The Casella Cousins Novella 3: FinnHe prefers older, sophisticated women who know what they want. Or at least he did, until he begins to see his assistant in a different light. But she’s done with her stupid crush on her boss. Done, done, done!Finn Casella was always the shy, reticent one in the midst of the lively, outgoing Casella cousins. Now a successful independent bookstore owner in the heart of New York City, he’s settling into his life and wants to get back to his unfinished novel.

Can these two people, with more in common than they realize, forge something new out of his emotional baggage and her starry-eyed optimism? Some interesting plot twists will keep you guessing and rooting for them to make it—together.
Look for cameo appearances by the O’Neils, who own Bailey’s Irish Pub on MacDougal Street.

I received a complimentary copy of this book and I am voluntarily reviewing it.
This was a great addition to the series of Casella cousins. While this is the third book of the series, it can be read as a stand-alone. Truly though I would start at the beginning as the cousins appear throughout. Plus they are wonderful stories.
Finn owns an independent bookstore in New York City. He has a thing for older women but lately he finds himself thinking of his younger store manager, Millie Morrison, a great deal. Millie has been in love with Finn since starting at the bookstore. Knowing that Finn would never give her a second thought, she seeks therapy to get over him. She is ready to move on and starts to see the manager of a local soup kitchen, Emerson that she volunteers at. As Seth sees the two together, he starts to really think about Millie and not liking the younger man. It really doesn’t help when Emerson calls Finn, Mr. Casella! (I LOVED that scene!)
Complications arise for Finn and some of the store’s neighbors adding undo stress to him. A situation arises for the new couple that also complicates the relationship. This book is one that really shows how things can get out of hand quickly and how to possibly overcome them.
This book is written in a dual POV format. That was really necessary for me to get that glimpse into Finn’s thoughts. Also at one point Millie threw me for a loop as well. Seeing her thoughts also helped me to relate to her in that given situation.
This is a light sexy read. There is one “bedroom” scene and really there was hardly any detail at all given. I would only recommend this to someone over the age of 18 as I would hate to offend any parent.
Another great addition to the Casella Cousins. This is Finn and Millie’s story. Finn is the owner of a bookstore where Millie works. The building where the bookstore is located is up for sale and Finn needs to figure out what he can do to save his beloved store. Millie has always had a crush on Finn, even though he is quite a bit older than her and frequently buts heads with him. They soon can not deny the chemistry that they share but will need to overcome certain obstacles in life to have their HEA.
A wonderful written story with very strong main characters. Plenty of family dynamics come into play, and of course family comes to the rescue. Looking forward to reading the next book in the series. These books can be read as a stand alone.
I just loved Finn and Millie and they dynamic between them and that it takes him almost losing his store for start really looking at life and Millie. There are some great laughs especially with Millie’s grandparents, as well as frustrations of Finn’s hung up on the age difference between him and Millie which to be fair I don’t think is that much and ugh his mother … I loved the scene where Finn, Millie, Hayley and Paul met with their mother and the surprise guest who turns up. We get to see where things are at with for Hayley and Paul which is exciting as well as learning even more about Ronan but he is still keeping secrets!
Finn has established his own bookstore & has made it his life. He’s created something special but feels the location is a big part of it. Now it’s under threat as someone wants to buy the buildings in the area & turn them into condos. As Finn is fighting, he finds his feelings for his assistant Millie growing. The age difference between them is significant but he doesn’t see it as a barrier anymore.
Finn has a lot to resolve before he can accept Millie’s feelings. His mother has been emotionally controlling his entire life. He has to realize that he can refuse to allow her to treat him the way she does & that he doesn’t have to take it. I enjoyed the way Finn comes aware of his feelings & the way Finn & Millie get closer as they fight.
Millie is done being overlooked by her boss Finn as anything more than a fabulous manager of his bookstore. She has had a crush on him for years – since he gave a young girl a chance at the bookstore – and worked hard to get her degrees and become his manager. She knows he wouldn’t be as successful without her. Finn has never allowed himself to see Millie in any other light than as his very competent right hand at the bookstore, but when he realizes he might lose her he realizes he must act before it is too late. Another great book in the Casella Cousins series.
I had the same problem with this book that I did with the others in this series. They get going fine, but then they just end. There isn’t enought development of character or plot. They need to be longer.
Millie Morrison has worked herself up the ranks with her job at the bookstore. She’s been in love with her boss, Finn Casella for years. The problem is he hasn’t seen her in the same way. There is also the factor of a little bit of an age difference.
When Finn discovers someone trying to buy the building his bookstore is in that will change the whole neighborhood both Millie and himself work tirelessly together to save the building from being sold and affecting all their neighbors.
Just when Millie has become determined into moving on Finn is finally realizing he wants a more than work relationship with her. Now can he convince her that he’s in this for the long haul.
“Finn “(The Casella Cousins Book 3) by Kathryn Shay is a great addition to the series. This is the story about
Finn Casella & Millie Morrison. Finn owns a bookstore called Fitzgeralds in NYC, and Millie is his very young store manager. Millie has had a crush on Finn for quite awhile now, but she knows its hopeless. Finn knows about it but feels the age difference is an issue. Meanwhile the owner of the building & property that the bookstore its located has decided to sell. Finn and the neighboring store join together to see if they can stop the sale from happening. Finn and Millie are attracted to one another but they haven’t really done anything about because of employer /employee relationship. Finally Finn makes his move! Is he took late? Is all hope lost? Will they get their happy ever after. Find out! I have received an ARC copy for my honest review. Can’t wait for the next one in the series.
“Finn was such an interesting story to read. This wasn’t my first book of Kathryn so I have an idea of her stories are developed and yet Finn was somehow different but still the same. Finn as a character was quite interesting in a complex way. He was mad and he tended to act based on that emotion and it was completely different from the man we met in previous books. He had his own story and it was refreshing seen him on a different spotlight plus he’s the owner of a bookstore which will always make him way too hot for my sanity. I don’t want to give details about the story but it was a story with ups and downs. One of the things I liked the most wast Millie’s character. She was a strong female that had to deal with Finn family’s problems, his guarded heart and her own feelings. I loved both of them and not only their chemistry but also their connection. It was a great read that I highly recommend you.”
4.5 Stars for Finn (The Casella Cousins Book 3 )
This series of novellas featuring the Casella cousins is really growing on me and this family are starting to feel like friends. The stories are well written and the characters are easy to relate to and every book so far has been picked up and not put down until the final word has been read.
We met Finn previously and truth be told he was the hardest one of this family to like, he came across as arrogant but in his own book he really comes into his own and maybe that’s because he has finally meet a woman who gives as good as she gets….
Millie is a woman we would all love by our side, she is sassy, strong and loving and that’s exactly what Finn needs to bring out the real man who hides behind his stuffy, arrogant ways…
A quick, entertaining read that’s a great addition to this series, it certainly ticked all my boxes and left me excited for what’s coming next with the Castella’s.
This third installment of the Casella cousins series is Finn’s story. We learn more about his relationship with his parents and his missing brother. This book has multiple story lines the keep the reader interested. Millie is the manager of the bookstore that Finn owns. Their relationship develops with a few bumps in the road. Will Millie get what she has always wanted? And can Finn overcome his business and personal challenges? Kathryn Shay definitely leaves you with the anticipation of the next Casella cousins book.
Another Hit! I’ve volunteered to review this book for United Indie Book Blog. Finn is the third book in the Casella Cousins series. This is Finn and Millie’s story. Finn owns Fitzgerald, is a well-respected bookstore in the Village. Millie is his store manager. This is a heartwarming and realistic story about love and family that evidences how the past can affect the present and the future. Will Finn and Millie get their happily ever after together or will outside forces push them apart? This is a quick and easy read. I highly recommend reading this series. It shows you how two people, who is opposite can come to love each other. Keep up the great job! Can’t wait to read next book in this series.
This was a quick and sweet read. Millie and Finn were a cute couple, especially when trying to figure out their relationship. With business and family issues surrounding them, they realized time was not to be wasted and fell further in love. I loved how they supported and were honest with each other, and I enjoyed the secondary characters popping in and out.
I received a copy of this story through Enticing Journey Book Promotions, and this is my unsolicited review.
Kathryn once again gives us a quick well written story about the cousins.
Finn, owns the bookstore, and while in numerous relationships , he doesn’t get emotionally attached.
Millie has been attracted to Finn since she started working for him. But he doesn’t seem to return her interest or feelings.
The story flows well. The characters are somewhat developed. We get background on Millie but we need more of Finn.
Ronan makes an appearance and alludes to having shattering information he is not yet ready to reveal. But at least he is connecting with his siblings again.
I always look forward to these books.
This is an honest voluntary review
I received this ARC in exchange for a fair review. This is the third in the Casella Cousins series and I’ve enjoying each more than the earlier books. Why? Because Kathryn has created such rich, diverse, real people to populate her books. With each new book, I feel as if I am rejoining old friends. In this book, Finn and Millie have both experienced parents who have led them to avoid serious relationships. There are a myriad of reasons why they want to ignore or avoid the chemistry they feel. She works for him, but want to open her own bookstore someday. He inherited his bookstore and has built it to be a recognized rare book source as well as a place for everyone who loves reading. Each respects the other but won’t do anything to further the connection. Until they acknowledge the role each plays in the other’s life. The characters, in this story, are wonderful and the details of life in this town feel as if you could just walk into a home and belong.
I would rate this book at 4.5. Can’t wait for the next one
A story of an slightly older man with emotional scars from his childhood finally seeing the younger woman who has loved him for years, all why fighting to keep the building that houses his bookstore. I thought it diminished Finn somewhat to keep running to his sister for advise. I also thought the ending came rather abruptly, and I was left hanging about whether Millie was purchasing a bookstore.
Millie has been in love with Finn for eight years. She is a strong and determined young lady who is the perfect friend, granddaughter and store manager. Yet Finn has refused to consider a relationship with Millie because there is an age difference and because she is his store manager. One day, suddenly Finn realizes that he needs to go after Millie and a relationship is born. Will stress and outside forces bring Finn and Millie together or push them apart? Will Finn and Millie get their happily ever after together or will outside forces push them apart?
Join the rest of the Cassella clan as you get to catch up with several of the Cassella’s and even a row of the O’Neil’s as well. A wonderful story of love, life and relationships.
I received a copy of this book for a fair and honest review.
Finn owns a very successful bookstore that is his whole life. He’s close with a couple siblings and some cousins but has a complicated relationship with his mother. He’s felt he doesn’t have time for a relationship because it takes away from the store. When his assistant starts to show interest in another man, he finally realizes he has feelings for her and doesn’t want to see her date another man, even when he feels the age difference is too much. Millie had a crush on Finn for years and gave up a few years earlier, working very hard to get over her feelings for him while still seeing him everyday. When there’s a crisis with the bookstore and some issues with his mother, they come together to work on saving the store. Well written store with strong characters and family ties. I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving my review.
Finn leases the space for a bookstore in Greenwich Village and the owner of the building has decided to sell. He is concerned about it, and joins with other neighbors to see if they can stop the sale. His bookstore is managed by Millie, who is 9 years younger than Finn. They are both attracted to each other, but have never done anything about it because of the boss/employee relationship and because of the age gap. When Millie starts to show interest in Emerson, Finn decides to make his move.
This is a novella, so the story moves along without getting hung up on too much detail. Finn has issues with his mother and with the memories he has of his deceased father. He has a sister and a brother, but something happened with his brother that made him leave years earlier, and both siblings have hardly seen him since. He does appear in this story, but not as a major character. Both Finn’s brother and sister have their own stories in this series, but each story stands alone, but will be enjoyed more if read in order.
This story keeps a decent pace, and the main protagonists are likeable. Finn seems to have plenty of money and lives in a beautiful apartment, while Millie lives in the upper level of her grandparent’s home, and is surrounded by love. Her dog adds some fun to the story, as does her banter with her grandparents. There are parts of this story that shine brightly, and one part that may make you cry. Both main characters have to grow and stretch a bit, and that makes this a special story.
ARC for honest review with no compensation 4.5 stars
Finn is book 3 in the Casella Cousins series by Kathryn Shay, great addition to this series.
Finn Casella, owner of Fitzgerald’s and Millie Morrison, longtime assistant but years younger than Finn has always been attracted to him but knows he doesn’t see her in the same light. That is until Fitzgerald’s and the other stores, restaurants and shops are in jeopardy of losing their leases and turning those places into condominiums. Working together to save the store and the buildings brings about changes in Finn…working through his childhood insecurities and his feelings for Millie…
Will these two save the store, restaurants and shops from closing and build a lasting relationship…with the help of family and friends…only time will tell.
