Fisher,I guess this is it, huh? After fourteen years together, starting a life of our own on this island, five deployments and countless letters I’ve written you through it all, I finally go out to the mailbox and see something I’ve always dreamed of: an envelope with your handwriting on it. For one moment, I actually thought you’d changed your mind, that all the awful things you said to me were … to me were just your way of coping after everything you’d been through. I was still here, Fisher. I was still here, holding my breath, waiting for you to come back even though you told me you never would. You always said you’d find your way back to me. Out of all the lies you’ve told me, this one hurts the most. Enclosed you will find the signed divorce papers, as requested.
I hope you find what you’re looking for. I’m sorry it wasn’t me.
Lucy
To get the ending they want, Lucy and Fisher will have to go back to the beginning. Through the good and the bad, they’ll be reminded of why they always made their way back to each other, and why this time, one way or another, it will be the last time.

Hands down my ABSOLUTE FAVORITE Sivec book and that will never change. This book is a beautifully written second chance romance that I highly recommend.
I could not put this book down. Literally.
I sat and read this from beginning to end without moving.
Fabulous!
Oh My Heart. My poor heart was broken for at least half of this book. The things that Fisher went through and kept to himself had me in tears. I am so glad that this was duel POV because I wouldn’t have been able to handle this book from one or the other. Lucy and Fisher were everything. They knew that they were it for each other but it took so much for them to get to a place where they could communicate and understand the needs that they had. They were so young when they got together and all of his tours overseas just broke him. Hearing all of his PTSD struggles were so hard, but it is something we all need to think about. We have no idea what is going on inside someone else’s head. I wanted a marriage reconciliation book and this delivered. I am glad I went in blind because I usually stay away from heart wrenching books unless I don’t know what I am getting myself into. This book was beautiful.
Fisher’s Light
By: Tara Sivec
Narrated by: Andi Arndt, Zachary Webber
Tara Sivec has written a beautiful story surrounding Lucy and Fisher and their struggle to find their new normal. Fisher has returned from active duty and acclimating to civilian life is not easy. With PTSD, he has real issues but his communication skills are negligent and lead to broken dreams for Lucy. Being high school sweethearts and and married young, Lucy doesn’t know any different than being with Fisher and doesn’t want to. But now forced into new situations, life has to take new turns. Sivec takes us through their journey, from their first meeting to the present, feeling the emotional pull with glimpses into their past and how it effects their future. The beginning of this book was high passion and emotionally charged, but I did find as the story progressed, it lost steam. Their lack of communication being the most frustrating issues, the ending fell a little flat. With that being said though, the story is well written, has great characters, like Fisher’s grandfather, Tripp and the narration by Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt is impeccable.

Wow! What a heartstirring, angst-ridden journey I just embarked on!
FISHER’S LIGHT is a beautifully penned novel by new to me author Tava Sivec, brought to life by the excellent narrations of Zachary Webber and Andi Arndt.
I really enjoyed this emotionally charged second chance romance—it gave me all the feels and held my heart in a vice grip. I was particularly moved by Fisher’s gutwrenching struggle to reacclimate after his military deployment and how his haunting demons ultimately derailed his marriage to his one truelove, Lucy. And the scenic, small-town coastal setting was absolutely gorgeous!
But, unfortunately, the story fizzled out a bit for me in the second half where the focus shifted from Fisher’s struggle to overcome ptsd and his determination to heal his fractured relationship with Lucy to petty misunderstandings and contrived romantic angst which could have been cleared up with better communication. I felt that the reunion was too drawn out and Lucy’s confrontational attitude and unwillingness to forgive rankled bit. I get that she changed after their split but preferred the softer, sweeter version of her in the first half.
That said, I did love how the story was juxtaposed between the present and the past to establish a rich history between the MCs and provide a deeply resonant backstory of how they first met and fell in love. And the rough and dirty sexy times were SMOKING HOT! I also adored the secondary cast of characters , especially wise old Tripp, and thought the epilogue was breathtaking!
So despite some bumps in the road, I enjoyed this swoony audio and look forward to more from this talented author!
Holy moly cow this book was amazing. This first half of the book I spent with tears in my eyes and my heart hurting. As I was reading it at 2 am (I was mentally chanting “just one more chapter” ) I didn’t want to stop reading. I couldn’t believe what was unfolding between Lucy and Fisher, and I felt a crap ton of feels as stuff was going down.
“To get to the good, sometimes you have to live through the bad.”
I loved both characters so much. They both fought the good fight for their love. I also enjoyed the island. I really felt like I was living there with everyone else. This was such a great book! *sniff*
Fantastic story, I literally could not put it down. Fisher’s story is heartbreaking, sexy and romantic. I normally hate books that go back and forth between times but Tara Sivec does this beautifully in everything she writes, with transitions so seamless you barely notice because you’re too busy devouring every detail of the story.
After reading the synopsis for this book I knew it was going to be an emotional one. I usually don’t read books like this. You know, the ones with the sweet boy next door kinda guy. BUT THIS! OMG! I am so glad I did. It was everything and then some.
“I should have realized that she was my light. She was everything bright and beautiful about my life and it went to shit after she left.”
Fisher and Lucy meet when they are in high school and get married a few years later. He between then joins the Marines. He has many many deployments and that can cause problems for anyone and their relationships with their loved ones. Having family in the military I have seen it first hand. Tara did an outstanding job portraying this aspect of the story. This story tells the tale of the fall out of those deployments, Fisher’s PTSD, and how it affected everyone he loved.
“I will do whatever it takes to find the man she once loved and bring him back to her.”
I started this late last night and got a few chapters in and then had to cut myself off so I could get some sleep. That was hard to do lol. Then I started it again right after I sent the little people to school. I read the entire thing today. It was all I did. I could.not.put.it.down. I was so consumed with reading this book. Tara had me so wrapped up in these two peoples lives and their story I ate and read all day. Nothing else.
“I will do everything I can to keep my promise to Lucy. I will always find my way back to her.”
Tara well done. You made me fall in love with the boy next door. I don’t do that. I love the ass holes, the cocky boys, the bad boys ya know. Fisher was…god he was amazing. This book was something I needed to read that I didn’t realize I needed. Thank you.
“I told her to come to the lighthouse whenever she was feeling sad. I told her that no matter where I was in the world, no matter what time of the day, I would know she was here and I would see the beacon from the lighthouse in my mind, guiding me back home to her.”
Pick this up. I’m not even playing here. You NEED this book.
Ms. Sivec is a dangerous writer. She does romantic comedy exceptionally well. She does romantic suspense incredibly well. Then there is Fisher’s Light and I can’t seem to place this in a category since, well, it needs a genre all of it own.
Fisher’s Light is more than just a story about second chances. This is about two people who have history. A story about a love that fractured by time, yet finds it way back through hope and faith. It’s about how coming home is knowing you have a place to leave your heart at.
Saying just how much I loved this book won’t do it any justice. This is a story, a journey you need to read and experience all on your own. I picked it up and couldn’t find a way to put it down since it had me wanting more and more. My recommendation? Find a comfortable place to start this story, you’ll be there a while. Grab a box of tissues since there are heartbreaking moments and scenes. Have the number of your favorite fast food place that delivers because you’ll forget that you need to stop and eat.
This is a MUST read!!
