Another winner for this series! Dark, delicious goodness that keeps you hanging on every word. There are a lot of trigger and some heart breaking moments but man does it give you all the feels!!! Yes you need this in your life!!!
I think this has been my favourite in the series so far! It got me out of a major book funk and, I can’t wait for the next book in the series!
This is the third book in the Whitsborough Chronicles and this one gutted me the most. This book mainly focuses on Travis, Emmett and Ari. This story takes us on a Rollercoaster of emotions. Each character has some very dark dark trauma to unpack in their lives. Watching them struggle and try to claw and fight their way out of the darkness tore me apart. But at the same time seeing their strength and to come out of the other side makes them that much stronger. I absolutely loved this story.
“I’m in love with Adrianna Hinton, and it’s been that way since elementary school. I just haven’t been able to tell her because if I do I will also have to admit to her she just isn’t enough. I would never be content with just her.”
Finding the Light has been my favourite book in this series thus far. It had my emotions on overdrive, Ms Rene cleverly took me down a path I wasn’t ready to take, however it wound around and took me to a happy place. Children are so trusting and little sponges who soak up any attention they can, whether good or bad. We trust our parents to have our best interests at heart and to be our protectors not our tormentors. The damage done to a child never leaves them and has a huge impact on their lives. Although this story is heartbreaking it has the perfect balance of darkness, light and laughter. To redemption awaits me and I need to see this unconventional family, group of friends get theirs.
I swear each book I read of CA she destroys just that little bit more of my heart with all her characters!
We’re back in Whitsborough but this time Travis, Emmett and Adrianna are the MC! Don’t get me wrong we still get to see Em and Vin throughout, but I’m loving seeing these three up front and personal.
This book has lots of triggers and is a dark ménage story, I cried, I screamed and I cheered the three of them on throughout this book.
I love how even in book 3 secrets and truths are still being revealed with so many more to be uncovered. CA has an amazing way with words that suck you in and won’t spit you out til the very last word is read, the Whitsborough world and characters have so much depth and each book the characters grow more and more especially as a family unit. I seriously can’t wait to see where she takes us with book 4 with Em and Vin being the MC’s again!
ARC REVIEW- Finding The Light by C.A. Rene
O.M.G…..Finding the Light is an intense, intriguing, dark read. Finding the Light is the third in the Whitsborough Chronicles and it is one of the best in this series. Well….maybe just as good as the rest. Sometimes some books stand out more in a series and that is what Finding the Light does. The Whitsborough Chronicles Series is filled with lots of intrigue, twists, turns, secrets, revelations, heat, and lots of dirty, filthy sex. Also, just a warning it also has quite a few triggers so if you do have triggers please do not read this series. Finding the Light has all of this and so much more. Finding the Light really shocked me. I usually am not too far of with knowing where certain stories will go but Finding the Light definite not predictable. You (reader) may think you know what is happening and then you find out it is not what you thought at all. C.A. Rene, author, has fast become on of my top 10 fave author and that is only after reading two of her series but I think Finding the Light has just pushed her into the top five. C.A.’s writing style is one that I really like but what I love about her writing is that it brings out your emotions and you can’t predict where the story will go. Just when you (readers) think you know what is going to happen something will pop up and surprise you which is what happened in Finding the Light. Here I was with tears running down my face and thinking “no way that just happened” and then to find out it was totally not what you thought. I had to smile and shake my head. Another thing that I love about her writing is that it doesn’t just bring out your darker emotions it also brings out some lighter carefree ones too. With Finding the Light there were some places in the book where I cracked up laughing and where I couldn’t stop smiling and my husband gave me strange looks. Didn’t help that we were in my doctors waiting room when this happened and my husband started shaking his head when he asked and I held up my iPad as he knows I must be on my kindle app reading . Finding the Light is not only filled with lots of twist, turns, surprises (things going sideways), secrets, revelations, emotions, but a lot of heat too. I have to say that there is a lot of hot, steamy sex scenes that can really get you hot and bothered too. I totally and absolutely recommend reading Finding the Light. Well…the whole series because the storyline will jot make sense if you don’t read them in order). Since all of the books for this series is out I am onto Book 4, To Redemption.
I’ve got this book as an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
Where do I start now? This is the third book in the series and so far all three of them have been amazing, although I have to say that I love mostly Ember’s POV. Could be probably because I rarely read a book from male’s POV so…
Regardless, this story was amazing, twisted, regretful and telling.
The worst thing probably? The way that what C.E. Rene is writing about could pretty much be also real somewhere in the world and that’s not great. Which this is not bad for the book, it’s just that I’m always comparing books to real life.
In this story we get a behind look on Travis and what his life growing up looked like. If you think his light was easy-breezy, you’d be mistaken. His light was anything BUT!
His story was, may I dare to say, horrendous but truly strong.
In some way Ember and Travis are the same. Neither of them had a pretty childhood and both of them had to deal some way with it.
What I have to admit is that I have “fast read” some parts in this book, because I just couldn’t read it. It’s not that it was written poorly or something, no. It was just too real for me and, let me say it because otherwise it wouldn’t make sense – it was about kids. And as I have discovered that topic is a taboo for me.
Parts of this book I thought I’d scream at the author for what she did to me emotionally!
I truly liked this book a lot. It wasn’t my 5 star read, hence the 4 stars, but still a truly awesome one.
There is so much more I’d say about the book, but as I’m still processing it I’m not remembering it all. Also what I’d love to talk about would probably be a spoiler and that’s a no-no for me. If you’d like to know more thought, please don’t hesitate to message me.
This should be titled Finding the Darkness. I believe this is where it picks up steam and gets extremely dark. My favorite of the series so far. So much ugly truth finally came out and it’s hard to believe it’ll get cleared up in one more book. There were so many bittersweet moments in here. Travis gets the brunt of everything and has much more to deal with than the rest of the characters. I was so distraught when I thought something happened to him. If you want to know what you’ll have to read and find out.
I love this series, and I cannot wait to read more by C.A. Rene.
This book is mainly about Travis and Emmet but we get Ember to. This is a MMF dark romance and I won’t lie I loved it!!! I recommend reading book 1 and 2 before reading this!! The cover is also amazing and the style and all of the cover matches the other books and I love it!! Travis is oh my I love!!! C.A. Rene did an amazing job with him and his story! We also get Adri to which I was so damn happy about as she is one of my favorites. When I found out this book was in Travis and Emmet POV and squealed! After I finished this I absolutely couldn’t wait to jump into book 4.
Finding The Light by C.A. Rene is a dark revenge romance. This is the third book in the Whitsborough Chronicles series and should be read in order.
This book does come with a Trigger Warning “Past sexual abuse of a minor, murder, attempted suicide.”
I absolutely love C.A. Rene’s books! She does an amazing job pulling me into the story. There are so many twists and turns in this series that kept me captivated until the very end. I loved that this book was centered around Emmett and Travis. I absolutely love these two!
I really liked that we got Emmett, Travis, and Ember’s point of view throughout the book. It really brings the story to life.
The book does end on a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to dive into the next book in the series To Redemption.
I would highly recommend this series if you like dark romances, contemporary romances, or romantic suspense.
This book is MFM and tell us about Travis, Emmett and of course, Adri. I wasn’t ready for this and did not exactly expect this to happen but I’m happy it did since Travis had a chance to find the light and came out of the darkness around him.
Learning about Travis made my life harder and better at the same time. Since book 1 I wanted to know more about him since I found him intriguing to say at least.
There are a couple of things I wanted to say about this book but I think I’ll just leave with this quote: “everything was dark and I couldn’t focus on the things that brought me light.” This quote is so powerful and sometimes we might feel that way so I wanted to tell you that are reading this, please talk to someone. I know it’s not easy but I really hope you find that person/thing that helps you through the dark.
This book contains triggers and even when I usually don’t care that much, I had to stop reading for a couple of minutes and cry in a corner, so- be careful.
“Finding The light” is the third book of the “Whitsborough Chronicles” by the author C.A. Rene. Told in dual perspectives , get ready to meet Tristan , Emmett and Adri.
Tristan and Adri had been a long time coming and Emmett was a surprise addition to me! The book was hot and hilarious and everything I wanted. It wasn’t that long and was a good one time read for me.
Tristan already had me intrigued from book 1 and so did Adri. I had been dying to know what had really happened between them and how they overcame it. The plotline of the story continues after Em and Vin’s duet so it is better to read those two books before this one!
A definite recommendation to all the dark Romance lovers out there!!
I don’t know where to start with this book but it literally shattered me . I couldn’t put this book down . . I love watching that’s grow between Emmett, Travis and Adrianna . It was so raw it Took me on roller coaster ride with emotions . They are trigger warnings in this book and it’s not for everyone! C.A. Rene you are awesome writers . Off I go to read the book 4 trust me I highly recommend this series !!!!!
In the third book of the Whitsborough Chronicles it’s time to get to know better Emmett, Travis and Adri.
I was curious about Travis since the first book and definitely wasn’t expecting for his past to be so dark and heartbreaking.
The storyline in this one was dark, raw and emotional. At times I really wished it was a m/m story with just Travis and Emmett, but I understand why they needed Adri.
I also completely fell in love with Emmett and, as much as I love Ember and Vin, he is now my new favorite.
This series just keeps getting better with each book and I can’t wait for the next one!
It is a must read for all the fans of dark romance!
Oh my god does this lady likes to mess with your damn mind. This is Bk 3 of the Whitsborough Chronicles and it’s Travis story and believe me you will need the tissues. This story reached in and grabbed my heart and shredded it. What a wild ride of emotional chaos and tangled web of secrets and lies these people of Whitsborough hide in their everyday lives.
That’s as much as I’m saying you’ll just have to read it yourself and let me tell you this…you don’t want skip this book, because there’s only 1 book left about this town brimming with corruption and lies. I have to say after reading 3 of the 4 stories in this series I cannot wait to find out what happens next.
Book 3 takes a little bit of a detour. This book mainly focuses on Travis and Emmett through their own POV as Ember and Vin have left the country to track down Talia who is supposedly the mastermind of everything that is Embers life…The timing of this book could not have been better. It gave us an intermission to the savagery that is Embers life and gives us this beautiful journey of love between not only Adri and Travis, but Adri, Travis, and Emmett. It truly tells us the tale that brings these broken souls together and the acceptance that they are beginning to feel. They are finally realizing that they are capable to love and to receive love and wow it does not disappoint. The way this author writes these characters is honeslty second to none. She writes them with a realness that is refreshing. They make mistakes, they are not perfect and its a truly beautiful story.
It shows us the journey to find Travis mom , it shows us depression and mental health. Its a incredible journey and I was crying through most of this book. There was one part where I literally was not sure that i could turn the page. I was like I cannot go on. But I did and man I am so happy I did. There are MANY triggers in this book but if you take the chance and just go for it, you will be rewarded in the end…I find my self wishing that I could start all over again fresh. These boys are in my heart forever and it shows us that if you find your people, you can start to heal and find the light after the darkness…
What did I just do to myself? My Emotions are spent! I have no words, but Yeah … definitely need more… moving onto the fourth book in the series immediately because if I don’t I may not come back from the emotional rollercoaster Ride I have just taken… Well DONE!
Finding The Light is the 3 book in the series and holy cow I was not expecting how this one turned. Travis story not only involves him and Adrianna but also Emmett. There is so much going in this book. You will carrying through all kind of emotion. Finding The Light might be the best in the series. The book is so hot. C. A. Rene keeps writing better book each time. The characters is so wonderful and sexy. Please remember this book has tiggers.
Again I couldn’t stop reading. This book broke my heart. Seriously, shattered me to my core. This book seems to center around loyalty and I love that. I love watching the dynamic of the characters. Ember is one lucky girl. Family is who you choose, not formed by blood and this book is that perfect example.
