It’s time to come home, FinnIt’s been seven years since Daniel Finley left his hometown in Florida for the hustle and bustle of Chicago’s city life.Since then, he’s worked hard for his position at the prestigious law firm Leighton & Associates, even when it’s caused distance and isolation from his family and friends. But that’s all about to change. On his thirtieth birthday, he receives the … his thirtieth birthday, he receives the one thing he never dared hope for. Something that was promised to him years earlier—a note. One simple sentence from the man he’s never been able to forget.
Six words will forever change the course of their lives.
Brantley Hayes has it all. Or so he thinks. When he first made the decision to take a job down in Florida, his family thought he was crazy. But, after years of living in the quiet beach town, he finally feels a sense of community. He’s surrounded himself with friends who are like family, has a job he loves, and owns a spectacular beachfront property that is his sanctuary.
Yet he still feels unfulfilled, as if a piece of the puzzle is missing, and he knows exactly which piece it is. On an impulse, he follows through with a promise he made years earlier. A promise to call home the one he sent away.
Nothing is as simple as it seems.
After years of separation, the former lovers are reunited, but Brantley wasn’t expecting to encounter the high walls now guarding Daniel’s heart.
Daniel may not be the same person he was when he left, but he knows that the first step to healing is the note in his hand.

Ella captivated my heart with this book. I read it and instantly fell in love with it. However, I listened to it recently on Audio and Charlie David was fantastic. This book is about 2 souls that drifted apart, but in the end, they knew only they could make each other whole. This book is awesomely written and the narration by Charlie David just brought it to life. Absolutely love it and recommend it to all.Finley (Sunset Cove Series, #1)
For my first M/M novel, this blew any other out of the park for me. I loved everything about this novel. If you think the missing scenes are hot wait until you get the sex scenes, wow.
Flashback scenes don’t always work but not in this book. Even with a fair amount of sex scenes the book had plot and it didn’t get boring at all… sometimes there are too many sex scenes.
Great characters with explosive chemistry that you could just feel…which I love. Five stars and one of the best books I’ve read this year
I’ve been devouring everything that Ella Frank has written over the last year and this duo kind of slipped under my radar a bit. The story sounded enticing enough but I wasn’t expecting to get so caught up in Brantley and Finn’s story as much as I did. There were tears involved and everything.
For me Brantley was the heart of this story. He totally f***ed by pushing Finn away but while reading this story I felt so bad for him because even though he knew making Finn leave would break not only Finn’s heart but his own he did it for Finn. With Finn being so young Brantley didn’t ever want Finn to regret his decision to stay with him in Florida when he had so much potential.
Even though Brantley stole my heart in this story Finn was just so heartbroken through the entirety of the story that his emotions while he tried to keep hidden were sitting right there almost on his sleeve. Not once did ever doubt the love Finn and for Brantley and for me that is tough sell. Sometimes you can sense hesitation which is perfectly OK but through this whole book I felt the love pouring out of each one of them.
Only complaint I had was I felt like their epilogue was wrapped up a bit too quickly. I know we got the answers on where they ended up and what happened with Finn’s job, but I still wanted more. That could be entirely my own issue, but I still wanted more. Finn and Brantley deserved more. On to book two Devil’s Kiss not sure how I feel about that one but because it is Ella Frank, I am diving in heart first.
When your professor is that hot, who can blame you for pursuing him?
A sexy story of forbidden love and the angst of letting it go – when you think that’s what’s best for the one you love.
I promise there’s a HEA and these two are just beautiful when they get their HEA. They just need to go through some turbulent times first. But isn’t make up sex the best??
The Audio is well done also and worth listening to.
Finley is a spin-off novel from the Temptation Series. There was only a brief moment between him, Tate and Logan but it was a memorable one. He was cocky then and cocky still…
Daniel Finley, AKA Finn, moved to Chicago seven years ago. He was now a well-known lawyer that was so close to becoming partner in his firm. It was his thirtieth birthday and it was also the day he received a letter to come home. By him. The only man he loved that sent him to Chicago in the first place. He had a plan in place. To f- him out of his system in one weekend then walk away. And say his last goodbye to him.
Brantley finally did it. He sent that one sentence to Daniel. He wasn’t even sure he would listen but he hoped like hell that he would. He wasn’t ready to move on yet. And then he got his own one sentence on a piece of paper that would change everything. He was home. And when he saw his Finn, he was in trouble. His was sexier than ever and when he spoke, he was done for. This version of the Finn was in control. And he was so willing to let him be…
One weekend turned into a two week proposition. They had two weeks together and then Finn would go back to Chicago. Then they would say a goodbye to what they had in the past, and the new memories they would make. This plan was solid in their minds but their hearts is what could get in the way. Relaxing days, hot nights, and memories would fill their time. Finn wasn’t the same man that left seven years ago. Sure, he was still arrogant, and funny but unreadable. He builds his walls. Can Brantley tear them down? Will Finn be able to say goodbye forever this time? Will Brantley left him go?
I love Finn and Brantley! The are opposites in many ways but their passion is on point with each other. They are so damn sexy, funny, and lovable! I also very much enjoyed Darek and Jordan (Finn’s BF and Brantley’s BF).
Now, for the writing! Ella hooks me in every time from start to finish. Throughout the book, you will see their relationship go from past to present. I thought that was a great way for us, the readers to connect to the character’s relationship. To understand it. I know that’s what it did for me. I love a good second chance romance and this was an epic one.
Overall…it gave me all the feels. I cried, I laughed, I wanted my husband to be home so I can attack him.
I loved this Crazy! Elizabeth @ Carolina Chic’s Read
I had this on my wish list for a while and let me tell you! This was just as hot and sexy as any other story from Ella Frank. This second chance M/M romance was just what I needed and what we all love from Ella Frank! Enjoy!
Ella Frank
I love this series
3.5 Stars!
Oh my freaking GOD!!!! I don’t think I can express in words how much I loved this book!!!
It was HOT, SEXY, HEARTBREAKING and just so TOUCHING. I fell in love with Finn and Brantley immediately. Their story, their past and everything about their relationship and the things they go through was just so heartbreaking. I couldn’t not fall in love with them.
I loved the deep connection Finley and Brantley had. They knew each other inside and outside, just everything. It made this story so much more poetic and heartfelt.
The book isn’t just a student/teacher romance, or a second chance romance but it’s also about a once in a lifetime love that only happens to a few of us. The connection, and the love between Finley and Brantley is just special. In one minute they have the pages going up in flames and then in the next they make you smile and cry and feel all the feels. It’s an extraordinary love story and one I won’t forget anytime soon.
I’ve already read Finley a few times and it’s not often that I read a book that’s this great. A book that can still evoke such emotions in me even after a few re-reads.
The whole book is just beautiful and heartbreaking. I loved the whole forbidden student-teacher/second chance romance. Finn and Brantley just stole my heart and I don’t want it back. It’s a love story you can only dream of.
Finley is definitely one of the best books I’ve ever read and I’m so glad that I took a chance at Ella Frank. I’ll definitely read more of her books and can’t wait to read more about the other characters in this book.
Finley (Sunset Cove Series Book 1)
This is Daniel “Finn” Finley and Brantley Hayes’ story.
Wow! This is an emotional, passionate, and extremely heated second chance romance. The author hooked me from the beginning to the end. I couldn’t help but fall in love with Finn and Brantley’s characters even though Finn comes off as pretty arrogant. But in Finn’s defense life threw some rough situations his way. It’s been seven years since Brantley and Finn have seen each other. The chemistry, passion, and love is still there between them but is it enough to overcome all the hurt from the past?
I love how the author writes to where I can feel the range of emotions that the characters experience. Another fantastic read by this author.
This is a second chance MM romance. FYI, contains mature content. I read this story through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.
