Esther E. Schmidt’s Flameover is a fast-paced, biker crossover, romantic suspense, standalone romance written in K. Bromberg’s Everyday Heroes Worlds project. Little white lies never hurt anyone, right? A spur of the moment decision and a little white lie leaves Kain Lawson clueless and wanting more after a one-night stand. Four years later, Kain finds his lie coming back to haunt him. After … finds his lie coming back to haunt him.
After her father’s death, Leontine is left to deal with the company he left behind and to cope with her stress, she decides to move to Sunnyville. The same town where the hot firefighter from her one-night stand lives. The little white lie Leontine told might not seem so white when covered in soot from the fire he just rescued her, and her daughter, from.
A fire throws them back together, but the heat might be too much with an arsonist risking their lives. Can they overcome the little white lies they’re both guilty of? When fire burns hot, there’s no stopping the ravenous outcome. Unless there’s a firefighter involved.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book, it is very entertaining, easy to read and is a ‘feel good’ story as well.
Both lead characters are easy to like and I really did. Zain is very alpha but how could he not be given his upbringing in the Broken Deeds MC. He is extremely protective and supportive, caring and yet although he appears controlling at times isn’t, he encourages Lee to make major decisions herself. Lee is a nurturing and supportive person too. Yet she doesn’t sit down and let Zain push his own agenda.
The element of suspense kept things hopping with arson, mystery and intrigue. Yes, it was fairly predictable in this area but there were some little twists adding some surprises. There are certainly times where you sit back and enjoy the fast paced storyline and others when you are on the edge of your seat.
I can honestly say I recommend this to everybody. What could be better than having a fireman, an MC, a millionaire or two, suspense and romance?
Boy so I love second chance romance! The best one nightstand gave them a whole new list on life. The chemistry they shared never went away, they picked it back up as soon as they see each other again and I love it. Thank You author Esther E Schmidt, this book definitely deserve more than a 5 star for sure.
Flameover…one night, fake names, passion and completely unforgettable.
Kain is a man living two lives. He is a firefighter and a powerful successful business man. When he meets a woman he is more than cautious. Leontine had shared a night she can’t forget with a mystery man 4 years ago but fate is about to step in .
Get ready for our alpha Kain to once again claim this mystery woman. This was a smoldering, sexy read !

I’m not a reviewer that rehashes the story, if you’re reading the reviews you know what it’s about. I’ll tell you what I look for in a review: what I liked (or didn’t) about the story. For me, it felt rushed and a little disconnected. The Hero is into so many things that I never really got a good feel for any of them: we didn’t spend any time at the firehouse, no time in Vegas, and very little time at the clubhouse. We didn’t really see him interact with any of the buddies/brother’s in any of the environments except brief encounters with Grady, Kain’s brother, and Kain’s parents. The same is true for our leading lady, we didn’t see her interactions with anyone either. I have not read many motorcycle club books and only saw a few Son’s of Anarchy episodes. I have minimal knowledge of the structure and hierarchy. I have no more knowledge after reading this book than I had before, leaving me feeling a little disappointed. It was a decent read, and I’m giving it 3 stars instead of less because the issues I have are my personal preferences and expectations, not a lack of skill or effort from the author. There is nothing wrong with the writing style or the plot itself. This is my first book by this author, but I plan to find the MC books to see if I enjoy them. I may even revisit Flameover after reading the rest to see if I enjoy it more.
Enjoyable, quick read with heat, heart, suspense, and a very verbal 3 year old who likes to steal scenes! : )
I loved Lee & Kain, and little Denise! I didn’t realize when I started the story that it was part of the Broken Deeds series, so I was pleasantly surprised when I realized it. That’s definitely one of my favorite MC series! Kain definitely has the uber-Alpha thing down. LOL I’m going to enjoy the second generation of this club for sure!! : )
I really enjoyed this book, my first in this Everyday Heroes World from K Bromberg.
Soon as you start this one you are hooked. Zain is one hot alpha male you can’t help but swoon for and Lee I loved her confidence. Soon as they bump into each other in the corridor the chemistry is off the charts hot.
A few years later when they reconnect the connection is still there, still insta and still hella hot. With the added suspense as to who is trying to hurt Lee, Zain’s overprotective instincts are in overdrive and the action will have you on the edge of your seat 100% hooked.
A quick hot steamy firefighter/MC/accidental pregnancy story that ticks every good romance box.
Alpha male business man/firefighter/MC member
An explosive one night stand in Vegas
Accidental pregnancy
Small town romance
Kain is sick of women only wanting him for his money, so when he bumps into Lee (Leontine) and the sparks are flying, he makes a wrong decision and gives her his friends name instead of his own. When he wakes in the morning, determined for this to be the start of something, and decides to tell Lee the truth, he finds the sheets cold and a note saying thanks.
Three years later, after the sudden unexpected death of her father, Lee moves herself and her young daughter to the small town she knows Kain lives, although she’s angry at him, after trying to contact him to tell him about the pregnancy, only to be told he was married, she wants to raise her daughter close to him. What she wasn’t expecting was to come face to face with him when her house is on fire, only to find another man answering when she says his name.
In Kain’s eyes, the past is the past and although he wishes he’d done things different and been there for his daughter from the start, now that Lee and their daughter are here, he’s claiming them, which means keeping them safe from the trouble that seems to have been following them for a while.
Great characters, a hot, racy, quick read with a bossy (sometimes annoyingly, sometimes rudely but mostly, excitingly so) alpha male, a funny, clumsy, sweet heroine, their adorable daughter and a whole host of others. A great read and a fantastic addition to the Everday Heroes World.
This was the first book I have read from the Everyday Hero’s series.
I always love me a hot romance book but i also enjoyed the suspenseful part of the book. I don’t typically go that route when reading, but I’m glad I did.
I do plan reading the rest of the series.
This was a really fun book. I think the character of Kain fit perfectly into the everyday heroes world. I could definitely see him being friends with the the Malone brothers.
Lee made a great heroine as well her admission to Kain about their first night together really surprised me. I absolutely loved it. And sorry if you want to know you’ll have to read it!
I loved the mystery of the story as well, don’t get me wrong there was plenty of steam, but solving the case made for a great bit of who done it that was allot of fun to read too.
And last but not least who doesn’t love to see a bunch of badass bikers turn into marshmallows by a three year old cutie who makes friends with stuffed pigs.
I received an ARC copy for an honest review of this book.
4.6 stars
This is one scorcher of a read that will keep you on your toes. It can be read in one sitting because once started, you will not want to put it down. There are so many layers to Kain due to his upbringing that it allows him to bring the love that Lee needs into her life and shows her what it means to have family. He is a good guy through and through combined with that take-charge attitude that one expects from an alpha male. With everything that Lee is going through, she definitely knows how to hold her own. Adding in a precious three-year-old into the mix, only serves to give readers another reason to feel good about this story. This is my first foray into the Everyday Heroes World created by K. Bromberg and I cannot wait to read more! I volunteered to read a copy of this book.
I feel like I’ve been waiting for this book forever! Literally, like 5 books ago in the series! I was so excited for Kain’s journey.
Kain has always known that he had a different path in life. Having been adopted before he could walk, he was literally born into the MC world. But, he knew he wanted more than that. He wanted and needed a connection to his past. Not only that but having watched someone close to him be one of the good guys, he knew his path was to be a firefighter. He’s an interesting guy who often wears two hats. One of a businessman who makes his presence known and won’t put up with anybody’s crap. he runs a tight ship and takes no crap. The other hat is of the no-nonsense firefighter who is one of the good ones, someone you can count on to keep you safe. Even though he’s happy with his life, he feels like he’s just existing on some levels. Until he runs into Lee, literally. She turns his world upside down.
Leontine hasn’t always been sure of where she stood with her father. Her own path had seen many roller coasters and the one she was currently on was no different. Having grown up being shipped off and away from her father, she questioned what it was to be loved and cherished. Was she missing out on certain things? Someday would she be this way too? Regardless, she does her duty and comes back to work for her father. Their relationship may be strained, but she’s learning more about him every day. She’s ready though for her life to be one of her own, and has a plan to make it happen. That is until she runs into Kain and her world tips.
When their paths cross again, it’s a mess of emotions, gifts, honesty, anger, frustration, and most of all rekindled feelings. What they have to battle next, threatens to shatter their combined worlds. But can they beat it? Can they beat the odds? Well come on, read it to find out!
This book was special to me in a lot of ways. I applaud Esther for her ability to not only make you fall in love with her characters but throw in nuggets of information that are important. There were many notes of fire safety, how things happen, etc. It gave me a reminder of someone in my past who was the same way. I also connected with an understanding more of what drove someone to be in that challenging role. So for me, this book was very special. I loved it and can not wait for the next book in the series!
Kaine was an orphaned baby and grew up in the MC World. After having a one night stand, he told a lie that definitely came to bite him again. The next morning the women is gone he has no idea how his kid would charge his life
After having a one night stand with Kaine, Lee finds out she’s pregnant but can’t get ahold of because of the fake name he gave her. Now four years later she and Kaine meet again when her house is set on fire and what a way to tell the guy you had a one night stand with that he has a daughter.
I think this was my favourite read so far in this series. I loved this authors books and because it has some MC vibe I loved. This book had me sucked in from the beginning till the end. Definitely a book I can recommend for Esther’s fans and definitely one that I will be reading again.
If you’re looking for an intense, shmekshay, intriguing, and very enjoyable read, look no further than Flameover by Esther E. Schmidt which will absolutely tick every single one of those boxes and more! Flameover exists in the Everyday Heroes World and with each book I read set in Sunnyville I fall more and more in love!
This story is all about Kain and Leontine and I am here for it! From their meet cute to the emotional rollercoaster ride of a journey that they take the reader on, it’s all worth it!
And from the very start, Kain is fascinating! He’s an onion, so many layers to peel, such hidden depths, and very pleasing to read about to boot. No holds barred and all that jazz really add to his character! He’s perhaps made some choices he might regret, but at the same time, doesn’t everyone do that at some point?
And sweet sweet Lee. I just want to bundle her up in a blanket and hug and cuddle her! She is so strong and sweet and vivacious beneath the exterior she shows the rest of the world. And Denise! Too cute!
There’s a whole lot of drama and intensity, as well as a plethora of love and friendship and devotion! This book will hit the spot, I guarantee it!
3.5 stars
When Leontine and Kain have a hot night, they’re left with unintended, and on Kain’s part, unknown, consequences. Unfortunately for both of them, neither gave each other their real name, nor did they exchange other pertinent info like oh say, phone number, etc. So it must be fate that 4 years later, one of the firefighters on the scene of her house fire is her ONS.
Kain has never regretted anything more than giving his beautiful one night goddess a fake name. Now he’s face to face with not just her, but the result of that night, and he knows one thing – he’s not letting go, of either of them, now that he’s found her again. But will he and his club be able to protect them from forces seeming intent on taking them out?
I liked the premise of this story, and the secondary characters, and Lee too, but I had a serious problem with Kain. He was bossy, not in a good way, presumptuous, and did absolutely no character growth. He’s why the 3.5 stars. Everyone and everything else is a solid 4 stars – the suspense, the chemistry between Lee and Kain, and the setting up of more stories to come.
This is a second gen story . If you remember Kaine was an orphaned baby in Depay’s book . He grew up to be the main character for Flameover. He has a one night stand and gives the woman the wrong name . When he wakes up in the morning and she is gone and he has no idea that their night together got her pregnant . Unfortunately when Lee tries to find Kain she can’t because of the fake name he gave . I love the secret baby trope and this one was a bit different because Lee wasn’t intentionally keeping the child from Kain . I loved their sweetness and their chemistry together . Their daughter was adorable and to see the original generation make an appearance as grandparents in this story was really neat to see . This author just keeps putting out fantastic stories . I have never read one that wasn’t good . This is a totally different book from any of her others and yet we still get a peak at the original Mc members . I was hooked from the first page . You can’t go wrong with an Esther Schmidt book. Pick this one up ! I am so excited to see who is going to be the focus of the next book in this series .
A great second chance romance with a single mom, and I was toast! Kain and Leontine both told some “white lies” but turns out those lies actually brought them together. I love the characters and the story just grabbed me from the beginning. The chemistry is amazing and then we also get some suspense and danger thrown in.
The new series we have all been highly anticipating from Esther the kids have grown up. Flameover is in
K Bromberg’s everyday heroes world, it’s the first book about the kids from Broken Deeds MC. This is Kain and Leontine’s story. It’s what you thought a new series from Esther would be like full of action and exciting till the very last word. I can’t wait for more from the kids. Who will the next story be about only time will tell. 5 stars
This was a short and sweet read that was a great way to combine two seperate worlds.
Was definitely (mostly) lighter than I was expecting, and wish some of the suspense had been expanded a bit but it was still an enjoyable read with lovable characters.
Would of loved to have met more of the MC like the author did in the last world she did a story for (Unruly Defender) as think just a smidge more danger and intrigue would of made this book even more amazing. In saying that this suspense junkie can’t be greedy all the time and I do know plenty of readers who would be perfectly content the way it is.
4.5 Stars
This book is seductive, suspenseful and will draw you in from start to finish! A sexy biker/firefighter who knows what he wants and how he wants it. Protective over everything, and everyone, that is his. Leontine has been through too much tragedy but she cannot outrun a past determined to find her. What happens when you discover the person you never stopped thinking about is right in front of you, and secrets come to light?? You hold on tight and fight for what you want!

I simply adored this book. Flameover is a combination between a contemporary romance and an MC Romance told in Esther’s unique way of telling a story. The book is full of fun, sass, suspense and romance. It’s one of those reads that you just smile and feel good the entire time you’re reading it – even during the suspenseful moments.
Kain is a firefighter, a member of the MC world he was brought up in as a child, as well as a very rich business owner. During a business trip he literally bumps into Leontine in his hotel’s lobby. An instant spark happens and they end up spending one unforgetting night together. But due to women pursuing Kain for his money, he gives Leontine a fake name rather than his own. Little does he know that little white lie will come back to turn his whole world upside down 4 years later. From here the story takes off on one exciting journey.
I Highly recommend grabbing up Flameover. It’s a wonderful read that you’ll be very glad you grabbed up. 2 Thumbs Up and 5+ Stars.
