I had an ARC copy of this book, but this is my honest opinion. I really enjoyed this book. The characters were great and the story line keep you turning the next page. I enjoyed both the romance and the suspense of this book. I also liked the faith aspect of it. Cassidy’s personality and her abduction were believable and added to the story line.
I love mysteries & this is a good one. I like that it’s the story of Cassidy after she was on reality tv show. It has suspense, twists & turns. Look forward to the next one in this new series. I received an arc. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Cassidy, a firefighter has a stalker and Jordan is assigned to the case. He’s in the middle of a child abduction case for the police department and thinks Cassidy is a diva looking for attention after appearing on a dating tv show. Amid some twists and turns they find their HEA.
An exciting start to a new series. I really enjoyed the combination of firefighters and the police. And the firefighter is a female in this story. I couldn’t put the book down because the story was written with intrigue and a mystery to solve. Of course, the best part is the romance that develops throughout the book!
A little mystery, a little romance, fast-paced, and easy to read. Cassidy and Jordan’s story is a good book to take along to the beach or for an afternoon of leisurely reading. I was provided a copy of this book from the author. This review is of my own choosing. All thoughts and opinions are mine alone.
What a great story. Games? not really! But fire – yes. And love? yes. Read it – you will love it.
This is such a good book!
I truly enjoyed reading it from the very first pages to the last.
It’s an engaging & suspenseful romance.
Cassidy & Jordan, are taking a break
from relationships. That is, till a police case,
a stalking & a suspicious fire brings
them together.
I loved everything about this Must Read Story!!
I adore stories about firefighters but add a law enforcement officer and I’m in heaven! These two characters are so fun to read about! One of the best parts of the story is that Cassidy is a woman firefighter. I’m all for women doing a traditional “man’s job”! I enjoyed watching her take all the razzing that her male co-workers gave her for going on a dating reality show and then not being picked, so when she came home and came back to work, the men had to have their fun with her! Cassidy took it all in stride! She proved she was still a capable firefighter! She then picks up a stalker because of the reality show and has to deal with Detective Jordan Graves being assigned to her case and he doesn’t really think much of Cassidy. However, when something doesn’t feel right at a fire, she consults with Jordan and although they don’t start out exactly working together well, I liked their relationship!
I have previously read other books by this author and am a fan. I enjoyed this one as well but felt like Fire Games is a good book that could have been great. I loved the Fireman and Police Officer romance and the suspense concept was original and interesting.
The characters were great but somehow I missed the spark and felt like the antagonist was a little underdeveloped. He just didn’t seem believable to me. There were also questions that didn’t seem to get answered.
If you like clean romantic suspense and a story that moves quickly I think you’ll like this book.
I received an ARC of this book courtesy of the author and this is my honest review.
Suspense is not my go to for entertainment. This book, I read almost all in one sitting. Jordan a cop and Cassidy a firefighter, just bringing their worlds together would have been enough of a story line. Hoopes kicks it up a notch by adding the suspense. True to her writing, the characters are wonderfully written, and so realistic. I am already waiting for book 2 in this series.
