Seventeen gruesome killings across the United States, within a span of six months and there was one clear connection among victims. They were all book authors. While media was decorating the murders with sensationalist stories, and law enforcement was playing catch-up, the homicidal maniac remained elusive and secretive. Things got very interesting, however, when one day she decided to appear on an internet talk show for an honest fireside chat. Her reason for being on this show was not a quest for fame, but something much more disturbing.
Suvaal weaves a fast-paced, dark, serial killer tale. It’s a story which is intense in parts yet comic on the edges and keeps the reader hooked in. A psychological thriller with a female protagonist.

How do you bring yourself to write a review of a story about a reader that murders writers who publish their work without performing the proper due diligence of editing for grammar? That’s just intimidating.
But it is also an entertaining and funny story! Seventeen murders down and now the Grammar Nazi Serial Killer is a guest on Courtney X’s dark web talk show. With its interview style format, author Ryan Suvaal unfolds a thriller of a tale of horror that will also make the “Grammar Nazi” in you laugh out loud (and wonder if maybe it isn’t time to brush up on your own skills.)
I couldn’t possibly give this story fewer than five stars. I wouldn’t dare.
At one time all Language teachers have felt that they could strangle the next person to split an infinitive or misuse a pronoun or punctuation marks.
Grazine, the main character in this book is someone who reads frequently and became fed up with the multitude of grammar mistakes and typo’s found in many of the books that are available today. The book is set in the future and shows that grammar and proofreading will continue on the downward curve it has been on the last few years.
In the second part of the story, our murderer is a guest on the Dark Web, where she explains why she murders and the identity of her next target. The audience tries to find hidden meaning in her killings but ultimately it comes down to the fact that people write as they like without bothering to proofread before they publish and that it is unacceptable for someone that is a “grammar puritan”, as she calls herself.
This much I am sure of, the author must have read too many books with errors and just snapped. I know that when I read some of the ‘free’ ebooks I just read over the mistakes as it feels there are too many to report and then, why bother? If we report all the mistakes, then the author does not need to proofread, we will do it for free!
The time spent reading this was time well spent. If you would like a short comical (maybe not to all) break then I suggest you read this. And if you have ever felt like murdering grammar criminals, now you can read about doing it and not dream about doing it yourself.
* DISCLAIMER: this book was sent to me by the author in exchange for an honest review.
A fun, quick read about a psychopath (who goes by Grazine), that absolutely despises the use of incorrect grammar and makes authors pay for it.
Even though she kills people, Grazine is a very likable, funny and, to some extent, relatable character and I truly wish the author would turn this into a series of short stories / a series of books.
This should definitely be on everyone’s TBR list!
A huge thank you to the author for sending me this. I had so, so, so much fun reading it!
A serial killer is stalking and offing authors because of grammatical mistakes. Not only that- she is killing them in ways that represent the errors they made in their work. This was a wacky, although intriguing & somewhat humorous, novella with cringe worthy murder scenes that reminded me of the Morgan Freeman-Brad Pitt movie, “Se7en.” It was a quick, easy read that has me wondering if I made any grammatical errors in this review…
I received a review copy of this ebook. All opinions are my own.
I found this story funny and definitely different but I wish it would of been longer because it would of been great. The writer created such an incredible storyline you had to keep reading to find out more…
PS…. I need more
Okay, so I am going to keep this short because this story is only 23 pages long. So as you may expect this story is a conversion with a Serial Killer that has gained the name Grammar Nazi Serial Killer. I listen to a number of podcasts and found that this story felt just like one. I was stopped in the middle of reading this and when I came back I picked up my phone to continue it only to realize that it was a book I was reading and not a podcast. I have today that has never happened to before and I take it as a good thing. If this sounds interesting to you in any way I would suggest you pick it up.
