A secret message hidden inside of an antique wooden box, an unidentified dead body, and a mother determined to marry her off to the high school crush whom she hasn’t seen since…well…high school. There’s no doubt about it; Finn Bartusiak’s life in the seaside town of Port New is about to get interesting.Coming into possession of a 19th-century, bronze and mahogany writing box under somewhat … somewhat suspicious circumstances, Finn’s accidental discovery of a coded note leads her and Spencer Dane, bestselling novelist and love of her life (though he doesn’t know it yet), on a quest to unravel the mystery behind the jumble of letters. But they’re not the only ones interested in the cryptic message. There’s a con man on their trail, and he’ll stop at nothing, including murder, to claim the ‘treasure’ for himself.

I absolutely loved this cozy mystery by Kristine Raymond. The main character, Finn, was a hoot and I laughed out loud several times while reading. I loved how the author put the reader inside of Finn’s head so we could get to know her better. She’s witty, hard-working, sarcastic, funny, and endearing. And then there’s Spencer who is absolutely swoon-worthy. All of the characters were intriguing and lovable and I felt like I had a clear view of what life is like in the town of Port New. Did I mention how much I loved the cover too? It is beautiful and perfect for the story. I can’t wait to continue the adventures with Finn and see what’s in store for her next.
I love books with strong women and men who are able to let them shine. Finn does just that. Surrounded by a quirky family, staunch friends and the longest unrequited love I’ve read in a long time – it all fits seamlessly.
However Finn’s stubbornness does get her into a couple of tight spots but in the end, I was still on the edge of my seat. I won’t share any specifics but suggested – read this book. It was great fun.
Thoroughly Enchanted.
From the very first page, Finn and I were friends. This fresh and original cozy is perfect for curling up with. The character-chemistry is tangible and fun. Raymond touches her readers and takes them beyond the words. You are not just reading a story, you are a part of the town, and on the hunt. Every clue, every mishap, everything about this mystery is entertaining and charming. Now, I want a basset hound.
What a refreshingly fun cozy! Maude Finely Barowski, who was affectionately nickname Finely by her grandmother Lena, goes by the nickname of Finn. Finn, who is as quirky s her name, is the owner of Finn’s Finds, and antique and consignment shop. Told through the fist person, we are privy to Finn’s thoughts and her encounters. As soon as Finn opens for the day, she is presented with an antique writing box, forking over $1000 for it. Little did she know that was the beginning of her troubles. The next customer is her high-school crush that quickly becomes her love interest Spencer Dane, a now published author.
I love the author’s writing style, the story telling is an enjoyable part of the book. Intertwined with the mystery, secret codes, and humor, I quickly became engrossed in the pages and read the book with in one day. I felt affection for her basset hound Garfunkel, who has Color Dilution Alopecia, which leaves him bald in most places on his body. His most favorite activities being eating and sleeping. Her family is relatable, and the cast of characters entertaining. Quinn just finds her way into your heart with her quirkiness and humor. I cannot wait for additional stories. I love Finn, Garfunkel, and the entire cast, I especially enjoyed the writing style! I received this book from the author and I am voluntarily leaving my review.
Delightful and mirrored the intriguing title.

I thoroughly enjoyed Finn-agled by Kristine Raymond. The delightful Finn owns an antique shop. She comes into possession of an antique writing box that holds a secret. Add to the mix one handsome heartthrob, a savvy best friend detective, and a Bassett hound and you have a tale of mystery, secret codes, and intrigue that will hold your interest and leave you wanting more!
