Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position. But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley … zip code, Presley steps up to help.
The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.
Love and commitment are predictable.
So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?
Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.
His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.
What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.
He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.
Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.
She makes him want to be reckless.

I’m feeling a little spoiled by Carrie Aarons. I know she is not spoiling me personally but as a reader … I’m a spoiled fan. In her new book Fleeting, she is giving me/us a new series and gifting me … okay us … THE NASH BROTHERS! That is a whole lot of drama wrapped up in A LOT of MANLINESS. I loved every freaking minute of the first book and it leaves me so excited about what’s to come.
The eldest Nash, Keaton, who is as sweet as can be, wears his heart on his sleeve and just has too many responsibilities. I hate that the burden of feeling responsible for others weighs him down. Nash gets to experience and escapes his reality with Presley McDaniel, a red-headed stranger in town, she’s quite flighty. Presley is afraid of planting roots, her perception of being the middle child had her feeling invisible which set her on a path of living in the moment. It’s Nash and Presley’s differences that make them perfect for each other. There are witty, sexy, and heartbreaking moments in this story. I was able to picture this little town and the community of family and friends. It’s the bond of brotherhood that captured my heart. I’m so ready for the next Nash in the series.
Keaton is the oldest Nash brother and takes on a lot of responsibilities, like his brothers, his widowed mother, his business, his work. But, his world is thrown into a tail spin when the wild city gal Presley moves in to his small town. They are polar opposites, but opposites do attract. Their relationship has that slow burn building and then it just launches. Their relationship draws you in and you live through their ups and downs. Along the roller coaster, you meet the other Nash brothers and friends in town. You’re immersed in their world and you find you’re rooting for everyone!
I really enjoyed this read! I look forward to the next Nash brother book about Bowen and Lily!
A great small town romance. A very handsome Veterinarian and a city girl come together to give us a really great story. Presley leaves the big city to help her grandmother. A small town isn’t her scene but ends up being just what she needs.
This is about starting over and following your dreams. Opposites attract with Keaton and Presley. Both needing something and finding it in each other. It’s sweet, sexy and I love the way the author told it. I loved all the characters and can’t wait to get all of their stories. Really enjoyed it.

Carrie Aarons captures the complete essence of small town living in the first chapter. From there it just gets better and better. I had a bit of a time keeping track of all the Nash men and who was who, who did what. However, the more the book went on the more Carrie gave them all really personalized personalities and the tiniest hints at their demons. I adored Presley. I found her charming and sweet with this surprising humorous side to her. While I might have had an instant attraction to them both, Presley fought her attraction a bit. But the ever present and dashing vet, Keaton, was persistent. Although, I do think sibling rivalry did add a bit of a kick to his booty for the more aggressive stance he tried. So what I’m saying is these two characters are great! I loved the secondary characters nearly as much! Presley’s grandmother is quite the character! I enjoy her banter.
So it’s no secret, I love me some Carrie Aarons novels. She has this fresh feel to all her books. She always has this unique spin on every story she creates. Book after book she pulls me in with her constant ability to be different. Aarons writes her stories with such creativity and a real singularity to every character. I was totally smitten with Chance and that opening scene!! After getting a small bite of every Nash man, I am fully invested in this family and cannot wait to see where Carrie Aarons takes he rest of these stories.
One of my favorite things about the way Carrie Aarons writes is the variety in her stories. No genre or book is ever the same for her. Fleeting has this really slow build up… it starts so easy with a nice southern charm to it. Don’t let it lull you in… Fleeting packs a whole lotta punch!!
I received an ARC of this book with the hope that I would leave an Unbiased Opinion. I was not required to leave a review, positive or otherwise, and my opinions are just that… my opinions.
Loved it! I’m a sucker for a small town romance, & this one was just perfect! While Keaton & Presley were attracted to each other from the start, they both had things that held them back from giving in right away. It was the sweetest opposites attract story!
This story was so sweet and steamy, which is typical Carrie Aaron’s. She is a master at writing small town romances and proves it in this book. I love small town romances and this author only exceeds my expectations. She makes the characters come to life. You laugh, cry and melt with emotions in this book. This is a story of second chances and gaining family. The characters encounter turmoil and life-changing circumstances, but they prevail and are stronger and happier because of it. It is the epitome of family not being blood, but whoever you hold closest to your heart. The author weaves beautiful words and makes a romance novel you won’t forget!!
I loved Keaton’s character. She could be someone I would be friends with. She’s sweet; yet sassy. She loves cautiously, but when she loves, she loves completely. Keaton is the picture of a good ole boy. He has had pst experiences that have made him who he is today. He completely takes control of every situation he can. He definitely makes the book steamy and extra hot. Their story is one I will reread again and again!! The grandma…… you have to read this book to get to experience her!!!
5 FABULOUS STARS!! This book is fabulous….I had a smile on my face most of the book, with some heartfelt moments. I read this book in one sitting, it is a pager turner. Keaton is a sexy Veterinarian that has everything going for him. Presley is beautiful woman that does not look for permanent in her life. Keaton and Presley are complete opposites and it was fun watching their story unfold. What a great start for this authors new series. I can’t wait to read the second book in this series. Make sure to 1-Click this book.
4.5 Stars
I haven’t read much by Carrie Aarons before, but this Nash Brothers series has a TON of promise! I fell in complete love with Keaton Nash- the hardworking, responsible oldest Nash brother. And Presley was the perfect counterpart for him- a woman who hasn’t quite found her place in the world, is a little lost as to what she wants. She gives Keaton that little bit of sponteneity that he needs, while he gives Presley that stability that she yearns for.
I am excited for more from the Nash brothers- especially Bowen; I need to find out what went down between him and Lily! I highly recommend Fleeting by Carrie Aarons!
Nothing worth having ever comes easy. Bring two souls together that would never normally never cross paths into a small town where nothing is ever a secret and sparks fly. Keaton is the one everyone turns to in his family and as the town vet. He has come to be the one everyone calls no matter the time then enter Presley. Presley has yet to find her place in the world. Their worlds collide in a way that will make you laugh out loud.
I loved the plotline, character development, and that it wasn’t insta-anything! Take a chance on this book – you will not regret it! I can’t wait for more Nash Brothers – I feel this roller coaster ride is only getting started!
Well Done Carrie Aarons!
Fleeting is the start of a brand new series, ‘The Nash brothers’ by Carrie Aarons and boy, what a start she’s off to. This book was warm, soft, sweet and just simply… the best. There’s a little bit of angst, a smidgeon of misunderstanding and a lovely ending to this wonderful new series.
Keaton Nash, is the eldest of the four Nash brother’s, he’s the only veterinarian in the small town oh Hawn Hill and it’s surrounding areas. He’ a busy man who isn’t looking for love. He’s been there, done that and got the scorch marks to show for it. But, when Presley MCDaniels walks into his surgery with her grandma’s dog, he’s immediately drawn to her.
Presley had moved to Fawn Hill to care for her grandma who’s health and eyesight were failing. She wasn’t expecting to meet a man, so soon, never mind one as hot and sexy as this doggie doctor.
She didn’t think he was the right man for her though, so it was down to Keaton to show her how wrong she was.
This was a true opposites attract book. On paper they shouldn’t have worked out but in reality, straight-forward thinking meets spontaneity and everything just clicked. I loved this whole book and the romantic journey they took to reach the end. They were tongue-tied, silly, made mistakes and got the wrong end of the stick, even managed to embarrass themselves once or twice. They were both nervous wrecks at times too and it just made it all so much realer and true to life.
This was plain and simple, a sweet, charming and steamy tale. What more do we need?
It had it all, comedic moments thanks to some animals and older persons. Serious moments from all concerned. Keaton’s brothers are going to have some interesting stories of their own.
And maybe an older flirty fifties one for their widowed mom?? Just throwing that out there Carrie, maybe a little novella, hmm?? I think she deserves something for raising those guys right. But, for now, enjoy this first book while I wait patiently for Lily and Bowen’s story which is up next.
Wow! What a great start to a new series.
Presley McDaniel moves to Fawn Hill, from New York, to help her Grandmother run her shop.
When her Grandmother’s dog Chance, eats a pair of her knickers, she comes face to face with the town Vet Keaton Nash. This is where the story gets very interesting.
Presley & Keaton are such lovely characters and the other cast members gel really well throughout the story. Nash has 3 brothers, so you can imagine the hilarious banter and there is also the well-meaning meddling from her Grandmother.
This was such a great read, funny & very romantic. I can’t wait to read about the other Nash Brothers.
Fleeting is book one in the Nash Brothers and also my first read by Carrie Aarons. I fell in love with Presley and Keaton’s story! They have chemistry from their very first meeting and Presley tries to fight it along the way. Will Keaton be able to resist his charm?
This is a great read and cannot wait to read more from this series!!!
This book had me hooked from the first chapter and I didn’t want to put it down till I finished. You feel drawn in by the small hometown and its residents; nothing overly scandalous, no off the wall revenge plots or ex significant others looking to make trouble.
I found it refreshing that the male lead character Keaton isn’t the suave, sophisticated, worldly manwhore that’s so prevalent in books these days; he’s the vet for his hometown (and surrounding rural areas) and loves his small hometown and is proud of his roots. He’s not the smoothest when it comes to interacting with Presley, he somehow alternates between nervous, shy and confident and that just endeared him to me even more. He’s all about family and being there for each other, especially as his youngest brother needs some serious help.
Presley is the middle child in her family, the one with the wandering spirit. She’s 27 and still isn’t sure what path her life will eventually land on, but no one is more surprised than she is that Fawn Hill is beginning to grow on her, to the point she’s beginning to imagine putting down roots.
Depending on who’s conversing, the dialogue can be sweet, snarky, funny, romantic and surprising. There are a few awkward times between Keaton and Presley, but that is something else that makes this story feel realistic; not every relationship or encounter is going to be all smooth and witty all the time.
This is the start of a fantastic series and I’m looking forward to getting to know each Nash brother in depth.
I’ve read (and loved) books by this author before, but this is the beginning of a brand new series, and I couldn’t wait to get started! I couldn’t help but love Keaton and Presley! The whole family grabbed my heart and won’t let go!
Keaton is the type of man that everyone relies on. He is stable and dependable, but also seems to have the world on his shoulders. He always puts everyone else’s needs and wants ahead of himself. He loves his life, but isn’t prepared for the wrench Presley throws into his routine! Presley, on the other hand, is a free spirit. She spends her life drifting from one meaningless job to the next, but when her grandma needs her help, she doesn’t hesitate to uproot her life to move to her small town. Presley thought she was happy, but adapts to small town life and all that it offers with ease. And even though there is an immediate attraction with Keaton, Presley isn’t sure how two people that are so different can fit together.
There were times, while reading Keaton and Presley’s story, that I wasn’t sure if they would be able to get past all of the obstacles in their way. There were times that I couldn’t contain my laughter at their interactions. There were times when my heart hurt for them. Honestly, my emotions were all over the place with their story, and I couldn’t help but fall in love with all of the characters. This story is definitely one that leaves you with a feeling of hope, and I can’t wait to read more about the Nash brothers!
LOVED this story! From the very start to the end, this story was right up my street… A small town romance story, full of charm, a little bit of humour, and a family of Brothers who are going to keep us on out toes.
This first book in the series see’s us meeting Keaton and Presley. Presley is in town helping her grandmother who is getting older and her eyesight is failing her. Presley has never set down any roots as such, and finds herself spending some time with her grandmother before she moves back to her life in the city.
Keaton is the town vet, and immediately we are thrown into the tory with Presley and Keaton’s first meeting!! One that definitely made me laugh! These two had some fantastic chemistry with some brilliant angst-ridden and swoon-worthy moments throughout the book.
I really liked the 2 main characters in this book. Carrie Aarons has done a wonderful job of setting her readers up for the rest of the series. We are introduced to the rest of the Nash brothers, giving us a little bit if intrigue into their own histories, personalities and potential storylines for the future. I cannot wait to see where those stories go.
Aarons changes things up a bit as she takes you to small town Fawn Hill, Pennsylvania, the home of the Nash brothers. In a completely new series, Aarons delivers four small town brothers adjusting to life after the loss of their patriarch. Town vet, Keaton Nash stepped up to the plate as leader when his father passed unexpectedly. Putting his life on hold in every situation serving others is what has left him alone, living in a home he bought for the family he wished he had.
Fawn Hill is the last place that big city girl, Presley thoughts she’d find herself. After moving to her grandmother’s small town to take care of her, she is sure this is just another blip on her radar of life. Until she meets good boy vet, Keaton Nash.
Instantly these two have a chemistry and connection. Keaton is somewhat dorky on his attempts at wooing her. Presley is almost snobbish in her attempts at not liking the town good boy. Instead of the insta-connection, Aarons takes a completely different approach by listing all the many reasons these two don’t work. I found this so refreshing from your typical romance novel. It made for a more realistic take on falling in love. Both characters were completely honest with each other as they were with themselves making the story so much more than a romance. Aaron delivered a journey of self discovery with romance along the way that I truly enjoyed.
While this book weighed heavily with honest life moments, it also features some pretty funny characters and moments along the way. Aarons developed some truly witty metaphors from good ole’ granny and some very funny banter between the Nash brothers. While doing so, she didn’t just leave me chomping at the bit for Presley and Keaton. She left me salivating for all of the Nash Brothers stories. I expect there to be more than just one Nash brother worth falling for. I, for one, can’t wait for the next in this series.
5 Sweet & swoon-worthy stars!
Fleeting is such a sweet and sexy small town romance. Keaton and Preston’s romantic journey was an absolute delight to read!
Preston is a bit of a free spirit, always living her life from one moment to the next, but never quite finding the happiness she desires. Needing a change, she leaves the big city and heads to the small country town of Fawn Hill, Pennsylvania. Once there, she helps her ailing grandmother with her bookstore/post office while also teaching a regular yoga class.
Keaton is good looking, kindhearted and an all around great guy. Growing up, he aspired to follow in his father’s footsteps by becoming a vet. He worked side by side with him until two years ago when his beloved father unexpectedly passed away. Now he runs the practice and also watches out for his mother and three younger brothers. His life is pretty simple and routine, but he’s content with that. He doesn’t even realize the one thing that he’s missing until she walks into his office with a cute bulldog in tow.
Fleeting is a wonderful start to the new Nash brothers series! With her captivating writing style, the author created characters with beautiful souls and amazing chemistry. I loved each and every swoon-worthy, heart fluttering and heartbreaking moment. I can’t wait to get my hands on the next installment to see what becomes of Bowen and Lily. Well done Carrie Aarons!
This was an excellent read. I loved Presley and Keaton together. They were out of their elements with each other and how they felt but they also balanced each other out. I can’t wait wait to read more about Keaton’s brothers.
“I have never taken a woman to bed on the first date. Although Presley McDaniel could be the one to change that.”
Carrie Aarons has done small town romance right. She has set the stage for a whirlwind of brothers, love and drama. And the first book in this series has completely captured my heart!
Presley and Keaton are complete opposites, but sometimes those are the ones that work the best (coming from personal experience I can say that, ha!) What makes them work is that they balance each other out. As much as Presley wants to be the wanderer, Keaton wants simplicity and stability. I think they both bring out each other’s best traits and that way they both get a little taste of everything.
I fell in love, I swooned, and I loved how everything worked out. I won’t go into too much detail, because you need to read this book! This book reminds me of all the reasons that I love romance and it will definitely bring you all of the feels!
If you love to read about big families, small town drama, quirky characters and small town romance, this book will definitely cross everything off your list! It was adorable and a great way to start off my March reads. I am looking forward to book 2 as well!
