For months, I’ve been chased by a red dragon. They’re the females of the dragon shifter invaders, fierce and vicious and as ruthless as they are wild. She hunts me wherever I go, and I’m not safe even behind the walls of a fort. There’s only one thing I can do to stop her… Not so easy for a human man…but Teva’s worth the challenge.

Finally, a look at what if the alien was a girl! I liked it initially because it was different, I loved it in the end because the story was just so easy to get lost in! Teva has been an interesting character from the first time she appeared in the series, and Gabe was the perfect pairing for her. I loved the build-up to them coming together, but I was especially drawn to her humanizing, and the fact that it didn’t diminish her draconi self. There weren’t really any outside antagonists in this story, it was more about inner battles and how relationships take compromise. I loved how the story just flowed so easily but didn’t take short cuts like insta-sex didn’t equate to the insta-perfect relationship. It was a work in progress, as they all should be. I love this series, I hope there will be more in the future. Like why can’t some of those single dragons in Dallas find their ways to the human settlements and find mates among all of those single females? Maybe I’m projecting, but Id read those stories too, lol
I love this series and I feel like I waited forever for a female dragon. It was well worth the wait though. I love Gabe and Teva. She is fierce and strong. He is sweet but dominant. Definitely made for interesting dynamics between them. I can’t wait for the next book in this series…as well as more from the IPB and Icehome. I’m so glad my sister introduced me to the worlds of Ruby Dixon.
I have been interested in the female dragons since the start of this series and I’m going to say that the author did not disappoint. Teva was everything that I was hoping for when it came to a red Dragon. Gabe was amazing in the last book and I am so glad that he got a HEA. They both found their way and purpose and it was just an amazing journey. If you have loved this series then get read because you are going to fall even deeper in love with these characters. Bring on more dragons because I don’t think I’ll ever get tired of them. 5 stars #2OCCJD
Book seven in the Fireblood Dragons a well written story about a red strong woman dragon Teva and the human man Gabe who can hear her thoughts after he got a transfusion of dragon blood. Gabe wants to save her from the madness she is suffering, he captures her but then forgets what she needs from him as he treats her like he would a human female. I enjoyed reading their story. I want to read the next book in this series when it comes out. I read a copy through KU.
The difference between love and obligation
Ruby Dixon continues her wonderful Fireblood Dragons series with the story of the crazed red female dragon who stalks Gabe and terrorizes Fort Shreveport in the process. Gabe was a good guy before the Rift opened and let in the mad dragons who nearly wiped out humanity. Post-apocalypse, he’s still a good guy, helping out with the plague outbreak (and getting dragon-blood transfused to save his life), caring for the elders left behind and even providing for their cats, and loving his brain-damaged German Shepherd, Scooter. He’s got mass skills, a good head on his broad shoulders, and a big heart. So, knowing that mating human females has calmed crazed male dragons, and realizing that he probably carries dragon-scent from the transfusion, he decides to lure the female to him and mate with her if possible, so that she can become sane and stop attacking his people. But he doesn’t look ahead to the repercussions, and when his plan succeeds, he’s got a forever mate who is frequently jealous, territorial, and still subject to fits of insane violence – not compatible with kids, dogs, cats, elders, or life in his home fort. Teva, his dragon mate, is conflicted about their mating as well. Their disconnect ruins even sex, and Gabe’s life is FUBAR. I loved Gabe and Teva both, and reading along as Gabe discovers he loves his mate, and learns what he must do to be a good husband as well as an all-around good man makes for some funny, and frustrating moments. The series plot continues to advance slowly, old friends (dragon and human) keep the past and present stories connected and moving forward, and the love scenes are scorching. Best of all, we have another Ruby Dixon character-driven romance to enjoy.
Filled with heat! Not only because it is filled with dragons but because of the heat passing between the hero and heroine. I unreservedly love this series! I love that we could possibly have stories in this world for years to come. There are lots of drakoni on earth as well as the hybrids that are being born. I unashamedly ask this author to write more, more, more of this series!
Gabe is one of my favorite human characters in this series. I am glad that he got a story of his own. And the fact that he is strong enough to get a drakoni mate and keep her sane is awesome. The way that he dominated her took ingenuity.
Teva is different from the male drakoni in many ways. The Salorian takes advantage of the female in ways that no one suspected. I love the twist of her finding someone she knows once she starts remembering. But I won’t spoil it by telling you who it is. I guess you will just have to read it to find out. And believe me you won’t be disappointed.
I really liked this one! It was different because Teva is a female dragon and we haven’t had a story about one yet. Plus, they seem to be a bit crazier than the males when they’re lost to their fires. Teva was quite feisty! Gabe called her “baby,” but she wanted to be called “Destroyer!” Gabe and Teva are a hot match! I got a little frustrated when they were having some relationship problems, but the story picked up once our rugged hero figured out the problem. And it was great to visit and catch up with some other dragons. I always look forward to Ruby’s stories! Gabe and feisty Teva burn up the pages! 4 stars
This was such a different and interesting book in that the hero (Gabe) was a human while the heroine (Teva) was a dragon. I absolutely loved it! How do you keep the human hero from coming across as weak when the heroine dragon is by nature strong and powerful? It was easy…at least that’s what it seemed to me as a reader. Ruby once again shows what a great writer she is by crafting a story that seems to flow like the notes of a beautiful song.
