I can’t get enough of this fabulous series. Is just absolutely brilliant. Can’t wait for the Audible Version of it!!
Tyler and Maddie’s story continues in this 3rd installment of the fabulous series Original Sin. Their journey is full of mystery, thrilling suspense, intrigue, action, angst and hot scorching passionate scenes! The unique connection and chemistry between Tyler and Maddie are of the charts and is just getting stronger.
Maddie just got tougher and is ready to exact her revenge. So things are about to get crazy. The twists and turns will keep you totally enthralled throughout the story!
The story is beautifully well-written, with an unexpected plot, full of adventurous action, twists and turns, Tyler’s humor, and hot scorching passionate scenes. All the characters are well developed, interesting, believable and very compelling.
JA Huss and Johnathan McClain presents one of the most exceptional stories, I have read this year. Their descriptive writing has the power to evoke sounds, texture, tastes, heat and everything else; allowing me to experience every emotion through Tyler and Maddie, who are still struggling with the demons of their past.
I want to say so much but I don’t want to give any spoilers away.
If you haven’t started this series, then what are you waiting for?
I highly recommend that you do.
This has been my favorite book of all this chaos……….
It’s bad enough trying to figure out Julie’s thoughts. Now you add Johnathan to the mix and I can’t keep up. It’s like being on the biggest scariest ride of your life. Wanting to get off but wanting to just ride it one more time. LOL!!! So much happened in this book but I can’t tell you because I don’t want to give anything away. Just know that you should just read it to find out for yourself. I do love how Maddie’s character is growing throughout the series. Also the connection that Tyler and Maddie have. I can’t wait to see how much more Huss and McClain are going to put them through in the final book.
Wow. Holy hell. Oh man…. each book just keeps getting better and better, more intense, more explosive, just more everything!
Maddie and Tyler are deep into trying to figure out how to solve this Carlos Castillo problem when a solution presents itself to them. Only, it might not benefit THEM as much as it’s going to benefit “the man” aka the DEA. But hey, what is one civilian casualty if the government gets what they need? Maddie agrees to help them, because deep down she feels like this is what she’s supposed to do. Maybe this is her purpose in life, her chance to finally do something right. But with her track record of every endeavor she’s launched going bad, will this be the one time things actually go right?
Tyler is beside himself over this whole scheme. Which leads to even more internal dialogue, which is sometimes hilarious but oftentimes very poignant. He puts his own plan into motion when Maddie doesn’t contact him as promised. The saying, “fortune favors the brave” kept repeating in my head while reading. Tyler was nothing if not brave during this part of the story. I was not, with my heart in my throat and my stomach in knots, waiting to see what was going to happen.
What resonated so strongly during everything happening was, what a united front Maddie and Tyler have become, which I don’t think even they realized until they were in the thick of it. Both are headstrong and resilient, and as they are each doing what needs to be done to get out of this mess, their thoughts are of each other, and how desperate they are to be together again.
Some pretty heavy shit happens (again) and it involves fire (again) and Tyler (again) and I was literally holding my breath at certain parts. I wasn’t sure I was going to make it through it, but I did and now I’m dying to see how this whole story is going to wrap up in Passion Rising. What more can these two be put through? I’m almost scared to know!
Flesh into Fire is the intense third installment of JA Huss and Johnathan McClain’s Original Sin Series. When Ricky, the henchman, approaches Maddie, readers have to know book 3 was going to be action-packed from the start. I didn’t anticipate just how romantic and angsty Huss and McCain would make it as well.
Maddie and Tyler are a match made in Heaven…or perhaps Hell. Their chemistry is off the charts. The authors have created characters who feel real. They’re not perfect, but they’re perfect for each other. Authors Huss and McClain have so realistically presented characters who have known each other their entire lives; the dialogue flows effortlessly and depicts the familiarity between the characters. In Flesh Into Fire, readers are treated to “fed-up and I’m not going to take it anymore” Maddie. Her fiery temper is equal to her flaming red hair. Tyler continues his existential pondering that is sometimes thought provoking but most often hilarious as his mind wanders in a loopy circuitous path.
Amazingly, Huss and McClain have made their chief villain almost likable. Yes, I realize how hard it is to fathom that a drug trafficker and crime lord could have some good traits, but the authors truly have presented Carlos Castillo as having some manners and a few marginally redeeming traits. On the other hand, his henchmen don’t seem to possess morals, conscience, or manners. Secondary characters Raven and Brandon get a little more interesting in Flesh into Fire, and I hope to get more of their story in the final installment, Passion Rising (due out May 2018).
Flesh into Fire could easily have been the conclusion to this story; however, Maddie and Tyler have only battled their present-day threat. They still have a lot of past errors-in-judgment to address before they can hope for a happily-ever-after together. Flesh Into Fire manages to be humorous and romantic, while being an action-packed thriller at heart. I cannot wait to see how my predictions line up with Huss and McClain’s final installment of this scorching series.
Here we are at book #3 in the Original Sin series and this wild ride just keeps getting better and better. Flesh Into Fire is truly the most explosive installment yet with Tyler and Maddie and their off-kilter relationship full of incredible intrigue and all kinds of danger. These two clearly attract crazy and you can’t help but fall even harder for them.
With Carlos Castillo still pulling the strings that lead to Maddie’s freedom and ultimate happiness, it’s anyone’s guess just how far she will take her ruse in order to bring him down once and for all. And boy, does this book get intense! When a former adversary suddenly becomes an ally, things go from mildly desperate to off the charts desperate. But through it all, the love remains between Tyler and Maddie and they surprise both the reader and themselves as they continue to consummate it at the most inopportune of times. But that is what makes them so damn enchanting. You can’t help but want to cheer them on.
AND I am forever in awe at how McClain and Huss use their wicked humor to keep this story-line unique. Between Tyler’s seemingly insane inner thoughts and the Angel and Devil who sit forever perched on Maddie’s shoulders, I’m still shaking my head by the way I’m chuckling through all the mayhem.
Truly a must read series that you have to start from the beginning, I look forward to seeing how this journey plays out with the final book coming out soon. I have really enjoyed the seamless writing from McClain and Huss and can’t recommend it highly enough.
5 solid stars!!
Oh my freaking hell, this book had me on the edge of my seat and my heart racing pretty much the entire time I was reading it!! Maddie and Tyler’s story continues with suspense, angst, intensity, drama and of course lots of laugh out loud moments. Maddie definitely kicked a$$ with her sass and take no crap attitude….. needless to say I LOVE her!! Julie and Jonathan freaking nailed it again with another must read installment in the Original Sin Series!!
Flesh into fire into ash into eternity. This is the third book in the Original Sin series. Woah. Tyler and Maddie are hell bent on getting revenge on Carlos and Logan for the arson at Pete’s. I am gaga over Tyler. I love his inner monologue and his terminology. And I think it’s awesome that he’s not the perfect hero. He messes up and he makes mistakes. And Maddie is going to get her payback and she’s not letting anyone tell her no. She’s had so many bad things happen to her in her life. Many girls would roll over and give in to Carlos. But Maddie is a force to be reckoned with. The action really picks up at about 40% in and Does.Not.Stop until the end. Take the day off and read this, because once you start, you won’t want to put this down.
Holy action plot! This book is Non. Stop. Action. The chemistry between Tyler and Maddie is off the charts.
Book two ended with major plot twist and cliffhanger. So this book begins with the “resolution” to book two which broke my heart. Tragedy fueled revenge for Maddie and that’s where things start to spin out of control. Throw in Tyler’s alpha-crazy-male and things become downright explosive!
This book was…was…over the top! Go Maddie! Go Tyler!
Ah-Maz-Ing!! Seriously I binged this book in a whole day. I could not put it down. Tyler and Maddie are awesome I love their characters, I love them as a couple and I love their story. I can’t wait to see what book 4 has in store.
I’m not sure how they are doing this, but it is fantastic and I never want it to stop. I
love Tyler and Maddie’s story! Their love for each other has no limits. Maddie is
smart and strong, but she has yet to realize that. And Tyler? I want one of him
“It’s not lost on me that history is nothing more than the passage of time. And that we record time to give us some sense of our place in our own stories.”
Argh! OK, so this is getting harder and harder to say much without giving things away, I mean its book 3 and I know how easy it is to slip into spoilers!
Maddie is sick of being a victim of her circumstances and is done with her bad luck.
We love Maddie in this one, she kind of stole the show and impressed the hell out of us with her story and strength, let’s face it, shes totally kicked ass.
Tyler, the adorable idiot *insert swoony eyes*, I just love him.
They both have some hilarious moments in this story.
There were some real action-packed scenes where you are seriously hanging on every word, but I do think it was a wee bit dragged out in places.
Bring on the final book, we can not wait to see how this series ends
“We are unified. We are bound. We are one. And no one has to declare it. We know.”
The fall out from the tragic fire at Pete’s is taking it’s toll on Maddie and Tyler. Maddie knows her time is up with Carlos. She is done playing nice and she is ready for revenge and payback for the loss of her friends.
When faced with the opportunity to help bring Carlos and his empire crumbling she does not hesitate. Maddie decides to take both her Angel and Devil and go for it. Tyler is not 100% on board with this but knows he needs to let her do this.
Maddie’s brilliant feistiness is her key to survival. She is going to play the game with Carlos and get what she needs. If all goes to plan it will be quick and dirty. Yet in Maddie’s world nothing is that easy and Tyler is a factor in the equation all of his own making! Even with danger at every turn, Tyler continues to bring his outrageous wit and humor at the most inappropriate times.
With a burning desire, nothing is going to get in the way of loving each other any longer.
A super sexy thrill ride that is not to be missed.
Things are getting more intense as we find out who caused the fire at Pete’s. Maddie is out for revenge/payback and she is ready to dish it out to Logan and Carlos. And she might be able to get her payback from an unlikely source. Tyler is in love with Maddie and part of wants to help her but the protective side of him wants to take Maddie and run away. Or just pay Carlos what he thinks Maddie owes him since Tyler has the money.
I love how Maddie and Tyler’s relationship continues to evolve and how they both started to accept who they are as individuals and that they aren’t screw ups. As Maddie gets closer to getting her payback on Carlos and Logan, I can’t wait for what’s next for each of them.
I am anxiously awaiting the final book in this series, Passion Rising, to see how everything ends for Maddie and Tyler and their craziness for each other and in general!
Now this is what I’m talking about! After the jaw-dropping and chest-aching ending we got from Angels Fall, this is the perfect follow-up I’ve been waiting for and more—one with all the heart-pounding action and suspense and pure adrenaline rush I’ve been craving. From cover to cover, this book had me glued onto its pages. It was utterly addictive to the point that you know it’s already beyond the normal levels of insanity, but you just. Can’t. Stop. Devouring it.
Tyler Hudson Morgan. This guy. This beautiful, big-hearted man. Just when I thought I already knew him or the things he was truly capable of, he goes and breaks, shatters and owns my heart all over again. I don’t even care how random and quirky and unhinged he could get anymore. Despite his inner ramblings and the times he talks to himself, when he sobers up and gets all serious, the things he says will just slay you and bring you to your knees. They’ll pierce through your heart and you’ll feel them deep in your bones. And I know I’ve probably said this before, but I LOVE HIM. God, do I love this crazy, broken man.
Flesh Into Fire was definitely a ride I never wanted to get off of, no matter the twists and turns it shocked me stupid with. It was brilliant and out of this world—a sequel I didn’t think could get any more intense than the previous book. But here are these two authors, proving me dead wrong. And the humor—it was just as priceless as ever. Seriously, as long as it’s a book written (or co-written) by J. A. Huss, you’ll find yourself laughing at the most awkward, crucial or unexpected moments. It’s one of her trademarks that I won’t ever get tired of.
Shit just got absolutely real this time and it may seem like things have started to calm down and slowly been resolved… but I know there most likely would still be a huge explosion waiting on the horizon for us in the upcoming finale of the Original Sin series. It just keeps getting hotter and better, and my expectations for this tale just shot back up to the maximum. And although I don’t want to say goodbye to Tyler and Maddie yet, I couldn’t wait to see how it all ends and where Passion Rising takes them.
Holy Explosions, Batman! This story is filled with one after another! This story picks up where Angels Fall left off. Madison and Tyler have barely admitted their love for one another, before their tenuous relationship is tested through separation. Maddie agrees to a dangerous assignment in an effort to take back control of her life instead of “allowing” others to dictate her circumstances. Tyler reluctantly agrees to “let her go” knowing that if he’s ever to win Maddie’s whole heart, he needs to honor her choices even if he’s trying to protect her. We learn more about our villains, Carlos and Logan, and the tangled relationships of past and present. Just when you think you’ve got some of the details figured out, our writers throw a curveball in to keep the reader guessing. Can’t wait for the (I’m sure) explosive final ending!
4.5 STARS
Flash Into Fire is the third book in the Original Sin series and you really need to stop reading reviews on this one and start way back at book one if you haven’t already done so.
Maddie is seriously a crazy chick who has adopted the courage of a lion and a persona of steel to enable her to get through life. I just love the character she has become. Tyler is just as fierce as Maddie, especially when the one he loves is risking her life to help others and better her own. He is ruthless and would willingly take any amount of beatings if it means Maddie is safe. Equally they have both lost so much in life and so they get each other without doubt. A lot happens in this book and the action is in abundance in the second half of the book. I’m not going to go over it all because if you have read the first 2 books then you know whats went down so far.
I did struggle slightly with the first third or so of the book as I found it slightly dragging and lacking something. However with that being said the book more than came to life giving me all the angst, fierceness and banter I have come to love in the books I read, and it was then that I just couldn’t get enough, it was so intense. I can’t wait for the fourth and final book because I just need to know where it all goes next and if whats brewing in my own head will be proved right or wrong.
4.5 stars
This is my favourite so far in this series. Unlike the previous two books this one had me hooked from the first page.
Picking up from where Angels Fall ended, Maddie and Tyler are left to pick up the pieces after recent events. Tyler is….well, he’s still Tyler. With his ability to make me laugh at the most random moments, his manic mind and obsessive nature, I’m really, really starting to like this guy.
For the first time since reading these books I started to really dislike Maddie. I really wanted to shake some sense into her and get her to open her eyes although I understood her actions and I can’t say I wouldn’t do the same, she frustrated me beyond belief.
This book was everything I’ve come to expect from this series. With two complex, slightly crazy characters that have made me slowly fall in love with them, plenty of action and some of Tyler’s random humour, I can’t wait for the concluding part of their messed up story.
This book was Wow!!! JA and Johnathan did an amazing job with this story of Tyler and Maddie. A strong herione who takes the lead to get revenge on Carlos. With Tyler by her side there is nothing to stop them of being together. A ride that you definitely don’t want to miss.
You’ve heard the saying, ‘stop the roundabout, I wanna get off’? That’s what Flesh Into Fire is like, only…. I don’t want to get off. I don’t even want it to stop. It’s mad, it’s beyond crazy. It burns so bad, it’s that good. A complete tilt-a-whirl, filled with more tension, suspense, danger and the exhilarating, sexy escapades of Tyler and Maddie.
There’s so much that happened in this part and I’m not even going to tell you what they were just to avoid spoilers. Suffice it to say, grab the comfiest seat in the house, a bottle of your favorite tipple and BE PREPARED!!
My heart’s still thumping like crazy after finishing part three of the Original Sin series and now, I have to calm myself down as I wait not quite patiently for the fourth and final installment.
Yes, I say. Bring it on.
My Passion is definitely rising lol.
Wow! Things really get deep in this next installment of The Original Sins series. I loved every moment of it!
While Madison is dealing with the repercussions of Carlos’ actions, Tyler remains by her side. When they are both suddenly confronted with a twist in their circumstances, Tyler is adamant that they stay out of the situation. However, Madison needs this. It’s time she takes a positive step forward to prove that’s she’s more than the failures that have highlighted her adulthood.
As things go from zero to sixty in just a matter of pages, clues are dropped that perhaps things were not as coincidental regarding Maddie’s position at Pete’s. Tyler is on a rampage to protect the woman he loves and Maddison is just trying to get through the next day, hour, minute.
I loved the dynamics of this couple as they work together, and with a bit of help from a surprising source, to bring an end to Carlos. Tyler’s so freaking hilarious at times and Maddie totally gets him even when in the midst of chaos.
This one ends on a softer note. No dramatic cliffhanger. But we are still unsure what awaits this couple as they face the future. Things obviously are never what they seem in JA Huss and now Johnathan McClain’s fictional world. I can’t wait to find out what it is!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
