Amelia and her boyfriend are working on turning the lighthouse into a museum, Megan is trying to open a match making business while a divorce is in the works with her husband Brian. Clara, the youngest has a chance in her teaching and is trying to help each of her older sisters with their projects.
The story is full of family secrets and mystery. You need to read this series in order to follow the storyline.
I enjoyed reading Fireflies in the Field. The continuing saga of the Hannigans kept me reading late into the night. I recommend this book and the series. I look forward to the next book by Elizabeth Bromke. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
Although I didn’t enjoy it quite as much as the first two, this story is still a wonderful addition to the Hannigan sisters series. Now that Kate and Amelia seem to have found their destinies, Megan is trying to figure out where she belongs. Can she and Brian save their marriage? Is a new career in her future? I’ve enjoyed taking these journies with the Hannigans. I can hardly wait for the culmination and Clara’s story.

Join me in getting to know the Hannigan sisters better in this installment of the series. These are lightweight romance with a lot of other stuff mixed in too. With each book we get to know the characters better and find out more about mysteries that continue to follow.

So far this has been my favorite book of the series! A lot of stuff going on in this book The author brings it all together well. Characters are well-developed and continue from one book to the next without lapses in the storyline. I’m looking forward to reading the next week one.

A strong family story with a lot of drama but also a lot of love. 3 sisters who return to where they grew up after their mother died and fill their lives there with their partners and children. An almost divorce, the youngest who grew up as a sister but is actually a daughter of one of the sisters, finding their way to happiness with all the obstacles that come with it. The story is told from the perspective of the 3 sisters. The story also interweaves the mystery of the disappeared father. Overall a great book. Even though I had not read earlier parts, the story provides enough leads to understand the dynamics. I give this book a 4.5 star

Fireflies in the Field continues the lives of the Hannigan sisters in Birch Harbor. This book focuses on Megan as she explores her marriage and life’s purpose. More secrets regarding Nora Hannigan are revealed, as the sisters still work to uncover the fate of their father
I love how each book we get to know one of the sisters deeper as well as learn more about the others along the way so you really get to know them and what makes them tick. The fact that more is also uncovered in each book about the history of their family and get more clues on what happened to their father interwoven within the story too makes it even more addictive. I have so much respect for Megan now along with her husband Brian although it was touch and go there for a while on how I felt about both, but it just goes to show your never to old to make a dream come true. I am still irked with how Clara is treated as I feel like they swept her secret under the carpet and are ignoring it without really taking into account what Clara wants or how she feels so I get Clara being standoffish to them and still feeling like an outsider!!

Ms. Bromke has given us another sweet and heartwarming story with the Hannigan sisters. If you are new to the Birch Harbor series, I would recommend you read Book 1 and Book 2 first, as this story picks up at the end of Book 2. This book primarily focuses on Megan’s story. There were a lot of emotions that played out in this book as Megan makes some very important decisions about her life and what she really wants. It was nice catching up with the other sisters and getting updates on their lives. Ms. Bromke has such a unique writing style. As you read her stories you really feel like you are part of it yourself. She gives us such wonderful and endearing characters and her writing really brings the story to life. I’ve absolutely loved this series so far and I’m really looking forward to reading Clara’s story. A really charming series!

Fireflies in the Field is the third book in A Birch Harbor Novel series and is an engaging read.
This book starts where Lighthouse on the Lake left off and follows the Hannigan sisters with the main focus on Megan. The Birch Harbor series is the epitome of family, friendship and love. The characters are wonderful as is the storyline. These books are such easy, laid back reads. So enjoyable! I’m anxious to find out what happened to Wendell and to see Clara, Kate and Matt connect more. Fingers crossed that we will see that in book 4. I see a beautiful ending to this series in the future. I have a feeling these books will stick in my memory for years to come.
Changes among the Hannigans are ongoing. Sarah seems to be working out how to fit in, and making some mistakes along the way – poor Clara.
Clara is working on her own fitting in, and getting to know the man she never knew as her father, while still negotiating the sisters who are her aunts and mother
Nothing too simple for these ladies , sorting relationships, careers and family
Mysteries and drama aplenty!

The sisters had a secret very well kept by their mother till almost her death. The islanders were a tight knit community and although they welcomed the tourists they were not so much forthcoming to new residents. When all the sisters decide to move back to the island and open business the problems started. At the same time all of them were reviewing their relationships with their partners, what they wanted for their future, and the relationship among themselves. The characters are very relatable and I´m sure many readers have similar questions as they do in the story. All these topics together added up to very endearing characters make an enjoyable reading.

The Hannigan sisters are back together in Birch Harbor, working together to build their businesses. There is match-making magic in this fourth book of the series. Love begins to grow between couples, in spite of the secrets and frustrations in the small town, like fireflies seeking their mates.
I admired the way the sisters kept their love for each other strong even with conflicts, and proved that family is the most important part of life. At times this book was a bit difficult to follow since much was assumed, but I truly enjoyed it!
