I really enjoyed this book.
I loved that this one had such a mystery about it and it caused Armand to question all that he has been told.
Angel is a woman with such a sad background. You wanted her to finally have it all and be happy. For most of the book she is just looking to be left alone but Armand can’t allow that, even though he doesn’t understand why not.
The beginning of this book broke my heart. Angel was so scared, confused, heartbroken and pregnant. Hormones are crazy when pregnant and she also is dealing with media claiming she’s an Angel of Death. Poor thing is being bullied. I love how Sky was the one to rescue her from the unfeeling creeps picking on her. And then Beast offering to burn them to a crisp. He has come a long way from book one. When Sky sends Beast to pick her up for dinner at their house she is a bit overwhelmed. Another hilarious part is when Armand breaks down their door and kills the rugs trying to save Angel. Armand is so sweet with her, but convinced she’s not his mate due to the baby. It was heartwarming that Ovide was the only one that talked to Angel about Armand and how he feels. He has never been one of the most outgoing of the dragons. Each of these books in the series has been so very good and captured the feelings I look for when I read. I can’t wait for Ovide’s book. I requested an advanced reader copy and am under no obligation to leave this review.
Accidental dragon rescue
Armand is an old dragon who has given up hope for a mate. With the coming eclipse, he’ll fall victim to mateless madness. Fellow dragons, now mated and happy, urge him to keep trying, but he’d rather spend time with the young unwed momma-to-be who visits her dragon-mated friends in the swamp. He honestly feels for her, but how can she be his fated if she’s pregnant with another man’s child? A better understanding of his Angel’s real story, the well-intended advice from fellow dragons and their mates, and a smidgeon of dragon moonshine have an old dragon learnin’ a new trick or two, and Fate delivers the longed-for HEA in the nick of time. Whooo-eee!
Destined to be mated!
This the fifth book in Candace’s series Dragons of the Bayou. Candace’s writing is so detailed but very easy to read. Her development of the world building and characters for this series makes the book attention grabbing. Armand is through with the bar scene to find a mate. He definitely doesn’t want to go crazy at the eclipse but he is resigned to it happening. Sky and Beast are hosting a party with the other dragons and their mates and a new friend, Angel. Angel is a friend of friend’s of Sky and she’s pregnant and alone. Angel, has had a lot of tragedy in her life. She has sworn off finding someone to love her because she thinks she’s been cursed. Armand flies into the party and hears the scream of a female in trouble. The sound triggers his dragon to search out his mate and the rest as they say is history. It not as simple and easy as that because there is much confusion since Angel is pregnant. The other Dragons and their mates get involved and muddy the waters. But Armand and Angel do get their HEA. Of course there are some sexy scenes between these two! Loved this book! Can’t wait for Ovide to get his mate! We got a little bit of his story in this book.
I fell totally in love with Armand and Angel’s romance. This is a shorter length read but it is jam packed with intense emotions. The story was interesting, quickly paced an very engaging. I was very quickly pulled into this book and I found myself anxiously rooting for this couple. Drama, angst and sweetness are paired with sizzling steam to create a completely delightful read.
