When we were younger, Temperance Price was the quiet girl with dreamy eyes who hung on my every word. She was always beautiful, but I had plans to get out of Red Oak and make a life of my own. Ten years later, a crushing tragedy has brought me home again—right back to her. The innocent girl I left is gone, and in her place is a sassy single mom I can’t get out of my head. She’s hired me to fix … hired me to fix her house, but I have other things in mind.
She thinks I’m just a handyman.
She thinks we’re only friends.
She thinks I’ve never noticed her.
I think what really needs to be fixed is her whole perspective.

This was a really good, quick, read. I really liked Temperance. She was a very dogged, determined woman, who, when unsure of herself, would start to ramble. I found that highly amusing. Her daughter is ornery and adorable. I liked Asher, too. I really liked the fact that he grew as a character. While a tiny bit sad at times, overall, this is a incredibly enjoyable read.

5 amazing stars!!
This book is Miranda’s debut book??? Never would have guessed that! I so enjoyed this book! Her writing style was on point. Romance, secrets, twist what more ckuld you ask for?
The characters were entertaining and kept me wanting to read more! Tempie is a single mom trying to do what she can for her daughter. When her high school crush comes back into town what more can you do but have him come over in his tool belt.
Asher didn’t plan on being back in his home town but it has its perks. Especially when he finds out Tempie is around.
Will these two be able to fix what the other is missing in their life? Will secrets be the end? Read this book to find out!!!
This is a debut novel from author Miranda Elaine.
Temperance is a single Mom to a 3 year Ellie. She is still living in the same town she grew up in working 3 jobs to make a good life for her and Ellie.
Asher Kade is back in town after being gone for 10 years. Between a tragedy in his family and his father retiring he is home for good to take over his families business Kade Construction.
Temperance was the quiet girl from high school she crushed on the quarterback who happened to be Asher. He was aware that she had a crush on him and he returned that crush but he had plans to leave town after he graduated and did not think it was fair to pursue her.
She didn’t even know he was back in town until her best friend Leigh summoned her to her parents house. When she arrived in baggy sweats and stained shirt she panics and allows Leigh to dress her in her high school clothes. As she is leaving she comes face to face with her high school crush. She realizes that she still has the same feelings for him and while he lived in the city he didn’t have time for a relationship but he is ready now and has set his sights on her. She’s reluctant to start a relationship with him.
We begin a rollercoaster ride I was on the edge of my seat anticipating what was going to happen. Because Temperance has a huge secret that she fears will change Asher’s feelings. She did drive me crazy a little bit with her back and forth actions. I don’t want to spoil it for you so read and see what the secret is and to see if they get their HEA!!
We had some great laugh out loud moments. Especially with Leigh she was hilarious throughout the entire story but she was an amazing best friend. All the secondary character were great and added to the story. Her daughter Ellie is quite the little spitfire.
This was great single parent romance told in dual person POV’s.
Fixing Her by Miranda Elaine was my first experience with this author’s writing but it’s no wonder as it was her debut book – as I later found out.
Considering the story, the characters and the writing itself, this book was a decent read.
I got a bit annoyed with Temperance’s back-and-forth, this part seemed a bit overdone. The tension her hot-and-cold behaviour created was a tad too much. Aside from this her character was likeable even if clumsy and a hot mess in general. She was strong and fighting a good fight to raise her daughter Ellie. That little girl was simply adorable. Peanut and Muffin were so great together!
Asher too was a good male lead even if a good dose ignorant, hardheaded and quick to draw conclusions based on only half truths and misunderstandings.
They both had fine and low moments for sure. They deserved their happily ever after. I loved the epilogue.
The writing was very good, engaging and good paced. I didn’t really feel the title fitting for the story though.
For a debut story it was very well put together. Also the editing was very good, so I give extra brownie points for the team as well.
I think I will read Ms. Elaine’s future works too.
What a phenomenal book!! I absolutely loved it! I quickly made my way through these pages! I loved Asher and Temperance! The chemistry, the banter, the hotness! It was all here wrapped up in the pages of this fabulous story!
Fixing Her is the debut novel by author Miranda Elaine. It’s the story of Asher Kade and Temperance Price, or Tempie as Asher calls her. Temperance crushed on Asher while she was in high school, he was a few years older and left when he graduated and didn’t return for ten years.
Temperance grew up during that time, and learned so heartbreaking life lessons as she became a single mom and now struggles with several part-time jobs trying to make ends meet. She’s not expecting to see Asher again and is overwhelmed by how much her feelings for him haven’t changed over the years.
Asher had known all about Tempie’s crush, but he also knew his life was meant to be lived away from his small hometown, but sometimes the things we need are right where we left them. Tragedy brought him back home, but when he sees Tempie again, he knows the feelings he’d denied when he was younger aren’t going to go away.
It’s not just Temperance he wants. He is ready for the whole thing. Who could resist that little Peanut anway?
The story has a few twists and turns, one not so unexpected surprise and some very steamy, smexy times once it gets off the ground. It’s kind of a slow burner in that respect but still and really good story and one I thoroughly recommend.

Miranda Elaine’s debut novel Fixing Her is filled with emotion and nostalgia. A second chance story in a way, Temperance and Asher wait a long time to finally let their feelings be known.
Temperance was the shy, quiet girl in high school. One of many girls with a secret crush on Asher. A crush that doesn’t go anywhere but years later is still there.
Asher has always wanted Temperance, but he had goals. Mainly to leave his hometown and live in the great big world outside Red Oak. Now that he is back, the town feels more like home than ever. And Temperance is a big part of that. He’s finally going after the girl he’s always wanted.
I’m a man on a mission and that mission is to win over Temperance Price. I’m in this for the long haul. No matter how long it takes.
This was a slow burn second chance love story. Asher and Temperance’s love was a long time coming, and when it finally happened it was perfect. Temperance’s daughter Ellie was adorable and Asher was great with her. There were a few unexpected surprises in this story, but overall it was great tale about love and friendship. I really hope that Temperance’s BFF Leigh gets her own book in the future.
Fixing Her is the debut book by Miranda Elaine. This was an incredible book; I couldn’t put it down. This didn’t read like this was an author’s first book, it read like a tenth book.
Temperance is a single mom just trying to give her daughter the best life she could. Ten years ago she was a shy high school student with a crush on a popular boy, her dream guy. What she didn’t know was that Asher had a crush on her too but he was just too focused on getting out of their small town that he didn’t say anything. Now here it is 10 years later, and they are seeing each other again, Asher has a plan to get the girl. But Temperance has a secret, is the secret going to get in the way of Asher and Temperance?
What can I say about this book, you will be on an emotional high after Asher and Temperance’s story. Everything in this book was perfect from Asher and Temperance, Mother and Daughter, even Muffin and Peanut. Temperance daughter was the best scene stealer, that little girl was a spitfire she knew how to work her mom and be cute at the same time.
Fixing Her deserves more than 5 stars. Bravo, Miranda; I am so looking forward to the next book.
Fixing Her is the debut novel from Miranda Elaine, and so I was excited to read one of the newest voices in the romance community. I didn’t know the author beforehand, so I went in to this read completely blind. I’ve read a fair amount of second chance romances during 2018, and this one brimmed with potential for a great summer read.
This is the story of Asher Kade and Temperance Price. Back in high school, bashful Temperance had a crush on popular athlete Asher. As teens, they noticed each other but neither made a bold move. Asher was focused on graduating and getting out of town as soon as possible, while Temperance was several years younger and not confident someone as spectacular as Asher would give her a chance.
Ten years later, Temperance is still living in their hometown. She’s a single mother with a precocious daughter named Ellie. She has little time for a social life, focusing all her time and devotion on building a good life for Ellie. When Asher Kade unexpectedly moves back home to take over his father’s construction business, Temperance’s school girl crush returns with a vengeance. He’s sexier than ever, and this time Asher is keen to play along. He flirts without shame, yet always treats Temperance with respect and genuine interest.
Even so, Temperance is scared to pursue a relationship with him. When her best friend intercedes and finds a way to draw Asher over to Temperance’s house for some repair work, her guard finally begins to drop. The physical chemistry between these old high school acquaintances is smoldering and as they spend more time with each other, it becomes more difficult to resist temptation.
At the beginning of this book, I was convinced I was reading a classic romantic comedy, but as the story progressed, I realized there was so much more to the plot. Asher is a swoon worthy book boyfriend – caring, smart, funny, and sexy as hell. His budding friendship with Temperance and her daughter are a treat to read, and by the end of the book I was experiencing every range of emotion. Both Asher and Temperance have endured private difficulties and as their newfound love draws them closer, these difficulties fuse together in ways that strike right at the center of the reader’s heart.
By the time I finished Fixing Her I’d laughed out loud several times, fanned myself more than once, nervously chewed on a fingernail or two and shed more than a few tears. Miranda Elaine has a true talent for making the reader feel everything her characters are going through and because of this I give this book 5 enthusiastic stars.
