Presley McDaniel lives her life from moment to moment.Making permanent decisions means obligation, and that would force her to stop being the family disappointment. Waitress, fitness instructor, dog walker … you name the hourly job and she’s probably held the position. But when her grandmother can no longer run her book shop in Fawn Hill, a town so small it barely has its own zip code, Presley … zip code, Presley steps up to help.
The move from bustling city to green pastures may be exactly what she needs to sort out her life. But she didn’t ask for that happy ending to include a gorgeous veterinarian with an all-American smile and a penchant for snuggling puppies. The good doctor is reliable, responsible, and just the kind of man Presley has always avoided.
Love and commitment are predictable.
So why, the moment she lays eyes on him, are they all she wants?
Keaton Nash has never questioned his steady path.
His brothers may tease him about settling into his father’s passed-down role of small town veterinarian, but Keaton has never minded his rural roots. And after tragedy struck two years ago, he has a duty as the eldest Nash man to look after his family.
What he doesn’t need is the sexy, flighty stranger who shows up in town and gets his broken heart beating again. Presley McDaniel is a distraction, a red-headed temptation that is the definition of a bad idea.
He’s barely recovered from the love who left him to chase bigger dreams, and this woman is bound to do the same.
Except for the first time ever, he wants to abandon stability.
She makes him want to be reckless.

Fleeting is the first book in the Nash Brothers series by Carrie Aarons. I have been following Carrie’s words for years now and I know if I open one of her books I am going to fall in love. And I did just that once again.
Keaton Nash is a small town veterinarian. Presley is a city wanderer. He takes care of his family. She is the black sheep of hers. He loved math in high school. She enjoyed ditching school to make dreamcatchers. He had plans. She had yoga pants.
Keaton did not expect her. Of course he knew there was a new woman in town. A granddaughter who was helping Hattie, the owner of the bookstore slash post office but he was not expecting her. A beautiful redhead who made him laugh at first word. One who made him fumble. He did not fumble. Ever. He hasn’t dated anyone in two years and was doing just fine. Until now. He had to ask her out even if he made a mess of things. There was just something about her that made him want to toss his predictable ways.
Presley was so embarrassed. Her grandma could have warned her the town Vet was this hot. He was also adorable. The way he had finally asked her out days later was the cutest thing ever. But, he deserved more. She wasn’t even sure if she was going to be staying in town. He seemed like the kind of man who wanted a wife at home, two point five children, and a picket fence. She was not that girl. She was the complete opposite of that girl. He had a tight knit family while hers was anything but. Then something happened between them…
Now, I can’t tell you exactly what but I can say it was sweet, smooth, and a start to something. I will say that I loved them. Keaton really is freaking adorable and confident at the same time. He also has other sides to him that only Presley could get him to show. And Presley, she is more than she believes. She is a flight or fight kind of girl. She has to decide where she belongs. In a small town or a big city.
Overall…it’s a sweet, sexy, and adorable story full of love, family, animals, yoga, and bad decisions. The best kind. I can’t wait for the next book! There is a sneak peak at the end of the book. If you follow my reviews you know I don’t read the synopsis if I have read the author’s work so I didn’t go there but I know it’s going to be an emotional ride.
Quotes:
“I’m a vet in small-town Pennsylvania. If I walked around here asking everyone to call me Dr. Nash, they’d think I was a stuck-up prick.”
“I won’t tell you how many times I’ve had to loosen my belt on the afternoons I eat there.” And now I’m telling her about unbuckling my pants. Great. I have absolutely zero game.
“Your body … it was made for me to touch.”
Wow, I am in love with this new series by Carrie!! The Nash Brothers are going to be one hot and amazing series!!!
Follow the oldest Nash brother, Keaton, resident Vet in the town of Fawn Hill. Since his father passed away, he’s taken on the roll of family leader and worrier, as he looks after and worries about his brothers and mom. Throw in that everyone calls him at any hour of the night to check on their animal, he lives a pretty hectic but boring life. Yes boring till one day Presley comes in with her grandmothers dog, who ate her pink thong and is having trouble passing it! He’s certainly taken with the new girl in town, but finds it hard to talk to her!
Presley has relocated from NYC to Fawn Hill to help her grandmother in her store. Presley considers herself a nomad, never settles in one place long. At first when she meets Keaton, she see’s a good straight guy, no match for some one like her, after all she’s the middle child, not as good as her older and younger smarter settled siblings. She just can’t find where she fits in.
Can these two get past their insecurities and make a life with each other, or will Presley pack up and head out for a new destination and leave the life in Fawn Hill behind.
Carrie nailed the first book in her new series, I am definitely invested in the Nash boys! 5 amazing stars for this one, grab this asap!!!
Presley and Keaton stole my heart! I loved how this book unfolded. It is not light-hearted, but it is not heart-wrenching either (even though I definitely had a few tugs on my heart while reading), it is just right in the middle!
Presley was living out her days as as a city girl and fairly content with her life until her Grandmother gets ill and needs help in her small town. So, Presley moves down there to help with her business and life changes completely for her. She is a free spirit, a nomad, a gypsy, she wants to know that she can be able to take off anytime because her fight or flight reaction is ALWAYS flight!
Keaton Nash is absolutely delectable. Seems to be the guy next door family Vet that is always ready to help whenever it is needed. The only issue with that is when is Keaton supposed to have his own life? After his father passed away, being the oldest son made him the ‘man of the house’ and making sure that everyone is good but definitely at his expense. Until he meets Presley.
Keaton and Presley’s story is beautiful, powerful, and absolutely awesome. This is not insta-love, but the attraction is definitely flaming. I cannot wait for the next read, which the author said the sparks are more so like dynamite… heck yeah!
I loved getting to know the Nash boys and cannot wait to read this entire series!
Thank you Carrie Aarons, this was a huge 5 outta 5 from me!
PS: I received an ARC of this in return for my honest review!
From a city slicker to a country bumpkin. The charm of the countryside luring her in.
She’s in town to help her ailing grandmother with the family bookshop come post office.
He’s the small town vet. His love of animals something he picked up from his father.
One dog that eats the inedible and that’s meeting number one!
Two single young adults, lots of meddling townsfolk… what will happen next?
This book had me chuckling before chapter two had even begun! It has charm and humour a plenty!
It is essentially a picturesque small town romance with lots of quirky characters, and I loved every one of them!!
Keaton is adorably cute with his completely obvious crush on her. He’s the pillar of strength within his family. The shoulder to cry on, the phone call for help, the responsible one.
Presley is the wandering flight nomad. She’s skittish about commitment of any kind but her personality outshines any flaws she has.
The romantic in me absolutely adored them from the first moment till the last. They made me all warm and gooey and left me with a silly smile on my face. *insert blush here*
There were so many moments which made me swoon and sigh happily in this sweet read. Beautiful!
Another fantastic read from Carrie and I can’t wait for more up and close encounters with the Nash brothers in the up coming books.
4.5 Stars
Carrie is one my go-to authors for sweet, wholesome romances and she never lets me down.
Fleeting is the perfect start to her newest series and I love every bit of it.
The blurb gives you all that you need to know, so there is no point in me re-hashing that. And I won’t give you any new details either.
Carrie sets the tone and plot perfectly for this series with this book. We meet each of the brothers and get a little bit of background on each of them to know what we can expect in coming books, but it doesn’t pull away from Keaton and Presley’s story.
I love the small town vibe she sets up and all the nuances that go on in small towns. Along with the brothers, the secondary characters add the perfect touch to this series and I cannot wait to read more about them all.
Carrie nailed this book perfectly and set off the rest of the series the right way!!
Nerdy vet meets hot city girl. Keaton is the nerdiest alpha I have read about, but he will make you swoon! He may not be Mr. Confident, I can get any woman I want, because he tongue tied and getting Presley! Presley runs faster than the speed of light when she thinks someone wants commitment. But Grandma sees through her walls and gets Presley to grow some roots. Loved Grandma in this book. She was like any true grandma in telling it like it is with no beating around the bush. Exactly what Presley needed. Keaton and Presley have amazing chemistry and certainly prove that opposites attract. Well written story and intro to the Nash series!
Carrie has a way with words that is like the ebb and flow of the ocean. Her words are flawless and perfect making reading effortless and enjoyable. The way she develops her characters and their story is absolutely amazing.
Presley moves to Fawn Hill to help her grandmother and in the process falls in love with this quaint, country town. Let me tell you that I want to move there! It’s sounds like picture perfect perfection. Presley grandmothers dog eats an article of her clothing and needs to be seen by the vet, cue in Keaton.
Presley and Keaton are a match made in heaven. Total opposites that found each other at the perfect time. Despite a few bumps in the road they find each other again.
I loved their story and am waiting with baited breath for the others stories!
I received an ARC in return for an honest review. Let’s start by saying Keaton is not my type. From the beginning he just was the opposite of the alpha type I like. He is so nice and she kept rejecting him. It was hard for me to get into this one. That being said, that’s just my personal preference so if your looking for a small town, nice guy then he is what your looking for.
Carrie Aarons never fails and Fleeting is no exception. This is book one in the Nash Brothers series that follows four brothers.
Keaton is the oldest and being the oldest always brings great responsibility. He is the local vet in the small town of Fawn Hill. Presley is the big city girl who has come to Fawn Hill to help her grandmother who is dealing with health issues.
These two are water and oil on the surface and have a slow start. I loved seeing their relationship build throughout the book and seeing how much they grew themselves.
Oh where to start with this one. First off, Carrie Aarons has written something so raw and powerful, I could not put it down. I absolutely adored every moment of this book. The highs and the lows. There were some really emotional moments not just with the main characters but with the supporting ones. It is a very heartfelt story too. About finding your footing, regardless of what is expected of you. Believing in yourself and making your own way in life.
Presley is one unique character. I loved her as we see why she is the way she is and why she runs scared a lot of the times. That lack of support from her parents really did a number on her. But then she runs into Keaton. He brings out a confident side in her. Pushing her to be so much more than she thinks she can be. But Presley also brings out the fun side in Keaton. Keaton always did what was expected of him, however Presley breaks out that spontaneity in him! These two are totally opposites attract but in such an amazing way, they work.
Overall, this was an amazing story of hope, love and supporting those important to you. I honestly could not stop this book and devoured it in one sitting. I loved so much about it! I highly recommend this one and I am really looking forward to more of these Nash brothers!
Opposites attract is this sexy sweet read! I love it when a book can take me from thinking I’m not going to like a character to absolutely loving them. For me that’s the true test when it comes to an epic read and Fleeting passed that with flying colors. When I started this I almost couldn’t stand Presley and by the time I finished I felt like she was my best friend.
She grew so much throughout her and Keaton’s story. From a girl who was lost, insecure, and at times made me so frustrated I wanted to shake her for missing what was right in front of her into a woman who finally saw her true value and loving herself. Keaton on the other hand I adored from the start. As sweet as he is sexy, the man has a heart of gold and makes it impossible to not fall in love with him. These two not only grow together but also balance each other in a way that makes their relationship one you’ll remember and think of long after you’ve finished their story.
I’m now officially obsessed with all the Nash brothers and can’t wait to see what’s coming for each of them!
I’ve read many of Carrie Aarons books and enjoy her writing style. Fleeting is a sweet love story with a bit of angst. I grew up in a small rural town much like Fawn Hill, it brought back memories with the spot on feel of its townsfolk and quaint locations.
This opposites attract relationship is completely entertaining and right up my alley. The meet cute is more of a meet awkward and completely hysterical. Chance provides wonderful recurring comic relief and a reason for these two characters to be in each other’s orbit.
Keaton Nash the solid dependable unassuming small town Vet fills all my requirements for the perfect guy. He’s taken over his fathers practice and ahead of the family as the oldest of the Nash brothers. All families have their issues and tough decisions the Nash family is no different.
Presley McDaniel is a butterfly flitting from NYC job to job never sticking with anything too long. She has a good heart and loves her Grandma so when her sight begins to fail Pres comes to help her run McDaniel’s Books & Post. She meets a devastatingly handsome man and her world is turned upside down. She’s making girlfriends in town and gets talked into teaching a yoga class. She doesn’t realize she’s putting down roots, but bless her Grandmas quick wit and smart mouth she believes in Pres like nobody in her family ever has.
These reluctant lovers take us on a entertaining journey filled with funny circumstances and hot loving. I got my HEA and I’m a happy girl. Aarons has promised us a series so we get a book from each of the brothers who all have their demons and quirks. I’m pleased with Keaton and Pres so I’m ready for Bowen and Lily’s story.
Carrie Aarons’ latest endeavor brings us a whole new family of hotties, and I hope a string of women who will all give them a go for their money! If they are anything like Presley, then I know the Nash brothers are in for it. Is Presley perfect? Pssh…nope. But her imperfections and quest to find herself make her pretty awesome. And watching her figure out her direction and what she really wants? Yeah, she’s super awesome. It’s no wonder Keaton can’t get enough of her. And Keaton…I’m still swooning from Keaton! He’s the perfect blend of preppy, responsible, and naughty. He’s a gentleman in the street and a stud in bed.
The story has a sweet, fun feel to it with elements of self-exploration and responsibility. Add in a sassy grandmother, a panty-eating dog, some dynamically different brothers, and you’ve got yourself a quality read. I’m not sure who I loved most…Presley because her character development was so intense, Keaton because he has to come to grips with his assumed v. actual roles in life, or the dog. (Seriously, I laughed A LOT over that dog).
I will say that as much as I loved the chemistry between Presley and Keaton, I am CHOMPING AT THE BIT for Lily and Bowen. Aarons set up such an amazing story for the two of them, giving us hints to make us salivate. Bowen is night and day from Keaton, but darn it, I love them both.
Really, you can’t go wrong with a CarrieA book. So, add this to your TBR, pick up a copy…do whatever you need to so you can meet the Nash brothers. Oh, and enjoy!
