Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position. But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley … zip code, Presley steps up to help.
The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.
Love and commitment are predictable.
So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?
Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.
His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.
What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.
He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.
Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.
She makes him want to be reckless.

I flew through the pages of Fleeting. Wonderfully written with detail and love. The scenery is well described, and the characters are well developed. Fleeting is the beginning of the Nash Brothers series. We follow Keaton Nash, the oldest, most responsible, and the one who looks after everyone. Presley waltz’s in to his vet office and his world is turned upside down. Presley has her own issues. She is beautiful, fun and throws caution to the wind. This couple is the definition of opposites who attract.
I am ready to read the stories behind the rest of these brothers. Oh yeah and momma Nash and Granny need their own stories. This is a heartwarming story with lots of laugh out loud moments and even a few moments of real life and heartache.
A sweet, satisfying small town romance populated with likable characters.
I love me a small town romance and a romance where a character is a vet or involved with animals in some way. This has BOTH of those so of course I was into it!
Presley is the definition of wanderlust. She doesn’t want to do anything permanent. Keaton is her exact opposite. He’s mister dependable, reliable, and responsible. So of course they are going to clash excellently.
This was a great read and really made me want to read more of this series, when it comes out. The Nash brothers are definitely going to be a series I re-read.
Fleeting by Carrie Aarons is the first book in The Nash Brothers series, and I loved it. It was sweet, charming and full of the feels. Presley McDaniel lives her life by the moment. Permanent choices are not her thing. But when her grandmother needs help with her shop, Presley decides to help her. What she never expected was Keaton Nash.
Keaton Nash is the guy everyone likes and can depend on. He is a good guy with the heart of gold. After losing his father, as the oldest, he steps up to care for his mother and brothers. When he meets Presley, he is smitten. I loved their initial meeting and chemistry! Presley may have been a wondering sprit to Keaton’s steady path, but together they shared something special. Fleeting by Carrie Aarons was a great read and introduces us to the Nash brothers! So excited to read what’s next!
Read and reviewed for Sultry Sirens Book Blog.
Happy reading!
Wow
I am enthralled with this new series! Carrie Aaron’s hasn’t let me down yet. I’ll be a forever fan girl of hers!
I received an Advance Reader Copy. This is my honest and voluntary review.
A small town, a book store, and a veterinarian with a meddling family? Sounds like a recipe for a good time to me and that’s exactly what I had while reading Fleeting – a good time! Presley and Keaton (love those names) were the cutest couple and I LOVED the way they fought their attraction even though their coupling was inevitable. I’m so happy that this is the first in a series because I want more stories set in Fawn Hill and I definitely want more of the Nash Brothers! Carrie Aarons has proven that she can adeptly handle YA/NA, sports romance, heavier fare, and now this small town delight – she has earned her spot as a must read author for me! 4 out of 5 wine glasses.
Paging Dr. Nash, paging Dr. Nash!
I can always count on Carrie Aarons to give me all the feels wile reading her angsty books and Fleeting did not disappoint! Keaton Nash is the towns hot veterinarian and Presley is the new beautiful girl who just moved to town to help her grandma run her store. An embarrassing trip to the vet has these two meeting and the story that Carrie takes us on is magical!
I loved reading about Keaton and Presley and how there love unfolded throughout the story. I also fell in love with the rest of the Nash family, and I can’t wait to see what the future holds for the remaining brothers. I have no doubt in my mind that you will fall in love with not just Keaton and Presley, but the remaining Nash brothers as well.
Super cute small town romance. Carrie Aarons is a new to me author, and I love her style. She wrote a story that pulls at your heartstrings, but also is fun. It’s got the spirit and spunk, and it also has the heart. And if I’m being completely honest, all the heart goes a long ways. She didn’t over do any cutesy and she didn’t make us really dislike anyone. She wrote her characters with charm, empathy, and a ton of familial ties.
CA really built a realistic fictional world; with the humor, swoon, and the not so fun side of things. We learn so much about the secondary characters, and slowly see where their stories may lead as well.
If you’re looking for a quicky read, that will have you laughing and swooning, and needing a fun change, pick this book up!
4.5 Stars
This author is new to me and I will have to check out more of her work. Overall this is a sweet romance and adorable romance full of love, family and bad decisions. You know the saying the opposites attract well that’s definitely this story.Keaton and Presley couldn’t be more opposite he is a small town, country veterinarian and Presley is a city girl from New York with no direction in her life. Ms. Aarons writes a captivating storyline with brilliant secondary characters. I am looking forward to the second book in the series!
This book kicks off a new series by Carrie Aarons. This book had me hooked right from the start. I love a small town setting in books and this one feeds that craving. Keaton Nash had me won over by the blurb since he’s a veterinarian. Nothing sexier than a man who loves animals. Presley and Keaton’s first meeting is hilariously memorable. This book has many funny moments, but it also has some serious heart clenching moments. The Nash brothers have their inner demons and it makes for one intriguing bunch. It has me anticipating the rest of the books in the series. I really liked Presley. I loved watching her blossom in Fawn Hill. Presley and Keaton may seem like complete opposites, but they complete each other. It’s really beautiful watching them, but it’s not all smooth sailing because Presley has a wandering soul. I highly recommend this one if you’re looking for a well rounded book!

it was amazing
Love a small town romance. I absolutely adore this book. Carrie has done it again such a great book. Loved every second. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
Such a sweet romantic story about two opposite people who collide into one another’s life. Keaton is the small town vet and is used to an even keel life. Presley blazes into town to help her grandmother out and blazes right into his settled life. The build up is perfect, the emotions when they do explode went straight to my heart/bones.
Truly my heart is so full right now, with a smirk on my face and happy tears in my eyes. Can’t wait to read more about these Nash brothers and their journeys.
If my vet was as brilliantly amazing and gorgeous as Dr. Keaton Nash I might invent illnesses for my dog and get ten more pets just to visit that office on the daily. Take my money and my lacy undies, doc. Keep the change!
And that’s pretty much how Presley and Keaton meet. And it’s pretty much lust at first sight. Which wasn’t what either want.
Keaton with a history the small town he’s lived in all his life is pervy to, and Presley not ready to set up her ever after in small town Fawn Hill. Neither are in a place for lust, let alone love.
Yet with some family and friend persuasion the pair give each other a chance.
A beautiful story of moving on, realizing your life’s purpose, and all the other things that happens with finding love at the least expected time.
This is the first Nash brothers book and I can’t wait for the other three brothers to tell us their stories.
I’ve only read one book from Carrie Aarons before she send me this ARC. After reading this book, I’m a fan. I can’t wait until the next book comes out in this series! Aarons depicts small town living to perfection.
Presley McDaniel is a nomad–living in New York City most of her life, working multiple jobs to pay the rent. She thought she was happy. She also knew something was missing from her life. She heads down to Pennsylvania to help her aging grandmother who is slowly going blind, hoping to find some answers about her life. The last thing Presley needs is her grandmother’s dog eating her precious underclothes and the hot veterinarian.
Keaton Nash has wanted to be a vet his entire life. It doesn’t help that he’s also wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps –also a vet. He’s satisfied with his boring, routine life. He carries the responsibility of his family since his father’s death two years ago. He needs to take care of his mother and the responsibilities of his childhood home. He’s also constantly trying to keep his baby brother out of jail from Fletcher’s alcoholism. Neither of his other two brothers help him much at all.
It’s not surprise seeing Chance in his office, the dog eats everything. He doesn’t know how many times he’s told Hattie to train that dog. But it’s Hattie’s granddaughter who brings Chance in. For the first time in his life, Keaton breaks his professional demeanor with a client. He turns beat red when he pulls Presley’s pink lace thong from Chance’s butt.
Presley isn’t use to people caring about her. Heck, even her parents don’t call to check on her. I mean, she’s the middle child; she’s used to being ignored. For the first time in her life, she feels like she belongs in this small town. She has a circle of friends with Lily and Penny. She started teaching yoga. Thinking about returning to New York City makes her heart tighten. She takes a chance on the gorgeous, hot vet who gets tongue tied when around her. It’s sweet, but she’s not used to sweet.
Can Keaton be spontaneous and break out of his routine for Presley?
Can Presley learn to trust others?
Will Presley find what she’s looking for in her life in New York City or Fawn Hill?
Is there a chance for Keaton to let go of his responsibilities and allow others to help him?
Can I just say that Carrie Aarons you know how to write an angsty romance that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what is going to happen next. I laughed and I cried while I was reading this book because my heart went out to both main characters Keaton and Presley. The way she wrote this story had me feeling like I was right there in the clinic and the book store with them seeing them live out their lives.
When Keaton and Presley first meet their is chemistry there and they both fight it. But as time goes on and they see each other more they can’t help but give in to the feelings and wow bam are they combustible together. I loved watching them fall slowly for each other and teaching each other things they never knew because Presley came from a fast pace life and Keaton came from a small town that loved and cherished everything and everyone.
This is a must read to a beginning of a great series to come because those Nash brothers are something else and they are a force to be reckoned with!
I loved Presley and Keaton! The opposites attract thing they have going on works so right! Presley is a lost soul and I identified with her need to escape. She has no sense of future not because she doesn’t want one but because she fears failure. Keaton is the home town good boy. He is the eldest of 4 boys and takes the job to heart. He’s also the town vet and the one every one can depend on. He is so grounded, I think his feet have roots. The two of them balance each other out but they have to learn each others pushing points. What started out as a fling, turns into a hot, steamy HEA. The supporting characters are as complicated as Presley and Keaton but not over powering. I am anxiously awaiting the next book. Well, Ms. Aarons, you have me hooked.
While Fleeting got off to a bit of a slow start for me, by the time we get to the second half of the book, it was definitely hitting its stride and I felt more affection for the female main character–the male main character snagged my attention from the get-go–and I was more invested in their happy ending. I’m a firm believer in the idea that small town romances are only as good as the cast of characters, and this series starter certainly introduced readers to particular townsfolk from Fawn Hill that I REALLY want to get to know better. See, the ideal first in a series of romance standalones–not the continuous kind–for me offers up a story about one couple while giving readers peeks at potential other people who’ll get their stories told later on. Here, the series is linked together not just by the town they’re in but also by the fact that they’re four brothers–Keaton (30), Bowen (28), and twins Forrest and Fletcher (24)–who love their mother and miss their late father. Keaton and Presley’s love story made me smile and made my heart twinge a time or two, and Fleeting had a message I loved and left me wanting even more from the town of Fawn Hill, Pennsylvania and Carrie Aarons’s Nash Brothers series. 4.5 stars.
Love small town romances and this story was perfect. It will pull at your heartstrings, there was undeniable chemistry and it was funny. I read this book in one sitting because I needed to know more with every page.
Fleeting by Carrie Aarons is the first book in the Nash Brothers series and tells Presley and Keaton’s story.
Presley McDaniels is a drifter. When confronted with difficulties she tends to run. Now she took the responsibility to help at her grandmothers shop in a small town. City girl in a small town, seems isn’t quit a good fit. We’ll see.
Keato Nash is the oldest of four siblings, works as vet in his clinic and likes order and planning. He enjoys a steady lifestyle and the nslow pace he sets.
When whirlwing Presley comes into his clinic and his life everythings about to change.
Presley has him in knots and her spunk drives him crazy. Both makes themselves miserable with all the drama they create.
Fleeting is a great read, a bit rom/com-ish, a bit drama and a great deal of lovers disagreement. All in all a great read, swoonworthy story and characters and I can’t wait to read the next brothers story.
Presley has moved to the small town of Fawn Hill to help her grandmother run her bookstore/post office (like only a small would have!) and she’s trying to find her bearings. Small town life is much different than what she is used so it’s taken her a bit to get in the swing of things.
Small town life gets a bit more appealing when she meets Keaton Nash, the town vet. Their first meeting is quite hilarious and I immediately knew that I would like these two together. They are both attracted to each other and Keaton asks her out, but Presley is hesitant to accept. She doesn’t know if her stay in Fawn Hill is permanent and is scared to get attached to Keaton. But she eventually agrees and the two go on what they both consider to be their best date ever.
I looooooooooooved Keaton! The self assured, self appointed head of the Nash family became all tongue tied around Presley at first. But once he gets his feet under him he’s even more adorable. He was so sweet and thoughtful, but also needed to learn to take some time for himself. Since his father died, he seems to take care of everyone but himself. Getting involved with Presley helps him realize that he can’t be everything to everyone. On the flip side Presley always had a “rolling stone gathers no moss” attitude and it wasn’t until she meets Keaton that she realizes that maybe it is time for her to settle down. In short, these two were VERY good for each other.
The author did a great job of introducing the rest of the Nash brothers. They each have their own personalities, their own problems and I look forward to reading their stories. The next book seems to be a second chance romance and I can’t wait to read it.
I just LOVED this book! The very first chapter had me laughing out loud and from there it was just a delightful story to read! By the end, I was left with a warm fuzzy feeling that made me feel so good! If you love small town romance trope is your jam, then this one is for you!
