Emmett, Travis and Adrianna are the main characters of finding the Light, and you guess it, is an MMF romance. I know, you didn’t expect that, but the whole series is unexpected, so this makes it more interesting.
Since the second book I thought that this book will be amazing and for sure it didn’t disappoint me. We get to see how their relationship develops, how they embraced their feelings for each other.
Travis had my heart in this book, he really had a rough life, under the false disguise of a wealthy and happy family, and when all he endured came into light, I felt his pain, and cried a little too. But good thing that he has Emmett and Adrianna which helped him to overcome the bad things. I love Emmett personality; he really defuses all the “explosive to be” situations between Travis and Adrianna. I liked the connection between Ember and Travis, they are not romantically involved, but their friendship is taken to a new level. Also, the bickering between Ember and Emmett is hilarious.
Even though the story focuses on different couple, we still discover secrets, it seems that the saga goes on, all the characters are involved in this big story, and I can’t wait to see how it all plays in the end.
Holly shit, I almost had a heart attack with the scare this author pulled on us. You can’t do this shit to us! We get emotional invested in these characters, I couldn’t bear the pain if one of them died. Fuck. This author is ruthless, and so fucking talented. This series just get better and better. I loved to read Travis and Emmett’s POV, we got to know more about them, dig deeper into their demons. And it was so fucking painful. I wouldn’t wish this hell on my worst enemy. Or maybe I would, depending on what that person did. Damn I think I’m getting the Ember fever. Moving on… I loved to see their relationship evolve, from stolen glances and touches to a beautiful and heart warming love. They were made for each other, and I couldn’t be happier for them. Now let’s see what more this author has in store for these amazing characters
This is the third book in the Whitsborough Chronicles, and the story of Travis, and Emmett. This book gives us a good look at Travis’ childhood, whats shaped him into the person he is today. This was another dark read in this series, and I can’t wait to read book four. This is emotional, twisted, intense, raw, gritty, dramatic, action-packed, and suspenseful.
Jesus this woman can write.
Finding the Light is Book 3 in the Whitsborough Chronicles.
Centred around Travis, Emmett and past events merged with present pains.
If book one was a grey scale book, book 2 was a nice dark romance book, this one, book 3, is god damned dark and twisted. My heart and soul hurt for these poor children.
Travis is a saint, with a broken heart and a tortured soul. Emmett is a sheltered, sweet and strong man.
This book will haunt you and soothe those scars of history, But beware the dark, twisted and depraved secrets that unfold.
What do I say what can I say about this book.. once again I have no words for @c.a.rene wonderful book baby.. this woman is a beautiful evil sadistic genius with her words.. I just cant even.. gutted I’m just gutted.. this book tore my heart from my chest and shattered it.. and I loved every second of it.. just so good so so so good the best mmf I have ever read.. the first the is only from the men’s point of view and the story was just so damn good and sucked me in that I didn’t even notice and just left me wanting more and more… and omg i forgot about the steam.. you know a book is damn fucking good when you forget about the steam.. this is book 3 out of 4 in the whistborough chronicles if you have not read these you neeeeeed to like right now go go go..
This is book 3 in the whitborough chronicles. I think this was my favorite book out of all 4. I have been looking forward to travis’ story and it absolutely broke me. That little boy that he was, was so broken and taken advantage of at such a young age. This book makes you want to hurt everyone for him.
I’ve never read an MM before even though this has MFM. I have never been so turned on by a book before. I almost died.
I loved getting to know Travis on a deeper level. All the things that he’s been through has made him a better person. He may be a brooding keep to himself guy but he hasn’t let it harden him. He will always be one of my Numero Uno’s.
My sweet sweet murderous
Emmett, you my man have the biggest heart. Em goes through like a recking ball and tears down the walls of those around him and ultimately brings everyone together much like Ember.
C.A. Rene has absolutely shocked me with this book. It has everything you could want in a book. There are triggers in this book.
I am so glad this author messaged me to read her books, definitely an author that I’ll be continuing to read. I loved the first 2 books and they got darker and darker, but this one was the darkest yet. Although some of it was hard to read, it was so well written that I was sucked in and couldn’t put it down. I loved that it was mmf and how their relationship grew over time.
There was a part near the end where it made me cry and I was cursing the author for letting it turn that way but then got the shock of my life further on.
If you haven’t read this series or heard of this author please do, you won’t be disappointed.
Highly recommend!
You know, I don’t like to pick favorites. Ever. Ok I lied it’s been Travis all along.
I have been waiting for his story because I just knew it was going to be so so good. Now mind you, here we are at book 3 so I was prepared for trauma this time, it was very present in book 2. I steeled myself for it this time around. Mostly. Things got REALLY rough at chapter 30. I will admit I closed the book, screamed, and refused to finish it. Then I took a breath and wiped away my tears and forced myself to keep on trekking. I would have been SO angry if I hadn’t.
The dynamic on this one was very different, as stated in many previous reviews this book was a MFM romance (WHY CHOOSE, AM I RIGHT!?). From book 1 I knew Travis had so much more going on than he eluded to on the surface. My curiosity was immediate. There was obvious depth to what was going on with him and Adri, then you toss Emmett into the mix and holy cow!
I adore Emmett. He had me busting up throughout the whole book. Him and Ember really sucked you in and made you feel like part of the family. He is an easy contender for my favorite but I’ll stick by Travis. Travis is baby. Good thing we don’t really have to choose, huh? They just work so well together!
It was easy to relate to Travis on several levels for me. He went through some things that unfortunately a lot of us have also been through. It’s all too common and really hard for some to cope with. While some people may criticize authors for touching on subjects like this, I for one appreciate seeing it addressed. It’s a necessary evil on the road to acceptance. Once we can see that we aren’t alone in it and we can see that there’s nothing wrong with us for having been through it, for having the feelings we have, we can move on. Hopefully. Too often do we feel we need to suppress certain things about ourselves for the comfort of others. In the process of doing what we think may be protecting others, we lose ourselves. We die slowly and we don’t always find something or someone to revive us. We plummet into darkness and it’s a suffocating place.
But with a family like theirs, and a love like the one they all share, they found a way to breathe freely again. They clawed through that darkness. They overcame.
They found the light.
I’d like to think we all can. I’d like to think we all have that chance. Or maybe we’ll just sport some super bright tracksuits, sign up for space camp, and call it even?
Wow!!! The author does it again. I was not able to put down the book. I loved every minute of Emmets and Travis story. Their story has twist and turns. You must read all the books to understand what each character means and the stories they went thru. Definitely recommend this series and this book
AN ANOTHER AMAZING BOOK BY THIS AUTHOR!! This book we get to follow Travis!! And if you have read book 1 & 2 then you should be as excited as I am for this one!
Learning more about Travis’s back story was absolutely gut wrenching. Everything this poor boy went through! I am so glad he had Emmett, Adrianna, Ember and Vin to lean on!!! This book was an emotional one!! I can’t wait for book 4 and for more of my favorite characters!!! I don’t think I can ever get enough!!!
*TRIGGER WARNING*
Finding the Light is the 3rd book in the Whitsborough Chronicles Series. This book is told from the POV of Travis and Emmett. We continue on the journey with the family as we dive into the past and present with Travis and Emmett. We learn what the boys have endured and it’s pretty fucked up.
While Emmett seems to have made peace with his past, there is clearly some unresolved trauma for Travis. It runs deeper than they think when they start to dig deeper into it. It tore at my heart and made me super emotional. Travis feels sooooo much but believes he is unworthy due to his past.
I’m messed up and I’m completely fucking selfish. I just pray that one day I will figure out exactly what it is I can live with and just exist. That’s all I’m expecting for my life anyways, to just exist. -Travis
The dynamic of feelings changes in this book as well between Emmett and Travis. As they start to become closer, closer they become. Insert Adri.
Like, who do I want? Travis or Adri? What if I want both? What the fuck am I going to do? -Emmett
The secrets and lies of the town are more than they could have ever thought, with reach farther than even that. There is a whole network of fucked up shady shit going on and they are determined to get to the bottom of it.
I will hold all these good memories close to my heart because I know things are going to get dark and murky soon. I’m going to get dark soon and after everything I have done and everything I am about to do, the road to redemption seems long and endless. -Ember
Dark MMF romance
Finding the Light is a much anticipated third book follow up to the Whitsborough Chronicles. The main characters are Travis and Emmett, but we see all our series favorites as well.
This installment has a series of flashbacks from Travis’ POV. The rest of the book is mainly just the two previously mentioned, except for a few instances.
This is a MMF dark romance and is part of a series. I don’t really recommend reading this without reading the two prior books.
There are triggers (past sexual abuse of a minor, illegal fights [to the death], drugs, murder, gore, attempted suicide, etc.).
I kept thinking while reading this how good it would be if it were a tv series. It has all the drama, sexual tension, overcoming past turmoil, fighting against people in power who use and abuse others, and more. It’s just excellent drama one word at a time.
Love this installment. The characters have a depth to them that I can literally feel as I read it. Highly recommend for fans of dark romance. This is an honest review given after receiving an ARC of this book which officially releases on June 15.
