Pepper O’Malley isn’t one to be toyed with. Fool her once, shame on you. Fool her twice, and they’ll have trouble finding your body. She used to dream of white picket fences and happily-ever-afters, but now she lives in the real world. As the saying goes, “Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,” especially when that woman is a redheaded spitfire.
Griffin Locklaine always viewed commitment as a … commitment as a four letter word. He was clear about what he wanted from the start and made no apologies for it. He didn’t care if he came off cold as ice. He lived for his job, his family, and his friends. He had no desire for a relationship. That was, until he saw the once-young-and-scrawny Pepper all grown up.
They’re like oil and water, fire and ice. A volatile combination that should never work together. Unfortunately, fate has other ideas. A spark like theirs left ignored has a tendency to burn out of control, leaving everyone to wonder who will be left standing when it finally explodes. Only one thing is certain. When they finally come together, it’s going to be epic.
Fire & Ice is Griffin and Pepper’s story. It is book 1 in a spin off series for characters introduced in Love Hate Relationship. It is recommended you read Love Hate Relationship first

Pepper O’Malley believed that the love of her life would be Griffin Macklaine, she knew it when she was a young girl and then she thought she finally had her chance when they ended up together one night, but when she woke up he was gone and avoided her like the plague. The only problem is he is the best friend and partner to her brother.
Griffin knows he made a huge mistake with Pepper years ago, and after continuing to play the field he realizes there is no other woman who even comes close to how he feels about Pepper. Pepper though has made it extremely clear she hates him, but when one thing leads to another Griffin gets his second chance but for the time being they are keeping their relationship quiet but can it stand the test that is coming their way?
This was a lot of fun, the sass and chemistry is off the charts. Pepper is a firecracker and Griffin is pure alpha male which makes a terrific combination for this story. I can’t wait to read the others in the series.
Fire & Ice is the first book in Jessica Prince’s The Locklaine Boys series. And I very much enjoyed it. I really loved Pepper- and sympathized with her unrequited love with her brother’s best friend, Griffin. But I loved how they connected when they got older! I loved that Griffin was more than willing to take the fall with his friend if it meant he got the girl. I think what I loved the most, though, was all the trouble these girls get themselves into!
I will say that, while this book is a complete standalone and the first book in this series, some of the friends were actually featured in another series (that I haven’t read yet), so there were some things that I didn’t pick up on right away. That being said, I was more than able to read and understand the book, and it didn’t interfere with my enjoyment.
I’m looking forward to more!
Ok…Yes, he’s a man-whore. Yes, he took the easy way out and chose his friendship with his best friend over the best friend’s sister. But! But! Jessica Prince writes it in the best way possible.
Griffin’s growth through the story is believable. Come on, how many young men are mature enough to realize what they have before they throw it away? Not many! We see how Griffin’s realizes his love for Pepper, as the story grows. We also see that Pepper moved on from heartbreak and became an ass-kicking strong woman!
I really enjoyed this book. I loved how Pepper grew as a woman and I loved the friendship she had with Tomas and Navie. I look forward to the rest of the books from Jessica!
Loved the characters and the writing! I love this series. It makes me laugh, cry, and swoon!
Hot, funny, my favorite in the series.
Loved these two characters and giggled the whole way through with a hardy laugh here and there. Liked it so much I laughed my way through the whole series in two weeks.
