Celia Burrows thought she had it all¿a handsome husband, two successful children, and a gorgeous beach house on the Northern coast of Maine. But her perfect life cracks apart when her husband of thirty years informs her that he¿s leaving. In a note. And since problems come in threes, her adult children reveal they¿ve both been struggling with issues of their own.
Before the separation, Celia … separation, Celia was the main caretaker for her elderly father, but as her sisters step up to help in the wake of her troubles, neither of them takes to the role. Being tethered in Bluebird Bay is a nightmare for Anna, the youngest, whose passion for travel photography has taken her around the world. And Stephanie has struggled ever since her husband died in a freak boating accident a couple of years ago.
As Celia begins to come to terms with her own shocking loss, she¿s surprised to feel a giddy sense of freedom. For thirty years, she¿s buried her own dreams in support of her husband¿s vision. But that was the past. It¿s time to pick herself up, dust herself off, and create a better, more fulfilling tomorrow. Now, if only she can convince the other people she loves to do the same…

Wasn’t sure I could relate or get into a book with the main character having grown up children since I like to relate to characters. I was reluctant on starting this series.
Wow oh wow this book was nothing what I expected at all.
Three sisters are amazing and so different from eachother. I really wish I knew them in real life. They are people I would hang out with. These feel like real people with real dilemmas and life experiences. Some hit close to home for me.
The way the story is told isn’t in first person how I’m used to.
What I did have to get used to is whoever it started talking about in the chapter it was more their perception instead of general telling the story.
Even with that change out of my normal, Immediately I was drawn into this book faster than I expected to.
This was maddening, sad, heart warming, exciting, humorous, just overall lots of good feels in this book. Love it!
it was amazing
This was a lovely surprise release from my fave author. This is a perfect read for your summer getaways taking your self to a fictional world. Celia (lead character) finds herself without a husband and a life she used to know inside and out. After the shock of this we see celia look towards new goals and how to move on. Again a great read and competely different genre for me to choose and I will again.
Just what I needed!
This book was everything I could ask for and more! I hate to bring my personal life into it, but I’m currently trying to get over a divorce that was finalized three months ago and trying to deal with that and my social anxiety as I make a life for me and my three daughters. Even though I’m much younger than the main character, Celia, and we have a few other differences, it was so great seeing someone go through that and see her strength and struggles. It really is helping me with my situation and I hope to one day have the strength she has and be able to move forward. I also depend on my sister during this hard time and I love seeing the sisterly love going on in Finding Tomorrow. Celia and her sisters are so inspiring for all ages and this is one book you won’t want to miss!
This book was an awesome treat for those that love a good story about family, finding yourself, and going for your dreams.
It seems that so many books now a days are about young adults that are just starting down the road of life and love, but what about those that think they have it all after years of living?
After years of marriage, children, and settling for whatever makes the masses happy CeeCee has a shock of a life time: her husband doesn’t want her any more. Top it off with drama from her children, sisters, and dad, life for her seems to be rapidly going down hill.
I really love it when a woman finds her “voice” again in a book and reminds us that you can do anything if you put your mind to it and you should never give up when you want something.
Finding Tomorrow was such a wonderful read. I really enjoyed it.
I love how strong Celia Burrows is and her relationship with her sisters. Celia has such a wonderful life, or so she thought. She has to over come what she never expected to over come in life. This book is so beautifully written and you will find yourself relating to the characters.
Finding Tomorrow really put a smile on my face and I highly recommend you read it.
I just adored this book! It is the perfect read for lazy summer days by the pool or on the beach! It’s a book to get lost in for a few hours and you find yourself smiling as you read.
The book follows the lives of three sisters, Celia, Stephanie and Anna as they find themselves a crossroads in their lives. They all had a plan on how life was going to go but soon find out that life has a way of throwing you a curveball. This is where the strength of the book lies. I loved reading the family and friendship dynamics between all three women. They are very close but all are dealing with struggles that often find them on opposing sides. All three must confront what they lost, learn to let go of the past and grab onto a future they never thought possible.
I loved the lighthearted side of this novel. it’s a story of hope and finding that life is still full of adventure no matter your age. You find yourself laughing at the silly moments and cheering the women on as they begin to live their dreams.

While this isn’t the usual story Denise writes she does it flawlessly along with her co-author Christine Gael. It is raw, emotional, heartfelt and very realistic. I loved the bond of the sisters and that they were there for each other no matter what, even when they were having a disagreement. The overall theme of picking yourself up, putting yourself first and following your dreams really hit home with me. The setting of Bluebird Bay is portrayed beautifully and makes me want to visit this little costal town. Hoping for another book where I can reconnect with the characters and learn more about the other sisters as well.
I voluntarily reviewed an Advanced Readers Copy of this book.
Everyone deserves a second chance at not only love but life. Cee-Cee gets divorced after 30 years and has a chance to live life on her terms. It’s a sweet book filled with love, second chances but most of all hope.
Not many people can or will write a book about a older woman. I was greatly surprise when I seen this book was co wrote with one of my favorite authors. As A older reader I sometimes find there isn’t enough age appropriate books. I love living in the young life a book has to offer but sometimes find the story puts me into mom mode and I end up judging the book. I think it hit the mark on a lot of stuff a middle aged woman, wife and mom face. This book had just the right amount of emotions. I was sure we was going to be looking for the tissue and I was wrong. There is a lot of fun and growth in this book. It showed that we sometimes have to have a moment of sadness to move on to a lifetime of happiness. The sisters, town, dad and kids all play a different roll in this book that shows you have people with you to be apart of your struggling journey in life. It brought out the mindfulness to remember at some point if you are not happy then screw what others say. Make yourself happy. You will have people there for you. Cheering you on. Great first book. I look forward to reading the next ones.
I was so excited to see a new series that DGS had a hand in and it did not disappoint! The characters are so relatable. I love how Celia pulls herself together after a devastating event in life and goes for what makes her happy! She is a strong character. I like how real the relationship seems with the sisters. It is a little town that I would love to visit! I hope to see more books from Bluebird Bay!!
What a wonderful book about women in their 50s! I’m 45 and love reading everything Denise writes (because she does it so well) but it was a refreshing change to read about middle-aged women! In the beginning of the book, Celia is faced with the reality that her husband has left her. Her adult children and two sisters have all gone through (or are going through) struggles in their lives but together they get through them. I loved getting to know these characters and seeing how their strength and love can help them evolve and live their best lives. I hope that we get to read more about Celia, Anna, Stephanie (and that note), Mick, Max, and Gabe. This would make a perfect book club read! Thank you for another great read, Denise!
I absolutely loved Finding Tomorrow. It was a wonderful to read about 3 very strong independent women facing real life struggles. I loved Cecile’s journey to finding her strength and independence after her divorce. Stephanie’s recovery from her husbands loss was heartbreaking and powerful at the same time. Anna is such a fun dynamic character. She is approaching changes of her own and I desperately want to see her processing and adapting to these changes. The residents of Bluebird Bay are all real, entertaining, and lovable. Bluebird Bay has so much charm that I think of it as a character itself. I want to live in Bluebird Bay. I really hope we get more books in the Bluebird Bay series. I am eager to see more growth, struggles, love, heartbreak, friendships, and strength for all the residents of Bluebird Bay.
I really loved this book. It is the story of 3 sisters with this book focusing on the oldest sister and her life. She has such a seemingly perfect life which is shattered one day. We follow along with her through betrayal, hurt, rebirth, strength and finding love again. The family dynamics are so true to life. As are the relationship ups and downs with grown children and aging parents. I especially loved that there were “everyday” people in the book. It was nice that everyone wasn’t a millionaire. Being way over 50 myself, it was so refreshing to read about someone in their 50’s. Us older gals can still love, plan, hope and pursue our dreams.
Thank you to the 2 authors for writing this book. I sure hope it is a huge success as I want to read more about Stephanie and Anna.
If you are drawn to stories with strong women, complex relationships and close knit communities, you will love Finding Tomorrow-a story of new beginnings and taking ownership of ones own happiness.
I finished this book in four hours, I seriously couldn’t put it down.
I was drawn to the setting as well as the cast of characters in this book! Bluebird Bay is a quaint coastal town where gossip may spread fast but people look out for one another.
Celia is an intelligent and capable woman who has spent her adulthood tending to her children, her demanding husband and most recently her father. And she bakes a mean cupcake
When her circumstances suddenly change, Celia has no choice but to evaluate her life and what she finds is that she wants to be happy. Supported by her two sisters and her two adult children, Cee-Cee tackles her new life and finds joy in her new challenges.
I hope Denise Grover Swank and Christine Gael will take us back to Bluebird Bay again soon-I’m ready for more!
I’d give this book 3 to 3.5 stars. This book mainly follows the older sister, Celia, as she navigates life as a newly divorced middle aged woman. She has to rediscover what her life’s purpose and creating new dreams for herself, all while navigating how to be single after 30+ years of marriage. You also get snippets of her sister’s lives, Stephanie and Anna, throughout the book.
I found the book was a little difficult to follow at times, mainly when it would switch between the sisters, so it didn’t flow as well as it should have (at least to me). I think titled chapters with “Anna” or “Celia” would have helped with that. I also found the book a little difficult to relate too since i’m not the target demographic for this book (30-married-no kids). Regardless of these two things, I still thought the book was decent. I will continue on with the second book to see what happens in Anna’s story.
There are three books in this series. I loved all three. May reread them. That’s how much I enjoyed them.
I knew I would love this book and I was not disappointed! I love all of Denise’s books! I chose to save these three books to read during the holidays and I’m so glad I did. I’m almost 64, single
and have no thoughts of changing that. Still, I enjoyed these three sisters and their very different lives. Two of them had careers I’m very interested in reading about. I am so happy I can go into the 2nd and third book! Don’t miss these, they are very good!
I really enjoyed this Bluebird Bay novel. The sisters were great, as were some of the quirky characters. The dad having Dementia hit home, as my own dad had Alzheimer’s. I am glad that it didn’t deal too much with it, since I’m not sure how I’d finished reading it. I just thought the whole book over all was sweet! I have already put book 2 on my TBR. One of my author friends recommended this to me, and I’m so glad to have found a new author to love!
loved the story and characters! Can’t wait for part 3 to become available!
Enjoyable. A Maine setting is always a draw for me.
