I’m a lot of things. The youngest Dixon. Town handyman. Best you’ll ever have . . . you’re welcome. One thing I’m not? The guy who falls in love. When Rae Jacobs enters my town with her ever-present laptop and caffeine addiction, she offers me a fleeting glance and a simple demand:Don’t fall in love with her.Bold.Assuming.Laughable, considering she isn’t exactly my type.Wasn’t.But she inadvertently … exactly my type.
Wasn’t.
But she inadvertently shook up my life with her alluring, carefree spirit until I wanted more.
Until I made her mine.
She’s a habit I can’t quit. A fix I can’t get enough of.
Each day brings me closer to saying the three words I’ve always mocked.
But with one call, the piled-high secrets she’s kept start unraveling around her, and I have a feeling the demand that first day wasn’t so simple.

Gah….I didn’t think Molly could write a book that would make me love it more than I loved From Ashes…but she has. Fix is my new Molly favorite! Small town, beautifully written characters, a few tears shed, and you have a winner in my books! I can’t wait for the next book in this new series from Molly! You will ADORE Fix! Read it!
Definitely a fav read of 2019….
If you haven’t read Fix By Molly McAdams…OMG you need to one click ASAP!!
You know my FAV thing to do is go in blind. I have been seeing ladies raving over this book so I was like…when I’m in a break between ARCs this is my next one click…best decision..It was AMAZING!!!
This is a new to me author and just WOW! My heart broke for Rae with the horrible hand life had dealt her. Sawyer had some pretty horrible trauma late in his teens. The 2 of them are broken beyond repair or are they?
Loved the way the author revealed their pasts in little increments. Rae and Sawyer are protecting themselves from being hurt again yet that is exactly what they were doing is hurting themselves. Loved Emberly and how much she supported Sawyer. These are great characters and I can’t wait to really get to know them in the rest of the series.
My new favourite series – 4.5 Stars
First in a series of small town romance stories, and yes, I’m going to be listening to the rest of this series on audio (because, Jason Clarke, need I say more – he just makes audio better).Sawyer Dixon has been badly burned, his childhood sweetheart broke his heart, he missed his shot at the NFL, and to say he has issues is an understatement. So when Rae Jacobs breezes into town, reminding him of everything he’s lost, he takes an instant dislike to her. Rae also has her issues, and let’s just say – Sawyer Dixon was never in her plan, oh, and the secrets, let’s not forget the secrets, she has a few of them. Enemies to lovers? Maybe. Small town romance? Yes. Grumpy bachelor? I’ll say. Addictive? Most definitely.
I absolutely loved this book. This was my first book by this author but it won’t be my last. I’ve already started book two in this brother series! I listened to the first half and then read the second half. I stayed up until 2am to finish because I was so sucked in.
Rae and Sawyer made me feel emotions. They both have baggage and will own up to it but only for each other. They did everything different for one another.
This book has secrets, angst, sorrow, laughs and love.
“I came here because it felt like I couldn’t breathe until I was with you.”
Sawyer is now in my top book boyfriends that everyone should get the chance to read. He’s a player just waiting for the right woman to help him love again and he gets that in Rae.
Poor Rae! Her baggage is a lot but instead of dealing with it she runs and runs far with no goodbye.
What happens when Rae stops running and Sawyer lets go of the past? A great story!
Fix by Molly McAdams Brewed Series 1
Narrated by Erin Mallon and Jason Clarke
Sawyer and Rae 5 stars
This story has all the feels…such irritability, control, sadness, abandon, fear and love. These two characters have had a huge amount of despair and I think that is what draws them closer. This is a great story about how two people can find each other when they both feel destined to never be in love. This is a stand alone but a wonderful foundation for the series. This is my first from this author and I can not wait to dive into book 2. Narration is great!!!
Sisters Spotlight
I really enjoyed this one. It’s probably one of the first I’ve read by this author and I’m looking forward to more, no question! I LOVED the characters and that’s what it takes for me to enjoy a story.
I am going to be completely honest. I haven’t read this author in five years. It had nothing to do with the author. It was more of me losing interest in reading so much romance. I own every single book of this author’s though. I decided to jump into this series on a whim, looking for something a little emotional. And I got exactly what I was looking for.
I devoured this book. It was fun. It was sweet. It was heartbreaking. It was a book that had multiple conflicts swirling through it. By the end, everything came full circle. The characters and their struggles with themselves created the most conflict. I enjoyed every last aching second of it.
This author has a knack for putting two tortured characters in the hot seat together and then have them come out together in the end in such a beautiful way. I’m questioning why I haven’t made a better attempt at getting caught up with the rest of her books over the years.
This is the first book by Molly McAdams I had the pleasure to devour, and it won’t be the last. This was an emotional, endearing, and heartfelt journey to go on with Rae and Sawyer. I loved and adored every single second of this story.
Horrible main female character. Just horrible.
Absolutely love this book! You’ll be hooked from the first chapter! Highly recommend!
When I read the blurb on this one I knew I wanted to read it. I bought it as soon as I could but put off reading it because I had so many books to read for my review group. Well, I moved a few weeks ago and cut back on the reviews and now have time to read what I want.
What I wasn’t ready for was the pain, heartache, and anguish both of the lead characters went through in their past. They were both not ready for the other to come into each others lives. But love will find you when you are not ready or you think you can’t be loved.
Rae and Sawyer are so right for each other and their story will break your heart but in the end, you will be so glad you read this one. The roller coaster ride of emotions is a lot to get through but hang on tight, it is well worth the ride.
It has been a while since I read anything from Molly McAdams, but I do love her and her writing style is one that I love. She can pull you into a story and make you feel like you are sitting in the same coffee shop. So if you haven’t read this author yet, what are you waiting for? I hope you enjoy this one too. I can’t wait to read the next one in this series.
This book. Ughhh, this booook. I, Mollys number one stalker..I mean fan, totally meant fan, have been hearing about the Brewed series since before Blackbird was released and I’ve been jonesing for it this WHOLE time.
And you know what?
It was 100% with out a doubt, worth the wait. This was how perfection was made.
Rae and Sawyer are definitely one of a kind characters, I love them, they’re both sad and broken individuals but together they’re…well, still sad and broken, but they’re also happy and all cutesy. And don’t even get me started on these side characters because oh man, I can not wait to read about the rest of the brothers.
This captivating romance had me under its spell right from the start and didn’t let go. A stunning love story that is powerfully raw, incredibly sexy, breathtakingly romantic and beautifully inspiring.
Sawyer is a broken man who is incredibly sexy, fiercely protective, and loyal. I fell hard for him. Rae is genuine, funny, very independent, and guards her heart; I adored her. From their very first encounter they are inexplicably drawn to one another. Try as they may to fight their attraction, they are powerless to stop the fall. Their attraction is magnetic and chemistry is not only off-the-charts; it is palpable. The flirting, the banter, the rapport and the sarcasm between the characters was so much fun to read, was so natural, and had me laughing often. Their passion is sizzling and explosive. Together they are magical and witnessing them fall in love is absolutely breathtaking. They share a soul-deep connection that neither can explain. They both are haunted by their pasts and being together eases their pain.
The storyline is flawlessly written and the characters are well-developed and relatable. McAdams captures the small town setting so perfectly. The emotions are palpable and just pour from the pages; I could feel everything. How they fight for each other is powerfully moving. I loved every second of this incredible story and didn’t want it to end. If you want to read a book that will make you weak in the knees and steal your breath. I highly recommend this book!
Being a small town girl, I fell into this book and truly felt the eyes and ears of everyone. Who doesn’t love the start of a new series? So many new characters to met and make connections with.
Sawyer has been going through the motions but living and enjoying life is not really what is happening. He is smack dab in the middle of a torn family that doesn’t know how to get past the pain of the loss of a great father. He has taken it upon himself to try and be there for them all even if they are willing to be there for each other. But Sawyer lost more than his dad that horrible year, he also lost the love of his life, in a tragic way. This changing his path, causing the shell that everyone knows today. Keeping himself closed off to women and feelings has been his biggest defence. But when a new woman slides into town, he is drawn to her from the first sighting.
Rae is a bit of a wander, not wanting to form attachments to people or things. Her upbringing has more than jaded this beautiful woman. Thankfully her career of a romance writer gives her the flexibility to work from anywhere. Though she stays connected with her readers, she doesn’t often give them anything about where she can be found. Running, she is always running from something or someone. When she arrived in Amber she has more than one reason for being there. Looking for some answers from her past, while leaving the last connection behind. She was definitely not prepared for Sawyer and the feelings that he brings along with him.
Fix is a perfect name for this book as these two people are both broken in their own way. The more time they spend together the more you can see the cracks starting to heal. It is not an easy love story, their are lots of bumps and dips along the way but soo worth it all in the end.
Can’t wait for more of these wonderful characters.

~ 3.5 Stars ~
Fix is an enjoyable read and the newest book by Molly McAdams. I found the storyline interesting, but it didn’t WOW me like Molly’s books have in the past.
I have read many books by Molly McAdams and I have loved them all, this I felt was missing something. I can’t put my finger on what it is, it just didn’t spark the same emotion all of her other books have in me.
I truly think my biggest problem with this book were the characters. I loved Sawyer. He was a broken man who shut himself off from love and commitment because of a tragic incident in his past. I loved watching him grow as the story went on. As for Rae, I can say I didn’t really like her much. I understand why she was broken and pushed people away, but I felt she pushed Sawyer away for way to long. She made my connection to these characters as a couple hard. So when I have a hard time connecting with a couple it makes their connection feel forced or unbelievable.
With that said I would recommend this book to all fans of Molly McAdams. I thought this was an good start to this new series. I loved that she set it in a small town in Texas. I have always loved a good story based in small towns. Molly did a fantastic job writing this story and town, she made the reader feel like they belonged in this town as well.
This book is the first book in her newest Brewed Series. This can be read as a standalone. It is told in Dual POV. I liked the flow of the story, but I felt the pace was a little slower than I usually like. Some of that has to do with Rae. This book also lacked some of the drama we have come to expect in a Molly McAdams book. That might be what I felt was missing and why this book wasn’t a 5 star read for me.
In this story we follow the journey of Sawyer and Rae. Both of these characters have serious baggage from their past, which has caused them both to push away love and commitment. Rae is a romance novelist and has come to Amber under the guise that she is researching a small town feel for her newest WIP. But she is also harboring a secret. What will happen when her secret comes out?? Will she stay in town?? Sawyer went through something tragic back in high school and it has caused him to put up walls where women are concerned. But what happens when a new person comes to Amber, Texas?? Will he be able to keep her from getting under his skin?? Read this book to find out.
I loved all the secondary characters we meet in this book. I think Sawyers brothers are rough around the edges and I can’t wait to see Molly bring out their softer side.
As I said I would recommend this book to all Molly fans. If you like a romance story that focuses on small town living and you don’t mind some flawed characters, then this is the book for you. Just because this wasn’t a 5 star read for me, doesn’t mean it won’t be for you.
When I decide to read a Molly McAdams’ book I consciously make the decision to have my heart ripped out and ran over again and again.
I just loved Fix! McAdams delivered and angsty small town romance that left me on the edge of my chair. With every page I couldn’t read fast enough but was terrified as I turned every single page, waiting for that moment. But absolutely everything about this book I loved, the plot the characters, every twist and turn was perfect!!
Sawyer Dixon and Rae Jacobs are two broken people not looking to be fixed, they are perfectly happy going through life being numb and running from anything that makes them feel. Both had traumatic things happen in their past before they were even old enough to understand how to deal with the emotions they left.
Sawyer Dixon is the town player, goes from bed to bed and never promises more than “the best fuck of their life” He jumps from bed to bed to numb the pain he’s felt everyday for the last nine years. But behind every sexy smile and good time he offers is a man who’s so damn broken.Rae Jacobs is surviving life, not living. She has let her past run her future. She goes from town to town refusing to deal with her issues.
Sawyer and Rae’s story is beautifully broken, heartbreaking and freeing. The chemistry and attraction between these two is immediate, is hot AF and just jumps right off the pages. Their feelings were strong from the start and no stopping them. They were drawn to each other like a moth to a flame. Their strange first meetings were odd and hilarious and so very strange. I mean who meets someone and immediately forces them to eat? “I don’t know your name, but you must eat this.”
With each and every page I turned I become more invested with these two. My heart ached with every glimpse into Sawyer’s past and every moment Rae pulls away. These two made me want to scream and cry and throw my kindle across the room. But as twist it wasn’t Sawyer who had me screaming WTF are you thinking most of the book it was Rae.
My heart literally broke for both of them, for Sawyer when we find out what happened with Leighton, for Rae with her family and her relationship with the words “I love you” and when everything comes out with E & T (no spoilers coming from here). To the way the way they both handled everything.
When Rae faces her past I cried happy tears!! When she faces her mother and tells her she hopes she hates her less with each and every time she sees her, I was so damn happy! And when Sawyer opened that door and she was standing there I have never loved Molly McAdams more.
Every single character has a purpose in this book, and I promise it’s not just to fill up space. They each bring something deep and meaningful to the story. I loved the plot, and every twist and turn it took.
McAdams set up the second book in The Brewed Series perfectly and I’m absolutely dying for it! If I wasn’t already a Molly McAdams fan I would be after Fix! All the stars to this angsty, perfect start to what is going to be another amazing series from her!!
If there were ever an author guaranteed to pull me out of my self-imposed reviewing retirement, it’s Molly McAdams. I’m pretty sure there is very little I wouldn’t do to read more of her words as soon as humanly possible. Even in Fix, which I would classify as one of her more light-hearted reads (but trust me, there is nothing light about the book, it’s just not quite as heart-wrenching as most of her work), my heart felt like it was being battered and bruised by the emotionally wrought journey Ms. McAdams was taking me on. There is no experience quite like reading a Molly McAdams book, and for that, I will be eternally thankful she keeps delivering these powerful pieces of art to her readers.
When I started Fix, I was well and truly on the fence about Rae, she wasn’t immediately likable, and that’s okay. As I continued reading, I slowly began to appreciate her and eventually got to the point of feeling absurdly protective of her. She had been so severely damaged the people and words that should have meant the most to her; it was no wonder she acted the way she didn’t and was so afraid to put her faith and trust in another human being. Sawyer wasn’t immediately endearing either, but he won me over much more quickly. The pain he wore was far less disguised and bled out of him in the way he lived to help everyone around him. Watching them each slowly, painfully reveal the sources of their scars was beautifully agonizing. Seeing how they finally learned to heal and put their harrowing pasts behind them gave me a sense of peace and hope. Rae and Sawyer weren’t always easy to love, but they were incredibly easy to fall for.
One of my favorite aspects of Fix was how much of a character the location was. It wouldn’t have been – couldn’t have been – the same story anywhere but in the quaint little town of Amber. Molly McAdams did an excellent job of taking me out of my front room and into the world she built in Fix. Between the cast of supporting characters, the way she made me love everything about how Amber operated, and how much the town was woven into the fabric of who Sawyer was, I felt very much connected to the picture-perfect setting of Fix.
Fix was a smart romance, it had just the right amount of snarky humor and agonizing emotions to keep me fully enthralled in Rae and Sawyer’s story. Ms. McAdams delivered a great beginning to her new series, Brewed. She gave me just enough of a glimpse into the characters who will be featured throughout the rest of the series to ensure I will be coming back, time and again, to the town of Amber to endure all the pain and love she surely has in store for me.
5 Finding Peace in Real Life Mayberry Stars!!
What an emotional journey this book takes us on. Rae and Sawyer are both damaged in one way or another and have developed ways to protect their hearts from ever hurting again. Going into this book I knew to expect a rollercoaster ride, because this book is one that takes us back to Ms. McAdams roots (I totally “borrowed” this wording) in the most amazing way!
Rae is a woman that makes a stop in Amber, TX and why we think she’s there and why she’s really there are two very different reasons. What’s very clear is this town is the epitome of small town America, aka a real life “Mayberry” where everyone knows everyone and their business.
Sawyer on the other hand is a lifelong resident of Amber and as we come to find out, his “Mayberry” isn’t that idyllic. My heart hurt for this man in ways I wasn’t sure I could truly handle. He’s built a wall around himself that he feels will keep him from being hurt again. But the minute Rae enters Amber both their worlds are turned topsy-turvy for very different reasons!
I loved their back and forth banter especially when you can feel their draw to each other. She definitely feels something for him but cannot understand some of the why’s of their conversations. I truly didn’t either but as the book progresses, everything comes to light and oh my heart! I could feel both their pain and agony. I could finally understand what they were both protecting themselves from.
Ms. McAdams develops this story in such a way that we’re taken to the past at just the right moments to shed a ray of light on the story. And WOWZA is there a surprise for us as we get further into the book. I was shocked to say the least.
This book moves at an amazing pace to get us to some very pivotal moments in these characters lives, while at the same time giving us a story that we can sink our teeth into. There’s a cast of secondary characters that are key to this story and this series. There’s also family in so many connotations that while my heart may have been broken at one point it was pretty much put back together again by the end. There’s still so much to discover at Amber, TX and its residents and I can’t wait for the next book in this series!
The craziest storyline that kept me guessing! After a tragic childhood that moved into adulthood, Rae has lived her life never getting close to anyone out of fear that when she loves someone or they love her, they end up leaving shortly after. Moving on and running away from the last guy who didn’t follow her rules, she ends up in a small town that while she hates small towns, ends up staying. The reasoning behind her staying blew my mind but it took almost the entire book to show the connection. While there, she meets Sawyer, who has had some tragedy in his life as well, and it has made him jaded regarding relationships. As Sawyer continues to push Rae’s limits and the reasoning behind how she lives her life, they end up developing a relationship and falling in love. Everything blows up when Rae finally confronts the reason as to why she stayed in town, and subsequently leaves after Sawyer confesses his love. Thankfully, the pair have a great group of friends and family and they work together to push these two to realize they’re perfect for each other no matter the past. This book was such an emotional roller coaster and the character of Rae was so complex it literally blew my mind! I couldn’t get enough of this book and can’t wait for another in this book universe!
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
