I liked this story and the characters are well written. Kronos falls to Earth and Jess finds him. She’s never seen a blue-skinned alien and he even saves her life. This is a hot, sexy alien encounter!!
I really liked this story, as in, I wouldn’t put it down until the end! I love the world building, the characters that are brought to life by Enid Titan. I enjoy how she has different types of aliens that are compatible with humans and are somewhat humanoid. No lizard guys yet. And of course the heros in her stories are totally devoted to their mates and in sometimes, like in this story, they have a little somethin-somethin extra for their mates! ;-}
This is the second story in the First Contact Captives: An Alpha Quadrant series. You don’t have to read the first story, First Contact Captives: Vidar, to understand this story. It does give a bit of information, but it is included in this story to. In this series, there are aliens that want to include Earth as an ally but they first have to see how the people of Earth react to them. They are supposed to be captured to see how they are treated.
In this story, his ship is thrown off course and ends up in Alaska. Good thing this alien, Kronos, is from a frozen planet. He is instructed to observe the humans in the nearby town. He is drawn towards one female, Jessica, when her dreams call out to him. His race are telepathic. He was told that some Earthlings could have telepathic abilities so they could possibly be viable mates.
Jessica was born in Alaska and if something doesn’t change, she will die there too. Her father is a drunk and is abusive to both her mother and to her. When she ran away at 16, he came and dragged her back and then beat her again. At 20, she left and was able to stay away. The only place she could find to live is in a trailer with two other women. Both of them drink, use drugs and sleep around. With Jessica’s job, she is able to pay her bills, and maybe have a little left for food and such. When she goes camping with her roommates, she didn’t know that there would be three guys there too. Being from a small town, she knows the guys. One is a second cousin and one is a lecherous creep, Taylor. With only three two-person tents, she will have to share with someone and she won’t have it. When she goes into the woods to relieve herself, Taylor follows her and tries to molest her. A super tall blue guy comes to her rescue. When she starts to freak out, he tells her that she is safe, telepathically.
Kronos is on this mission to Earth by request from his friend Prince Titan. When he is drawn towards the Earth girl Jessica from her dreams calling him, he then keeps an eye out for her. When he comes to her rescue, he then realizes that she can hear him. He goes back to her the next morning so she can decide the fate of the guy her attacked her. He takes her to his ship, she sees that Taylor is alive, but Kronos and Jessica are physically drawn to each other, along with being telepathic with each other. He lets Taylor go, then releases her into the woods near their campground. He keeps an eye on her for her protection and when she is kicked out of the trailer because Taylor lied about her, Kronos comes to the rescue.

Fab read
Kronus takes a human mate!
by sewsummore
Jess was a woman with a painful past, she was determined to make something of herself instead of becoming like her two housemates, selling themselves for sex, booze and drugs. When an encounter with a friend turns nasty she is rescued by an alien who communicates with her by telepathically. Kronus was sent to Earth to watch and learn about it’s inhabitants but could not let harm come to the woman he had been watching for some time. She was a partial telepath and was able to hear his thoughts when he sent them. She fascinated him and when they touched something unexpected happened and he sensed her feelings as she sensed his. Bliss flowed between them and when he made love to her the unexpected happened and they became mated for all time. I love a good sci-fi romance and this one captivated me. Kronus had waited many years for his mate but he never expected it would be to someone other than Deveron like himself. Jess was a survivor, she was a woman who told it how it was and never held back. Kronus with his superior telepathic abilities was able to discern his mates personality, strengths and weaknesses. His care and their mating was a revelation for Jess whose childhood was full of pain and violence. An enjoyable read I have no hesitation in Recommending!

Watch and Observe
Life of hard knocks is how Jess grew up. You know how when you live somewhere are your life and there does not seem to be any chance of escape because the place is so small and earning enough money is not possible that is the type of place she is from.
Kronos seems to play an important part in his worlds ruling family but chafes at the restrictions placed on him while on a mission.
For the most part I enjoyed the story line but there were times I felt something important was missing from the story. It did not flow as smoothly as expected but was still worth reading.

I like the cover with it’s alien visual look. Vidar and Minnie are a good mix as he is alien and she, a human. Minnie has not had a good experience with human men and is weary of it all. Vidar is sent down to earth to study everything. The drama continues from there. Must read.
this is a great alien romance with tons of action, adventure, steam and emotion, the characters will grab you from the beginning and pull you right into the world that the author weaves and you will feel as if you are right there living this adventure with them.
