An old-world vampire with a dark secret meets a young high school teacher with a secret of her own, and the two of them are inexplicable drawn to one another in a way neither understands. They quickly realize that, one way or another, their lives will never be the same.Terrance: What the hell is it about Diablo Falls? This damn town is crawling with the types I make a habit of avoiding: shifters, … habit of avoiding: shifters, demons, angels, and yes, vampires. I have no idea what compelled me to come here, but I can’t leave until I’ve figured out. And as long as I’ve got time on my hands, I’m going to indulge myself in getting a little taste of what Diablo Falls has to offer—if you know what I mean. But when I meet Sagan, my world flips upside down and things instantly get complicated. Does anyone know an easy way to tell the woman you’re falling in love with that you’re a vampire?
Sagan: I’m fresh home from college and less than two months into my teaching career. I’m also thinking maybe it’s time I finally give up my V-card, after years of being driven by an overwhelming desire to wait for the right guy. So when I’m left hanging on a date and this tall, charming, sexy AF man comes to my rescue, I take him up on his offer of a drink or two. Then things heat up between us and I realize I failed to mention that I’m a virgin, but something tells me Terrance will find out soon enough. I just hope he doesn’t turn out to be just another jerk who’s hiding a secret side.

First Class is a great paranormal short about fated mates Terrance and Sagan. Terrance is a vampire and Sagan a human and when they meet they realize there is something intense pulling them together. This is a well written, entertaining read and a great addition to the Diablo Falls Paranormal Short series. Unexpected twists, great characters and an ending that left me wanting more make this a great book.
Drawn to Satan Stumbles and your soulmate
I enjoyed the story of Sagan and Terrance in First Class by Damon Kinney. This is the first book by Damon and is part of the Diablo Falls Paranormal series of short stories with Bite Club.
Terrance is a 1,100 year old vampire that was drawn to Diablo Falls but he dies not know why. There was just a need that he had to be there so he left his home in Paris, France and he rented a house on the outskirts of Diablo Falls for the summer in an attempt to find out why.
Sagan is a 21 year old, Eighth grade world and American History teacher. She was born and raised in Diablo Falls and after college came back to teach.
These two are both drawn to each other but in different ways and for different reasons. Terrance initially thinks he will just feed on her blood, which quickly turns to wanting to bed her and then bite her, which then progresses to bedding her and just taking a sip of her and so on. Sagan in the mean time just thinks Terrance is the most beautiful man she has ever seen. Due to a bad date with a werewolf Sagan is left at a restaurant alone when said werewolf leaves her at the table and Terrance steps in to keep her safe in the parking lot while she waits for her Uber. One sharing of the Uber later and they are having drinks at the El Diablo Bar which leads to a date the next night. Their relationship moves at the speed of light and they are quickly declaring their love for each other and wanting a forever…………Terrance wants to make Sagan his own, which means turning her into a Vampire to be with him. I mean it all makes sense when you discover they are true soulmates.
This story is fun and interesting and held my attention. I wanted to know what Terrance was going to do next as he just seemed to change his mind so quickly when it came to Sagan.
So here is my complaint with this book……….the real apparent lack of proofreading and a good editor. I just kept finding a lot of errors throughout the book. Everything from words and part of sentences or thoughts completely missing to words in wrong places, spelling mistakes, grammar, mix of tenses (even in the same sentence), etc. I would have rated this book much higher had these things been fixed and especially since it is a short story. With the being said I will also say that I will pick up another book by this author.
I received a free ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
From a DUD of a Date… To a “First Class” Rescue, She’s Gett’n Some “First Class” Treatment In Diablo Falls!
It’s NOT Lion, Tigers, & Bears… Ohhh MY!
Not in Diablo Falls AnyWay,
Cuz HERE… It’s MORE like Fae, Witches, Shifters, Angels, Demons, & of Course a few BloodThirsty Vampires thrown into the fray of this “First Class” Mix!
But for this Innocent Teacher…
There can ONLY be ONE!
As She’s been Saving that First Time for a “First Class” kinda Guy!
WHO knew He’d be the kind that could also Drink Her Dry!
But when it’s ALL said & DONE…
Will She be given a “First Class” HEA!?!
I was granted, via B00|{$P®0UT, an ARC of the Bite Club & Damon Kinney’s “First Class (A Diablo Falls Paranormal Short Story).” I recommend this book to others based upon its own recommendations. All opinions expressed within this review are uniquely my own & freely given!
Until next time… Happy Reading!
Drawn to destiny
I enjoyed this quirky little book. The characters are both leery at first, but drawn to each other by something magical. The author took us on the journey to their HEA with a few twists and turns and some shockers at the end. All before setting us up for book two, which I can’t wait to read. I think this book is one you are not going to want to miss.
A Different Kind of Second Chance Romance
Terrance Delacroix is a millennial old vampire, new to Diablo Falls. He doesn’t know why he is there. For the last decade he the town has pulled him to it until it became an overwhelming need to visit.
Sagan Raferty is a 22 year old, human, 8th grade history teacher. Born and raised in Diablo Falls. She is rescued from a disastrous date by Terrance. Terrance’s first thoughts were a feed and Sagan needed something to make her forget. The few hours spent in the bar together just made them crave each others company more.
Instead of seducing, feeding and moving on. Terrance, plans a romantic date. Sagan is quickly falling for him. There is something about Sagan’s name that stirs a memory. When he finds the answer, there is nothing that will stop him from making her his.
A sweet and steamy second chance romance, that ends in a sort of cliffhanger and the promise of a part 2. Surprised by that. Looking forward to a continuation of their story.
First Class by Damon Kinney is part of the Diablo Falls short story series. In this short story, a woman named Sagan gets dumped at a fancy restaurant by her date then meets another man named Terrance who takes her out for a drink to make her feel better. This is a wonderful sweet and sensual tale where a human and vampire are drawn together because they share a fated mate bond. This is a great quick read that I thoroughly enjoyed. First Class is a sweet and sexy forever mate story.
I have really loved all the Diablo Falls stories. I love all the different paranormal beings all meshing together along with humans. Most of the humans are not in the know. There are demons, fae, shifters, witches, angels and vampires all rubbing shoulders with humans without them even knowing.
Sagen is a teacher in Diablo Falls. She is twenty-five and has been holding her V-Card for someone special. It’s not like she believes that she has to be married first, just that the first man should mean something to her, not just a hook-up. After dating a guy for two weeks, on their third date she tells him she is a virgin and he gets all upset like she said something really bad. Geeze, what is his problem? Most guys would feel honored, but no, he has to make a big scene at the fanciest restaurant in Diablo Falls. She always wanted to eat there, so I guess she won’t for a while more. When this very good looking suave looking man shows up to asks how I am doing and waits for my ride, I don’t know what to do. My Knight in shiny Armani. We go to a pub to get a drink and food. Then he asks me out again and again.
Terrance is a 1500+ year old vampire. He lives mainly in Paris, but has homes and condos all around the world. He has had a strong pull to go to Diablo Falls for a long time, but now, he needs to drop everything and go, without even knowing why. The food choices there aren’t too many, so instead of a greasy burger he is going to the other extreme to a pretentious restaurant. After ordering three meals he watches as another couple comes in. The male is a shifter and the female is human, but OMG she is beautiful. Terrance has great hearing, even for a vampire so he kind of listens in to their conversation. This is their third date and she was just informing her date that she is a virgin. The guy gets all huffy and stomps out of the place leaving her just as they started to eat. Terrance is pulled to her and tries to console her and they go to a pub to have a drink and a burger, since she hadn’t been able to eat before her date left. The more they see each other, the more he is drawn to her.

What he never expected was to find Sagan and to want her so much. When he overheard her date getting made because of her inexperience and leaving her at the bar he knew that he had to make his move. Sagan couldn’t believe how her date turned out but was surprised by Terrence and when she got home couldn’t stop thinking about him. So much depth in a short story
Sagan and Terrence are wonderful! This paranormal love story had so much depth for a short. I devoured it. It does end with a bit of a cliffhanger. Hopefully all will be answered in Book 2.
This book is part of the wonderful new world of Diablo Falls a multi author world brought to us by the Bite Club and each Novella length novel introduces to more of the magic and mayhem that is Diablo Falls
This sis the story of Terrance a vampire and Sagen a new school teacher Terrence a centuries old vampire suddenly feels a urge to leave his home in Paris and head to the town of Diablo Falls and his worse fears are confirmed the town is full of supernatural beings so what has called him to this town. When at a restaurant one night he is drawn to help a woman who has been deserted by her date Sagen The attraction between them is instant and he thinks she will make a tasty meal that is until he kisses her then he realises she is so much more but why does she feel so familiar. This is a super quick read that will have you turning the pages as fast as you can but be aware it does end on a cliff hanger with only a HFN.
Another good story in the A Diablo Falls Paranormal Short Story series by an Author I have not read before. This book does end on a cliff-hanger and I know I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
This is a short read. It does say have chapter 14 – 16, but it is just the same as chapter 11 – 13. It also leaves you wondering what is going to happen in the end. Terrance is being drawing to Diablo Falls, but he does not know why. Sagan is on a date with Brian and when she tells him she is a virgin, he walks out on her. Terrance decides to talk to her to maybe take her blood, but something is stopping him. Will they get together? What will she do if she finds out he is a vampire? What will Terrance do if he knows she is a virgin? Will he drain her or keep her?

It was a good addition to the Diablo falls series. I quite enjoyed seeing the familiar scenes and people from previous stories and found Terence and Sagan’s story fitted into that world quite well. I look forward to seeing how the two continue on their journey and how much Sagan’s live will change over the next year.
