Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position. But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley … zip code, Presley steps up to help.
The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.
Love and commitment are predictable.
So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?
Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.
His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.
What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.
He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.
Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.
She makes him want to be reckless.

FLEETING by Carrie Aarons is book one in The Nash Brothers Series. This is the story of Keaton Nash and Presley McDaniel.
Presley is the middle child who has drifted from one job to another…never holding anything for long. Presley has never really found her niche in life, so when her Grandmother needs help with her bookstore due to her heath, she goes forward to help. Presley the total city girl, heads to the small town of Fawn Hill to help. What Presley doesn’t expect is that she would like the small town life or that she would meet Keaton the town’s veterinarian. Keaton is the all around small town son taking over for his father office. Keaton been down the road of giving his heart only to find the women is setting her sites on moving to the big city. So he knows that Presley will be flighty but how can he stop his growing feelings? Such a sweet page turner romance loved it and look forward to the other books.
Presley and Keaton had me hooked until the very end. When Presley’s grandmother can no long run the local bookstore, Presley decides it time to buck up and be responsible. When Keaton takes on the role as the town’s veterinarian, he never expected to settle into his father’s home town. Trying to move on from a broken heart ain’t easy but when a certain red head comes into the picture, she makes want to do things he’s never done before. These two are total opposites but that’s what makes them work. I can’t wait for more! (
This was such a really cute read. Keaton is a small town vet that runs himself thin by being everyone’s hero and doing every and anything for his family and practice. Presley is a flighty woman that hasn’t ever really settled at any aspect of her life. When things get to be mundane or routine she likes to run. At first this made me not like her because how she treated Keaton on their first few outings but as the story goes on Keaton helps her get over some of her fears and she redeems herself by letting him into her heart. The Nash brothers are all amazing and I can’t wait for their stories especially Bowen and Lily’s.
Keaton and Presley story was everything. I just love me a good small town romance!
This has been sitting in my TBR list for some time and I’ve finally managed to get my hands on it. I’ve known about MCs and some of how they ended up together because I started this series with book 3 but it was still fun and interesting to see the whole dynamic that is relationship between Presley and Keaton .
It was emotional, a bit of angst and a while lot of love. Now I’m starting book 2 and getting to know the final Nash brother and his story with HEA.

Presley is a girl who bounces around from job to job and idea to idea and doesn’t know how to really settle down but when her grandma needs help with her book/mail store in her small town, Presley decides to leave the hustle and bustle of New York to help her out. Only she wasn’t expecting to run into Keaton Nash, the town’s vet, and she wasn’t expecting to be inexplicably drawn to him.
I struggled with this book in the beginning. Presley and Keaton both seemed so all over the place with their inner dialogues and it was driving me crazy. I felt like they kept contradicting themselves all over the place. But once they settled into a grove it was an enjoyable story and my frustrations with their inner dialogues was gone. This was your typical sweet small town romance that you love and expect from Carrie Aarons. Despite my frustrations with both of the mains at the beginning of this book, I ended up enjoying this story and I am definitely intrigued with Keaton’s brothers. I will definitely pick up the other books in this series.
I enjoyed reading this book and look forward to reading more by this author
Presley and Keaton are so different. He is a first son who takes care of everybody and thinks he hold everything on his shoulders Presley is the middle child who got ignored and likes to run but her grandmother needs her so she goes to her and help her run the bookstore. She meets Keaton and there is an instant connection but there both scared. Can they get over themselves and be together. Great characters and storyline. Love this book.
Carrie Aarons, the queen of sweet, has done it again with Presley McDaniel and Keaton Nash. Presley is the girl that doesn’t know how to do one thing for long, fleeting is the word that describes her. It’s also the word that describes what she thinks of relationships, at least until a man sweeps her right off her runaway feet. She doesn’t expect the small town to feel more like home than the big city ever did and she certainly doesn’t think the sweet, charming vet should be her perfect match. But small town charm comes with small town intervention and soon Presley finds herself on a date with Keaton, a man who doesn’t do temptation or spontaneity. The chemistry is there, but one of them will have to put down roots or be willing to give up stability.
“Life before her was muted, and with her in my arms, I saw nothing but fireworks.”
Here today gone tomorrow, that’s Presley’s motto, but the opportunity to help her grandmother out is also her chance to show her family she can stay put. She’s absolutely a big city girl in a small town book, her discomfort is more than written on the pages, it’s a physical feeling you get while reading. She’s immature with relationships, both romantic and familial, and she’s got a stack of old issues. Keaton, however, is as patient and committed as they come. Sure, he’s not interested in the hard work of a relationship and the pain of heartbreak, but when he gives into Presley he gives in and, in my opinion, is pretty incredible to her all things considered. Their chemistry is off the charts, but the setting isn’t made for therapy sessions and working through it all. It’s made for sweet dates, arguments, and a crash course in love. Of course, small town romance wouldn’t be so charming if it didn’t have meddling from family and townsfolk.
The Nash Brothers series not only gives us sweet Keaton, but also his brothers who certainly don’t have an adjective nearly as nice as sweet before their names. Presley may have been the wild child in Fleeting, but the series promises more angst, more drama, and certainly more loving. Fleeting was a fun, escape read for me that I think fans of nice-guy romance will really enjoy.
ARC provided.
Enemies to lovers with a bit of forbidden love thrown in, SOLD! I love the Nash brothers books and this one is so exception. Penelope and Forrest are both a little broken. But sometimes people’s broken parts make the other person whole. I’d recommend this book.
Fleeting by Carrie Aarons is the first book in her small town Nash Brothers romance. The story of Presley and Keaton is sweet and spicy. The big city girl moved to a small town adn the attraction that ignites between her and the local vet. Keaton, the eldest Nash brother, has always been the responsible one. Steps into his father’s veterinary shoes, supports his mother & brothers, is reliable and won’t ever leave Fawn Hill. Presley has never fully committed to a thing in her entire life so when she agrees to move to Fawn Hill to help her ailing grandmother run her bookshop she surprises herself with how well the small town fits her. But that indescribable itch to not settle still lingers. When things heat up between her and Keaton the itch to leave starts to grow. Can she finally put down roots or is this just another temporary thing in her life? Loved this and am diving right into the next book in the series, Forgiven. Enjoy!
Keaton Nash has had to be the backbone of his family since the day his father died. He is the one who everyone looks to for help and support. But when Keaton has a chance encounter with Presley, the girl who never makes a commitment and runs away when the going gets tough. Can opposites attract? Can Presley teach Keaton how to become more laid back and can Keaton show Presley that not all commitments are bad? Love, Love, Loved this story – it put a smile on my face and happiness in my heart. I cannot wait for more in this series.
Fleeting is a sweet small town romance. It has a small town feel and a hopeful nature. I think my favorite character is Chance. I’m sorry but his randy nature still makes me giggle.
Fleeting is cute. It’s fun. It has me intrigued for the rest of the Nash clan.
Cute Small Town Romance
Keaton and Presley’s story was a cute small town boy, big city girl romance. I liked that even though this was Keaton and Presley’s book that we were possibly set up for future books in the series. A good, quick read with a super cute happily ever after.
Cute little small town romance I really enjoyed cannot wait for more of the Nash Brothers.
Dr Nash living his quite life as the town vet taking care of the town, his family and his mother since his father’s sudden death. Enter Presley back to town to help her grandmother with her shop. She never felt her place or importance until she starts to make her own life in this small town.
Loved it
3.5
This was a nice story. Small town, funny, sweet romance. I really enjoyed Keaton’s character. It was refreshing to see a man that knows what he wants, is completely honest about how he feels and doesn’t have to be a jerk to do it. I just felt like there was something missing that kept me dying to read more. The brothers have me very intrigued though about their stories and I am definitely going to be checking out the next boosk.
A small town romance that would swoon your heart. Keaton Nash, hometown Veteranian, the good son, the problem solver, the positive-thinking man..
Presley McDaniels, an Uptown girl from NYC, Yoga girl..
The romance was sweet and personal. The story was written with detail of feelings. I had my ‘giddie up girl’ feelings when I read Fleeting because the story had opened up my heart with the laughter, emotional family drama and falling in love.
4 Stars
Carrie Aarons paints small town life accurately in Fleeting complete with it’s one stop light and gaggle of gossips so anytime a new face, especially a big city one, arrives in town, it’s big news. Presley is a New York girl through and though but despite the close proximity to all-night Chinese food, the city and her life in it weren’t fulfilling her. Moving to rural Pennsylvania causes her to reevaluate her life and what she wants out of it. As a full time flibbertigibbet, she’s only dabbled in life, never wanted to put down roots but the super hot small town vet has her rethinking everything.
Keaton is adorable and sweet and the hero of your dreams, even with his baggage. He’s fantastic to Presley and she’s good for him. They turned out to be a great couple. I really enjoyed most of the side characters, although the brothers annoyed me on more than one occasion. But I know redemption will be sweet in the next Aarons’ book!

Favorite Quotes:
How old are you, anyway? And what’s your middle name? I should at least know the basics before I go on a date with you. You could be a serial killer.
I am jumpy, anxious, my palms are sweating … it is as if I’ve been arrested for a crime I didn’t commit and am about to confess just to make it stop.
… the two have the chemistry of a box of fireworks. Illegal ones.
My Review:
This was an excellent start for a new series. Fleeting was a fun and lively read that was loaded with zings of clever humor, irreverent wit, sizzling steam, and endearingly flawed and appealing characters. Written in my favorite dual POV, the writing was briskly paced, easy to follow, engaging, and pleasantly entertaining. While it wasn’t all rainbow sprinkles and unicorn farts, the heart-squeezing moments were not overly angsty or unrealistically melodramatic. Presley was a bit of a hot mess but I totally adored the earnest white knight Keaton. I would have a standing appointment if my vet were as thoughtful and sexy as Dr. Nash. However, his family dynamics were uniquely vexing with each member having intriguing issues and distinct personalities. I look forward to getting to know each of them better in subsequent installments.
I’m in love! With the small town charm of Fawn Hill and the wonderful citizens from the grouchy, sassy Grandma to the studly Nash brothers. A new series with four brothers that are all unique and definitely their own person in a setting that’s sensational. First up is the oldest, Keaton, with such a sense of family and honor that’s so wonderful. He takes care of everyone while running his own business as the town’s only veterinarian. He may appear stuffy and uptight but he’s got a dirty side that the new girl in town brings out. Talk about opposites! Presley is floating through life looking for her purpose when she’s lands in Fawn Hill to help her grandmother. She’s a bit of a wild child but Keaton’s hook from the beginning. Little does Presley know that the standup vet is exactly what she needs. The romance between these two is swoon worthy and beautiful. The author did a terrific job of letting us know exactly who these characters are and building their beautiful love story. Just fabulous! I can’t wait for the next Nash brother story. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC.
