I thoroughly enjoyed this book. I thought Dane & Jax were great together. They’ve both suffered loss, Dane with his parents unreachable expectations, the men putting him down and finally his husband Isaac cheating on him with multiple men and then getting m*rdered without Dane getting to say he forgave him for everything and Jax with his brother Ben who was protection for Rhys’s CI when Rhys was still a cop and Rhys’s partner in both respects broke his trust and was working for the dr*g dealer that the CI was testifying against as he’d seen the dealer k*ll another dealer, so was at a safe house awaiting trial when Rhys’s partner found the information about the safe house and gave it to the dr*g dealer the CI, the CI’s mum and Jax’s brother Ben all got m*rdered. I’m loving all these stories so far. Yes, they’ve all pretty much featured insta-love but with each main character either being slightly damaged or in danger I don’t mind the fast paced love story as they’re more likely to grab onto any happiness they can if they’re hurting. It was good to see Cade again but man does he come across as an a*sehole in the way he spoke to Dane, even though he was doing it for the right reason and he wanted to protect his friend and brother from getting hurt further since he knew that Jax really cared about Dane and on the outside it looked like Dane was completely messed up and incapable of love. He’s definitely loyal to a fault and anyone would be lucky to have them in his corner but I’m really looking forward to reading his story and seeing if finding his happily ever after brings down his walls and makes him softer. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
This is the second book in the Finding Series. The beginning of this book runs concurrent with parts at the end of Finding Home and would best be read/listened to after that book.
My biggest issue is that this is *really* short. At 4 hours ~ it’s really more of a novella than a book. It was an OK story as part of the overall series arc, but on it’s own, it leaves a lot to be desired. First, there were a LOT of sex scenes, good ones for sure, but it didn’t allow for much story. Dane was particularly frustrating in his inability to move forward until the very end. When Jax & Dane are *finally* on the same page, the book abruptly ends.
Michael Dean’s narration is consistent with his other performances in the series. Dane & Jax have unique voices as do the secondary characters.
Note: While Finding is it’s own series, some of the Finding characters & events are interconnected with the Escort, Barretti Security, and Protectors series. Visit Sloane Kennedy’s website for a list showing how several of her series tie together and different reading/listening order options. You don’t always have to be familiar with the other books to enjoy them individually, but I really enjoy the entire “world” she has created. My personal preference for reading order is chronological/timing.
Another great MM romance by Sloane Kennedy. I like that in each book, the men and their relationship are different along with the struggles or their baggage is different. I also that the storyline varies as well. But one thing I super enjoy that doesn’t change is how hot the sex scenes are and the emotional component of the stories. So awesome!
I love a single dad romance because you have the added element of not only two people falling in love but the other person falling in love with the child. Right from the start Jax was comfortable and fun with Emma and couldn’t help but falling in love with her just as much as he couldn’t help falling in love with Dane. Even with all of Dane’s insecurities and set backs, Jax patiently waited for Dane. A beautiful story in a small town setting.
Wow, I just loved this one!!!
Love this book and love this series.
Dane has really went through a lot and all he wants to do is focus on starting up his business, taking care of his baby and finding making a home for the 2 of them. A man is the LAST thing on his mind.
But in comes Jaxon. He is a former FBI agent and just so happens to be in the right place at the right time. When suspicious stuff starts happening to Dane he agrees to stay and keep an eye out until they can figure out what’s going on.
The attraction between these two is out of this world HOT! But like all Sloane Kennedy books, this books goes beyond just being hot. It’s intense, heartbreaking, emotional, funny, and a must read!
