In the aftermath of a deadly alien invasion, a band of survivors fights on…For Hawk pilot Finn Erickson, flying is in the blood. Since the aliens decimated the planet, he spends most of his time flying Hell Squad into combat. With communication to other survivor bases cut off, he has no idea if his family is still alive and feels their loss keenly. But helping to fight back sustains him, and … him, and his quadcopter is the only woman he needs. She doesn’t argue with him…unlike a certain redhead who is one hell of a kisser.
Lia Murphy lost her mother and sister in the invasion. She vows never to get emotionally involved with anyone again, and as head of the drone team, she’s always busy with work. But one cocky, arrogant pilot pushes all her buttons. When Finn issues a challenge–a fly-off in the flight simulator–she can’t resist. But she’s not sure if she can accept what he demands as his prize if he wins…her. In his bed for one night.
But as Finn and Lia’s fiery attraction heats up, so does the battle with the aliens. The pair must work together to reestablish communications with other humans and discover what the aliens are hiding in a mysterious area to the north. In the process, they will face the most dangerous alien creature yet, and be tested to their very limits…
Note to readers: This sci fi romance contains a lot of action (think wild alien creatures and daring flying), tough warriors (the battle-hardened soldiers of Hell Squad and Squad Nine) and a steamy romance (lots of sexy times between an arrogant combat pilot and the woman who challenges him). So if you like it fast, and gritty, and sexy, this is for you!
Includes a preview of Among Galactic Ruins, first book in the Phoenix Adventures.

Q & A with the Author
Q – How would you describe the Hell Squad series?
A – Tough, alpha soldiers battling invading aliens. Hell Squad is science fiction romance with a dose of post-apocalyptic grit and a serve of military romance. There is lots of action, adventure and romance. But even in the middle of a fight for survival, the series is focused on hope, friends, family and love. Hell Squad has been one of my bestselling series and I’m thrilled the Hell Squad gang have so many fans.
Q – Why did you want to write the series?
A – I love action, adventure and romance. And I love science fiction romance and all the endless possibilities. I also wanted to write something that was a little darker and grittier than my more adventure-filled series, the Phoenix Adventures. Then I had this image of a former society party girl wearing fatigues squaring off with a scarred, battle-hardened soldier and Hell Squad was born. I’d intended it to be a single story…but the Hell Squad soldiers had other ideas and literally came to life as I wrote the first book!
Q – What order should I read the books in?
A – All the Hell Squad books have stand-alone romances in them but the action arc of the invading aliens grows with each book. Many readers have entered the series with later books and they haven’t been lost, but, characters from the early stories do appear in later books and I really think it adds something to the reading experience to read them in order. Here’s the order I suggest:
– Cruz
– Gabe
– Reed
– Roth
– Noah
– Shaw
– Holmes
– Niko
– Finn
– Devlin
– Theron
– Hemi
About Anna: I’m passionate about all things action romance. I love stories that combine the thrill of falling in love with the excitement of action, danger and adventure. I write about people overcoming unbeatable odds and achieving seemingly impossible goals. I like to believe it’s possible for all of us to do the same.
The Hell Squad Science Fiction Romance Series:
– Science Fiction Romance
– Action Adventure Romance
– Post-apocalyptic Romance
– Alien Invasion Romance
– Futuristic Romance
– Fantasy Romance
– Military Romance
– Paranormal Romance

Finn Erickson spends his time flying Hell Squad into combat. His quadcopter is the only woman he needs, especially since she doesn’t argue with him like a certain drone pilot does. Lia Murphy lost everyone in the invasion and now refuses to get emotionally attached to anyone. Unfortunately, one cocky and arrogant pilot pushes all her buttons and makes her want more. When he issues a flight challenge with the prize being a night in his bed, she doesn’t know if she wants to win or lose.
The focus of this book is reestablishing communications with the other bases around the world. This brings Finn and Lia together as they search for a jet that will be able to drop an amplifier in the ocean. As with the rest of the series, this book was a nonstop action packed adventure filled with romance and, of course, lots of aliens.
Finn is a confident pilot who is used to being out on the front lines. His feelings for Lia have shifted and his idea of a one night stand doesn’t make them go away. Finn was a great hero and I really appreciated that he admitted his mistakes and tried to make things better. Lia is as confident as Finn in his piloting skills. I loved watching them butt heads and be snarky. It was so amusing.
Overall this was another action packed book for the series and I cannot wait to see what will happen next. Also I can’t wait to see what new kind of alien shows up.
One of my favourite authors whom I’m lucky enough to do ARC reading and some proofing for. This is about the best pilot in the whole of the Hell Squat series. I can whole-heartedly recommend the whole series.
Fun and interesting series about aliens invading Earth, and the soldiers trying to fight against them. This is book 10, which features Hawk pilot Finn and drone commander Lia. They’re tasked with dropping an amplifier in the ocean to boost signals to find other hidden human encampments. Will they be successful?
Love Lia and Finn. They are so good together. There lots of heat and heart and smexy-times. Also danger and fighting large dinosaur-type aliens. Highly recommend.
Read in KU.
I loved the adventure in this book! It was awesome reading about all of their determination and the action packed ass kicking they are giving the raptors.
Lia & Finn were perfect together. They’re both competitive and have a love for flying. So when they got together it was just hot and pure perfection.
Our favourite HAWK pilot gets his turn in the spotlight!
Finn loves to fly, the faster and harder the better. He lost contact with his family after the invasion and believes they are lost. He pours his heart into living for the present, no attachments and no broken hearts. But he may rethink this stance ‘cos Lia, the drones lead pilot, gets under his skin like no one else.
Lia also knows lost. She lost her mother and sister in the invasion. Now alone in the world, she retreats from relationships. Finn is the biggest annoyance she has, he doesn’t rate her drone flyers and takes every opportunity to wave his combat pilot past in her face. She flew supersonic aircraft before the invasion – she is not just a pretty face!
When intel surfaces of a factory run by the Gizzida, she and Finn are selected to head into hostile territory. What follows is a heart pumping, adrenaline filled ride through the skies! With a fantastically sexy and live for the moment scene in a former 5* hotel and some hotter than hot role play, these two put the fun back into their lives (and their beds).
I love this series so much and each new book becomes my favourite. Lia is strong, dependable and loyal to the core. Finn hides a sentimental soul and heart of gold (he’s been adopted by an alien hatchling for cripes sake!) No spoilers for Scavamping is totally the next hottest thing!!! I do hope Devlin’s story is next cos Ms Hackett has left him and Taylor in a REALLY sticky situation!
