The one woman this lone wolf can’t resist…New Yorker Lena Castamolino has trouble. Big trouble. Every time the full moon shines, her body tries to turn into a wild beast, and she has no idea why. Her skin goes all leathery, and her shoulders begin the agonizing transformation into wings. Wings! Could it have to do with her recent move to Rome — a magical city that called to her for years? Or … to her for years? Or does the answer lie in the father who abandoned her at birth? Either way, she needs help, because all the grit and determination in the world can’t stop the moon — or the evil forces hot on her trail.
Rome may be known as the Eternal City, but eternal banishment is more like it for members of the despised Monseratti clan. But wolf shifter Sergio Monseratti has been granted one last chance to return to the city he loves, and he’s not about to blow it. “All” he has to do is bring down a ruthless mafia boss, and he can’t afford any distractions now. And he absolutely, positively cannot fall in love with the mysterious woman who could be the key to saving the city, no matter how high the passion between them builds.
Dazzling starlets, billionaire playboys, vengeful enemies, power-hungry dragons, secret heirs… It’s impossible to know who to trust, but one thing is for sure — destiny is on the move, and Rome is its stage.

When I am having trouble to decide on a genre or book to read – to get me back in the swing of it, I turn to a group of authors that I can always trust to bring me out of a rut, and Anna Lowe is on that list. This is the third book in this series, and it’s just as good, or even better than the first two. I read this book in a day, that’s how hard it was to put down. Our Fire Maiden in this is Lena, who has no idea of the shifter world or supernaturals, but you can see some of her abilities from the beginning, even if she can’t by being able to see the true souls of people.
This a great romance, with Sergio and Lena, and seeing the major action scene is a nail biter, and when Lena shifts for the first time, I felt like I was there watching it all unfold in person. Action, discovery, love and loyalty. It’s all in these books, and I just “know’ the next book has to be about one of my favorite supporting characters from this book, Marco, and I can’t wait to read it.
I am really enjoying this series, and this story does not disappoint. There is great action and very intense at several points in the story. The characters are wonderful. I wasn’t sure from the previous books whether or not I was going to like Sergio, but I ended up loving him. His acceptance of his fate was immediate and I believe that is because he is a wolf shifter. It follows with what we have learned about the different shifters in this world. The only point I didn’t like was her changing into a wolf shifter too, considering she is a dragon shifter. This point is quite confusing and there is no real explanation for it. It doesn’t take away from the story, but leaves my mind wandering. The narrator is the same as the first two and she gives the same powerful performance as the last two.
Fire Maidens:Rome was dramatic and old world mystery wrapped into one. This is the story that makes you want to keep reading and urging Sergio and Lena on towards a happy ever after. Immediately you have Lena who is compelled to be pleasant to the clients when all she really wants is to be free to express her talent. Sergio is the mystery to her, is he good or bad? He’s helping her with all of her new experiences. As Sergio and Lena traversed Rome and faced challenges and passions, you are along for the ride. It is a fun read that takes you through Europe as part of the Fire Maidens.

Another thoroughly enjoy listen! I loved that the action started right away with Lena dealing with her inner beast that definitely wanted out. Of course, our hero, Sergio, is there to lend a hand. I liked their interactions throughout the story as well. As usual, I enjoyed the side characters, especially Ariana and Dante.
Disclosure: I received a free copy of the audiobook. I also purchased the Kindle version.

Sergio is a wolf shifter trying to correct problems from his past. He wants to prove to the Guardians of Rome that he is responsible and can be counted on the protect Rome. When Lena arrives in Rome her body starts changing into something she does not recognize and she does not know why. Sergio decides to help her when he sees her changing. Right after their first meeting things start to get complicated and they have to work together to stay safe.
The characters are interesting and well developed. This is another great addition to the series. They all have been filled with suspense, excitement, and romance. I have become a big fan of Anna’s books and really enjoy reading them. I look forward to the next story.
Lena Castamolino has recently moved to Rome but every full moon her body tries to turn into a wild animal. She knows she needs help but doesn’t know who to turn to. Sergio Monserratti was banished from Rome because of his crime family. The Guardians only allow him to return to go undercover as a bodyguard to a criminal wolf shifter. After he meets Lena though he can’t stop thinking about her and will do anything to protect her.
I enjoyed this adventure through Rome. Lena and Sergio were a great couple and had great chemistry. Lena was a strong, caring, and determined woman. I wish I had the strength to move across the world and start over. Sergio is a well dressed wolf, who is very protective. Together these two fight to bring down a criminal wolf and stop the enemy dragons from invading Rome.
I really can’t wait to read the next book. I want to know more about Marco and see him find some love.

This is book three in the series.
Each book can be read as standalone but
you do run into some of the characters from the other books.
This is a bit of a modern Twist on Romeo and Juliette with shifters .
Plenty of action and drama suspense and romance.
I voluntarily reviewed a copy of this book.
Fire Maidens:Rome is book three in the Billionaires & Bodyguards series. This is about Lena and Sergio. We’ve met Sergio before and knew that he wasn’t in good graces with the council. However, they’ve given him another chance to prove himself. Luckily or unluckily he’s already fallen for the one person who could help him with the council but will she believe him when he tells her that he loved her before he needed her help or not.
Lena’s body was changing and she didn’t understand what was going on and Sergio was there to help her.
Another great book in this series!
Really good third instalment.
Likeable heroine in Lena but sad about her father’s sacrifice and how her mother believed she had been abandoned. Lena is very laid back in that she takes everything that is happening in stride, with little panic or questioning.
The instant connection between these two is sweet but I do put some of it down to their animals knowing they are mates.
Great that Sergio gets such an interesting and diverse mate.
Jacqueline makes an appearance like the bad penny she is.
What a character Amber was, reality tv nobody with delusions.
Now for Marco to tell his story in Portugal.
This is my honest review of this book which I have also read through Kindle Unlimited.
In this installment of the fire maidens you get another couple that is fierce when their other half is in danger. These two are the perfect pair for each other and neither fights the pull so you get so much more of their love for each other than in the previous books. Love, love, love this couple!
“Fire Maiden Rome” bursts with action, fiery, passionate romance, breathtaking scene descriptions that wow you, humor, horrific villains, family drama, fierce shifters that struggle to protect Rome, surprises you don’t expect, and an awesome happy forever. A pager-turner story I craved to be inside and when I finished reading, I wanted more. “Rome is the city of echoes, the city of illusions, and the city of yearning.” -Giotto di Bondone, Renaissance painter.
For years, the enchanting city of Rome has been summoning Lena Castamolino to leave New York. She yearns to understand why a beast with wings is inside her and echoes a voice in her head to be set free. These haunting feelings scare her. The illusion that shifters exist has become her nightmare. Sergio Monseratti an intelligent powerful wolf shifter, yearns to prove himself worthy to the Guardian Shifters trying to protect Rome. On his job journey, he meets Lena. His wolf’s side beams and rises to attention. Together they face many challenges before reaching their heavenly happy forever.
Outstanding memorable read with engaging praise-worthy characters. Lena is a powerful force and Sergio is protective and devoted to her; they’re perfect together. The author does a fantastic job showing that when family members are evil, that does not define who you are. The Guardians of Rome have intriguing personalities. {Relishing this entertaining read, on a volunteer basis, I chose to review an e-copy via the author.}
Loving this series so far! This one I believe is my favorite too! Cool beginning with Lena not knowing that she’s a dragon shifter, so she has no idea why her body is trying to shift. Sergio, a wolf shifter, comes across her and offers support. That’s just the beginning of Lena and Sergio’s problems; they have a couple groups of bad guys after them, makes for some great suspense. Love how honest Sergio and Lena are right away; no games is always refreshing, and I love how accepting she is of the whole shifters thing. Lena is a tough cookie that uses her common sense. Sergio is adorable. These two have some majorly hot chemistry! Sweet and sexy connection! Plus, a shifter council that doesn’t completely suck! The story was engaging right from the beginning. Loved the Rome setting, the action, and the magical elements. Excited for the next book in Portugal with Marco!
Book 3 in Fire Maiden Rome by Anna Lowe
Lena is a photograph and had been hire by a bibo celebrity to take shot of her with her new Italian hot guy but when she meets him Lena instantly doesn’t like him and get massive creepy vibes from him. While taking different photo in different locations in Rome Lena notices a very hot sexy bodyguard that knows what he’s doing and eventually catches his eye.
Sergio is a wolf shifter with a very dodgy background and it is that gets himself hired by creepy guy to investigate him but while at the photo shoot Lena pulls out jewellery that she’d bought from antique shops or car boot to spice the pictures but when she touches one it flashes and warms to her touch.
I loved that in this book Lena has already started having shifter problems and even though she doesn’t really know what’s going on she at least suspects there’s more to her then human.
This book flowed so much nicer then others because Sergio didn’t have to convince her of being a shifter and Lena took everything in her stride.
Absolutely love the narration by Kelsey Osborne. In this book she kept a mostly her American accent but just teased us with the fantastic Italian pronunciation every now and then which I loved. Can not wait for more in this series. Anna Lowe is always a winner for me.
All Is Not What It Seems
When you life changes after you move to Rome what is a girls suppose to do? Changes is good right? Not if you don’t know what you are facing.
Lena’s character is independent but to forgiving on a occasion. Going to Rome is one of her most daring chances after losing her job but strange things start to happen to her.
Being banished from the city of your birth has been hard but you are given one more chance to make amends for your family’s misdeeds. Little did you know that destiny is chancing your fate. Sergio has had to live with the choices he made in the past to protect his mother but no one said it would every be easy.
If you have been reading this series of books this one is a nice touch to the collection.
Hopefully, my review will entice others to read this series and other books by this author.
Fabulous Story of Discovery and Romance!!
Just when I wonder how this could get better – it does! Love this entire series, and this one still exceeds expectations!!
Lena is feeling strangely since moving to Rome. When she has an episode while out, she hides in a dark area where she runs into a wolf – who turns into a man. Sergio is being painted with his family’s crimes and trying to prove himself in the Guardians. When he sees Lena struggling with her inner animal, he knows he needs to help, and quickly learn what she means to him and the entire city.
A fabulous journey of discovery; family background, the shifter world, and sizzling romance!!

OMG what a PHENOMENAL Book this was. Definitely a Must Read.
Need to Know
Every European city is protected by a group of elite shifters known as the Guardians.
The Monseratti Clan are criminals like the mafi.
Lena Castamolino is a darn good photographer, she decided to take a chance by going to Rome. Once there her body went crazy, cracking of bones and the pain. What kind of monster is she?
Sergio Monseratti a WolfShifter who finically came back to his city Rome. Even though no one trusted Sergio because of his name finally he got his break working for the guardians. On his mission he see’s that his life will be changing again.
This review is my own opinion, this author is one that I love to read her books. Personally I can never put her books down, no matter what time it is. In this book there is just the right amount of adventure, action, love, and a little bit of intimacy.
This story is full circle. It’s packed with action, love, fireworks, and explosive action packed. You have feuding families, mafia dealings and killings. And where’s their trouble the Lombardi ‘a are due to be there. We see a evil greedy she dragon with the Lombardi head of the clan. We have pride and prejudice amongst your pack. Oh! Let’s not forget , the great escape off a yacht on a jet ski then the great motorcycle heist .Now in the midst of all this Sergio and Lens found a way to be together. They realized Lena was Fire Maiden and Guardians wanted her to marry a noble Dragon but she put foot down and chose her mate Sergio. Their story in herself is a modern day Romeo and Juliet or the Hatfield and McCoys. Or maybe I got that wrong and it’s West side story whatever it is it’s beautiful and was at the same time but it’s a HEA.
These series get more interesting each book.
Just when you think the fire maiden’s ability and rediscovery can’t be explored any further Anna shocked us with Lena and how she discovers her ability at a time when all the chips are down and its survival for the fittest. Boy does she come into her element and shows the villains that have been pledging the guardians the “heat”.
It was nice knowing all about what Sergio as he had appeared shallow in the Maidens of London, but it all makes sense now.
Looking forward to reading the anti-love Marco in the next book.
I am absolutely loving this series. Taking place in Rome was very interesting and enjoyable. Sergio had a lot to prove since he came from a line of criminals and Lena could not understand her pull to Rome and her body trying to change into some winged animal. When she meets Sergio everything comes together. But evil forces want Lena but Sergio is up to the challenge. Their destinty is at stake and Sergio will fight his enemy to the death. I received a complimentary copy and I am voluntarily reviewing.
We are in Rome and we have a new fire maiden Lena from New York only she doesn’t know yet . A power inside her has awaken only she thinks it’s bad, a winged monster that comes out with the full moon or maybe it has something to do with the dad that abandoned her at birth? Or the city? Who knows Oh yes and there is evil on her trail to . Another thing she does not know about.
Sergio we meet him in the last book. His family ” Monseratti” has Committed crimes and had been banished from the city. Sergio was granted one last chance to return and absolved his family’s name by bring down a mafia boss. Problem is Lena . He is falling for her.
Plus he has to find the fire maiden, the mysterious woman who could save the city. He just did know who it was. Lol fate playing games again.
Love the action, drama, mystery ,spice, and so much more this story has going on. Its amazing so don’t miss it. The characters are great storyline fun, I couldn’t put it down. Cant wait for the next book . I am so hooked on this series.
Voluntarily review a copy and I honestly loved it.
