Dragons. Right. Teenage girls don’t believe in fairy tales, and sixteen-year old Elena Watkins was no different.Until the night a fairy tale killed her father. Now Elena’s in a new world, and a new school. The cutest guy around may be an evil dragon, a Prince wants Elena’s heart, and a long dead sorcerer may be waking up to kill her. Oh. And the only way Elena’s going to graduate is on the back of … the back of a dragon of her own.
Teenage girls don’t believe in fairy tales. Now it’s time for Elena to believe – in herself.
Q. Tell us what the novel/series is about.
A. Firebolt is the first novel in the series. It’s about a sixteen-year-old girl, Elena Watkins, who is taken to a world called Paegeia. She learns the hard truth that once you enter you can never leave. The key to Paegeia’s survival comes in the form of a formidable sword that was stolen. The series is about bravery, growing, finding herself and where she belongs, and becoming the person she is meant to be, mixed in with loads of dragons, magic and romance. I personally have a thing for dragons. If the fictional kind existed, I would probably have a colony. The dragons I created for my world shifts into humans, not the other way around, as they are born dragons, or hatched out of an egg. The setting is modern but with an epic fantasy feel. I decided to go this route because all the other dragon stories I love, when done in a fantasy world, usually plays off in the medieval times. I wanted something more modern, so I wrote it. I’ve worked really hard on the story line and have been told many times that it’s a really great series and fans read them over and over.
Q. What order should the series been read in?
Firebolt
Venom (novelette)
Thunderlight
Frostbite
Poison (Novella)
Moonbreeze
Starlight
Venom and Poison are actually chunks of deleted scenes from Thunderlight and Moonbreeze that slow down the novels. I ended up turning them into a novella and a novelette.
Q. Why should readers buy the series?
A. I spent years crafting it, and turning it into the best it could be. The heroine isn’t very strong in the first novel, she is a normal teenager with fears and doubts, just like every other human her age. It’s filled with adventure, an academy that hovers in the sky, 11 dragon breeds, a kick ass prince who obviously steals Elena’s heart and a bad boy Alpha dragon. And all of that is mixed with magic, spells, gaining abilities around the age of seventeen and taming dragons. Who can ask for more?
Q. I don’t have time to read because of little time in my busy day to day schedule, is there a way to listen to this series on audio.
A. Glad you asked. Yes, Tantor Media has developed the Dragonian Series into audios.
The wonderful, and I mean she is really wonderful as a narrator, Erin Moon, is the voice of Elena.
She is bringing the series to a new high with the audios, giving voice not just to Elena but also to all the other characters in the series. Her accents are to die for. She is really brilliant and will entertain you for hours. I’m very, very, proud of my audios. So if you don’t have time to read, be sure to listen instead.
Q. Do you have any other series planned that follows the characters of this world?
A. Yes, they are called the Beam Series. Moonbeam is actually taking place 10 years (more or less) after Starlight ended.
Darkbeam Part I-III is Blake Leaf’s story
Starbeam (Feature Release)
Firebeam (feature Release)

This book was amazing. I love magic, dragons and fantasy. Couldn’t put the book down and couldn’t wait to get to the next book. So much action and twists and turns.
This book had a wonderful story idea, but it needs some work. The pace is very uneven and it just seems like the author was not quite finished with revising. Again, the story was very interesting, but all the dots didn’t connect for me.
Ok, this book led to sleepless nights because I just had to finish the entire saga- I loved it so much! The world itself was magical and would love to live there 🙂 Characters were so well built I had a feeling they were real people. The whole experience reminded me of Harry Potter, but different enough so you could not predict the outcome. Totally recommend it! Now on to look for anything else this amazing author wrote 🙂
THIS WAS THE BEST BOOK EVA- RICK RIORDAN
Loved it. Got complete series.
It was good reading but got a little too much explanation in some parts mostly middle area, but then got more exciting through until the end.
Character definition was very good. Dragons and rider adventure is my most favorite. Lot of books out there on this but not many that grab your imagination and run with it. This one is a good starter in that area.
Having read the entire series in conjunction with the Darkbeam series I have a whole new appreciation for it. I love these characters and this world that Ms. Woods has created. I’m truly sad to see it end. I have to be honest that the editing leaves a lot to be desired, and normally that kills a book for me. That shows how much I enjoy this story that I have now read it twice. I recommend reading it while reading Darkbeam to get the best sense of events. Remember, though, that Darkbeam is not recommended for a YA audience due to violence, drug abuse, and sexual situations.
Holy buckets!! This book was so great, I went directly to Amazon and bought the rest of the series – it’s right up there with LOTR and Harry Potter. I barely slept until I got through all five. The character are realistic and believable, and they grow and change and learn. I wasn’t ready for the end, and when I got to the first pages of the extra book in the back, I think I cried for an hour because of where the author takes the story next. The story is so well-crafted, I’m missing my friends, and wishing I knew more about their lives, beyond the struggle, and into what should have been peace. Definitely worth it!!
Firebolt by Adrienne Woods is a wonderful story to read. This is book number one in this wonderful series that I am so hooked on and can not wait to read more. I highly recommend this story to everyone who loves reading about fantasy.

This is the 3rd book I’ve read written by Adrienne Woods; I can’t wait to read more of her books.
This is the first book in the Dragonian Series; this is a story about Elena; she doesn’t believe in fairy tales until the night a fairy tale killed her father.

Interesting story line full of dragons and a special academy but the execution was not quite there and the characters acted younger than 16 at times. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Firebolt is an excellent read. The characters are amazing and Paegeia is wonderful place. Elena and the other students have a lot of things to deal with. Elena has a lot to learn to be able to catch up with the others. This is definitely a page turner; I could not put it down until the end. I really enjoyed this book.

Allow a little more than ten hours of reading time for this family-friendly quest of sixteen-year-old orphan Elena Watkins at Draconia.

Another book I do not want to put down by this author. This series is, so far, more pg than Darkbeam, more actual high school as opposed to students treating it like college. I love following the same story from different points of view in such well thought out worlds such as Paegeia. Magic, dragons, high school drama, fighting, life drama, and friends make this a fun and freaky fantasy. Cannot wait to read what happens next!

Elena is a year old who has been moving every 3 months for as long as she can remember and she just thought her father was paranoid but things are certainly not what it seems. But on this night when her father tells her it is time to go again and they are in their truck when things happen so fast Elena is not sure whether what she is seeing is real are not. Now she finds herself in another world from what she is used to and she meets and falls for Prince Lucien. A paranormal fantasy series. Book 1. A great adventurous storyline and the characters are very intriguing. Drama, suspense, action, adventure, and love. It’s absolutely captivating! Some publishing typos keep it from being a 5, but the content is compelling, interesting, and has a teen romantic flavor I love! It has elements of Harry Potter-esque plotting but is not a knock off. The quests, friendships and adventure are completely its own. I hope you read it, too.
This book was so intense and filled with so much action. Elena grew up on the run with her father. One terrible night she realizes that the stories her father used to tell her were real. She is taken to Dragonia to be kept safe. Now she is in a school where most students are dragons. She must prove herself worthy of being there and keep everything she has grown to love safe. This was a great first book and I can not wait to read the next one.

Firebolt is the 1st book in a dragon series. It’s got drama, lots of teen drama, some adventure, death, etc. Basically, a teen girl with her father, on the run, get attacked by dragons in the beginning. The girl is clueless, her father turns into a dragon as well, but never gets to tell her anything about it. She’s thrust into another “world”, inside the Bermuda Triangle, & told she can never go back to the human realm.
She has to cope with all kinds of drama & had no idea what she’s doing. It kept my interest but there’s errors & a few issues but the storyline has great potential. I wasn’t moved by anything & wonder if this will turn into a “Harry Potter” ish series or stay true to it’s own story?!? I’m going to read the 2nd book to see how it goes……
Update: I loved the 2nd book! Still has some errors, but it’s a much better book. Made me get a bit emotional even, & will be reading the 3rd book.
