It started out as an angst book – so not my favorite – then it spent a great deal of time reminiscing about their perfect past. The book would be considerably smaller without the multiple trips down memory lane. Meh.
Good story..too much sex just thrown in when wasn’t necessary. Would give this 3 1/2 stars if there were 1/2s
A good read.
Love the whole Hope Falls Series!
Cute storyline..Sexy men in that town, I think I’d have to start going to the gym…

A fun to read. Great background info.on characters throughout the pages give a great cohesiveness to the plot. We’ll done.
Great story with a HEA. Loved the hero. The father was an SOB but then he loses, so it all works out.
Another great book by Melanie Shawn! MacKenzie and Eli were secret high school sweethearts, until he broke her heart and left her the day before they were to elope! Now years later they run into each other when she goes to Hope Falls, where he’s a firefighter, to film a documentary. When they run into each other, the sparks are still there, but can she forgive him for leaving her all those years ago or will the secret of why he left destroy them forever? Great read!
Fire and lots of loving in Hope Falls
This is the thirteenth book in the Hope Fall series written by Melanie Shawn, and the first book that I have read. Each is a stand-a-lone, and although earlier characters from the series feature, I did not feel that I wasn’t reading a well rounded and complete story. If you love sexy firefighters and second chance romances, with a touch of MMA, and the betrayal of young love, then this book is for you.
Eli and Mackenzie are strong characters who were secretly in love during their teen years, planning to get married, when inexplicably, Eli left town and joined the Marines. In her turn, the heartbroken Mackenzie moved on with goals at film school.
Ten years later, she’s back in town to film a documentary and Eli is thinking that perhaps this could be his chance to make things right. Only drawback is, she doesn’t know the complete truth, and he swears he’d never tell her.
I love small town romances. They make for an easy read that’s big on the feel-good factor, and I enjoyed this one.
4 Stars
OH MY!! Words escape me in trying to describe how much I loved reading Fire and Love by the amazing duo Melanie Shawn, the thirteenth book in their Hope Fall series. This is a second chance story for Eli Bishop and Mackenzie Sutton who were best friends and neighbors since the age of ten. The commitment and love they made to each other after high school graduation were sidelined by the small mindedness of one individual but now there’s nothing to stop these two from burning up the sheets twelve years later when they have a chance to reconnect. Hopefully when Kenzie learns the truth of why Eli was a no show, she can believe in his honesty.
Through their amazing and vivid writing Melanie Shawn did an outstanding job tackling this love at first sight story. I genuinely enjoyed reading Fire and Love and was pleased with the way Melanie Shawn found a way for Kenzie and Eli to find their way to a happy forever. Although this book is part of a series, it can also be read as a stand-alone. I highly recommend this book and am looking forward to reading the next story in the Hope Falls series.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
