This is an intense, emotional historical romance with a lot of darkness before any chance of an HEA. Themes include guilt, abandonment, loss, depression, and attempted suicide. There is also hope, redemption, and love. Beautifully delivered story.

This great Victorian Historical romance had a great character and storyline development which made this book a very enjoyable read which made it very hard to put this book down!
A too familiar theme in this world of ours. A tale of tragedy and death. The story beautifully covers the grief of the three major characters in the story. Lady Jessalyn, her brother Lord Christian and Christian’s best friend, Lord Ethan. Each of them carried heavy, heavy burdens. For one, it was the past that taunted, for the another, it was the loss of love, for another was unrequited love and a fatal illness. This is a hauntingly beautiful story of the courageous spirt of love that intertwined these three people together for all time. At one point in the story, I cried. The ending is a gentle reminder that there is hope and no one can predict the future. It could hold years of happiness or/and some painful experiences along the way. But that is life. One has to take a gamble one way or another. It was a comfort how the author ended the story in a very loving and tender way. I loved reading this and highly recommend it. Great story. Jessalyn comes to her brother’s house in London to get her dowry because she is pregnant by one of her brother’s stablehands. Unknown to her Christopher has gambled everything away including her dowry and is presently dying from consumption. To save her, Christopher asked Ethan’s brother Julian to contact him and request he return to England. When he returns, Ethan finds Christopher dying, Jessalyn pregnant and unwed. Christopher requests he marry Jessalyn in order to save her after the father of her child deserts her. Ethan has a lot of bad memories that still haunt him but agrees to the marriage. There is a lot more happening in this book but you need to read it for yourself. There is a HEA for Jessalyn and Ethan but not before he almost destroys their marriage. This is a great read and I would highly recommend this book.
Lady Jessalyn Hunter and Ethan Tremaine is a well-written story that once I started I was not putting down the story flowed from page to page. I want to read more in this series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Beast historical romance I have read in awhile. Excellent story along with the characters that mesh so well it has your emotions going along with each part of the story. They all have their hurt and baggage to work through. That is the road of life. No spoilers. Read the blurb. This is so good a story I want you to read it for yourself. I was given a review copy by booksprout and voluntarily review it.
