beautiful and powerful message in this novel. It took my breath away and brought tears to my eyes. I know it’s early in the year to be saying this, but Flight of the Raven will definitely be making my best of the year list. I highly recommend this series to everyone, even if you’re new to fantasy. It’s beyond amazing.
It was lovely reading how Selene and Damien’s relationship developed. Ironically, the character I empathised most with was Amara.
I LOVED this book! Taking up right where book #1 (Mark of the Raven) left off, I was IMMEDIATELY drawn into the struggle, adventure and beauty of this incredible story. The characters are deep and complex and so unpredictable! Couple that with a reluctant and oh-so-tender romance and you’ve got the makings of a powerfully captivating book! From the moment I picked this novel up, I COULD NOT put it down! It was THAT good!
In this story, Damien and Selene both have to learn to trust the Light with their fears and follow the path he has set for them.
What a powerful allegory and a delightful read this story turned out to be! I’m looking forward to the next book in the series, “Cry of the Raven”, and can hardly contain my excitement for and anticipation of what will happen next! Bravo, Ms. Busse! You’ve successfully gotten yourself a lifelong reader in me!
Good thing I didn’t break my book gripping it that last 100 pages or so.
What a turn of events! Like whew buddy! Prepare yourself!
I struggled with starting Flight of the Raven because I had a *really* hard time connecting with Selene. It wasn’t until I kept reading that I realized how well the author wrote her character. She’s seemingly so cold to me, though she’s not really anywhere near that. Her growth in this story deeply reflects that on so many levels it left my heart aching. I’m VERY excited to see her continuing journey in book three as I think it’s going to be something deep and powerful.
I also continued to love Damien’s character so much. And in fact, I can finally answer questions like “What character(s) is most like you?” or “What character(s) can you most relate to” by answering with Damien! I related to him so much in book one and only continued to relate to him in such a personal and heartfelt way. Things he told or shared with Selene reminded me of what I would say and just felt a joy to so deeply to relate to a character this strongly.
Lastly, I’ll just quickly say (since this review is already so long) that I loved the marriage aspect in this story. It was fantastic! We definitely need more fictional stories like this, one of showing love bloom and couples desiring to know one another.
Overall, I was moved by how this story affected me. I wasn’t quite expecting a roller coaster of emotions, but I enjoyed it and can’t wait to read more of Selene’s story!

She made her choice… Now she must pay for it…
Flight Of The Raven. Where to start? I was a bit dubious when I started the first book in The Ravenwood Saga, I mean, my opinion on YA fantasy can easily go either way. But I LOVED it! And as soon as I turned the last page I found myself highly anticipating the next book. A few months later, enter author Morgan L. Busse’s brand new release Flight Of The Raven. Was it as good as the first book? It was a little different as much of the plot figures around Selene and Damien having to adjust to life together and learning to trust each other. But the answer to the question is an unequivocal YES! And now that I’ve finished it I keep thinking that I just can’t wait months for the next release! But, I do have to wait….very impatiently…wait.
As I’ve said, YA fantasy fiction is not always my first choice but I absolutely do not regret giving Morgan L. Busse’s The Ravenwood Saga a chance. The author’s writing style is very immersive, conjuring up vivid mental pictures with simple black ink on white paper.
So, prepare for adventure in both the waking and night realms. Prepare for danger and death. Prepare for the epic battle between Light and darkness over a young woman’s soul. And mostly, prepare to be unable to put the book down and to soar within the pages of Flight Of The Raven…

I AM FEELING SOO MANY EMOTIONS!
I loved the characters and the story line in the first book, but this one might take the “favorite” spot.
The first book dealt a lot with WORLD building and “Flight of the Raven worked on CHARACTER building. We’re getting the see THEM. Their fears, their faults, their strengths and a snippets of what’s to come. I’m really enjoying where the author is taking this story!
The author does an amazing job grabbing you and pulling you into the story. The pages fly by without you even realizing it.
Pro tip: NEVER get comfortable where you are in the story! The author will pull the rug out from underneath you in snap.
I’m VERY excited to see how she weaves and finesses the 3rd book! My heart is already breaking when I think of this series ending, I’m so invested in these characters.
I can’t say too much because “SPOILERS”, but I can say that the author wrote a story that will touch those that hurting and lost. I have a feeling many people will be able to connect with Damien and Selene and what they feel.
We are ALL special to God, no matter how much darkness you think you have in your past. He is much greater and brighter than it all!
“Again Jesus spoke to them, saying, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will not walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” John 8:12
I rated it a 5/5 stars!

Wow! This intense series picks up right where Mark of the Raven left off. Selene left her family home to save Damien and finds herself still in the middle of intrigue, murder, and secrets.
I love this series. It is a war between the light and the dark. The House of Ravenwood has operated in the dark for centuries. They are all about power and gain. Selene learns the difference between light and dark and the warmth found in the light. She learns of the good in people and that a ruler does not need to rule with “an iron fist.”
Flight of the Raven was hard to put down. Selene and Damien’s story kept me turning the pages. They are strong and better together. I would suggest that you read Mark of the Raven first. They do need to be read in order. I’m so glad that I found this series and I am anxiously anticipating the next!
This book contains non-graphic violence and Christian themes.

I knew going in that this book was going to be fantastic from the way book one ended. I mean wowza. And it didn’t disappoint.
I love character driven stories and this is certainly one. I adore Selene and Damien. They were like family and I didn’t want anybody to be mean to them. And I didn’t want any disrespect on Taegis either, counselor, guardian, and matchmaker.
Like in the first book, I really enjoyed the world building and details of the political families and their houses.
Where the first book was much more fantasy, this was much more romance. I do wish that there was some more action, and the ending was a bit anticlimactic. Still I was never bored and the next book looks like it will more than make up in the action department.
Content:
Not much, a fade to black scene between a married couple as well as insinuations of their relationship. Mild violence and some slightly creepy demonic stuff (as showed in contrast to the Light- it never bothered me but it might make more sensitive readers uncomfortable).
This was a solid second installment in this series. I am invested in this world and these characters’ happiness. I can’t wait for book three!
I received a copy of this novel from the publisher. I was not required to post a positive review and all views and opinions are my own.
This book had more action and setting changes. I found the descriptions and details about the two religions very interesting. I liked how the two Forces represented God and Satan. Normally when God is referenced in fantasy, it pulls me out of the story, but not with this story. I also liked that Damian and Selene finally fall in love. I grew to like Selene more in this one. She is more assertive. 4 1/2 stars. Full review is at my website.
I received these books complimentary as a participant of the Prism book tour. I was not required to give a positive review. All of the opinions I have expressed are my own.
Flight of the Raven continues Morgan L Busse’s The Ravenwood Saga. Selene Ravenwood is now in exile in the north and is, also, newly married to the man she was supposed to have killed, Lord Damien Maris. She is finding more and more about her gift of dreamwalking, which brings out the Dark Lady. Selene must find out where she belongs before it is too late.
Flight of the Raven is a pretty good read. I enjoyed the first book of the saga, Mark of the Raven, and this one does not disappoint. I think i enjoyed this one even more! I do want to caution to the reader that it would be best to read this saga in order. It was great learning more about Damien in this one. I was intrigued with the story and I had no problem having it read in one sitting.
Flight of the Raven gets four and a half stars from me. I can not wait to get my hands on the the third installment from The Ravenwood Saga.
I received this book from the publisher. This review is 100% my own honest opinion.
