This is the first book in a series that follows a young woman who is determined not to let her tragic past keep her down. Anna has worked hard to built herself a life that she can be proud of. But there is so much that she doesn’t know about her world or herself. She is about to find out that being strong and independent doesn’t mean that she has to be alone.

This book is amazing. I really like all the main characters. The author’s writing style is also good. I don’t regret reading this book. I am glad I decided to read it.
Sooo I didn’t know what to think about this book at first. I still don’t but I’m willing to give these characters a chance. This is my first time reading C.C. Masters. At times, well, most times these characters don’t act their age. Some are very strange but we all are strange in some ways. The twins in this book are very, very childish. Sometimes it’s annoying, some times it’s endearing, sometimes I don’t think it’s necessary. The heroine, Anna…she’s certainly a different type of h. The packs reaction to her is different from normal books but I like that since it’s not a copy of other books and this pack is different from the rest. I will be continuing this series.
Overall: 4/5
What a great start to this series. We get to meet Anna who has survived as a lone wolf after a really rough childhood. Life gets thrown of our wack when a friend is murdered. As she is taken into the local pack we get to meet a wonderful group of guys that include a set of wacky twins. The interactions that followed had me hooked as they all for to know one another and all I could say was “awe” when I hit the last page. Welcome to a well written new shifter world that I really enjoyed so I give it 4/5 stars.
I really like this story so far. Anna is an awesome MC and even though she is lonely and has over so much from her past. But she keeps going and she has a great job, has got a college degree and everything. Then she meets the pack and they accept her for who she is. I can’t wait to see where this story goes in book 2.
Sooo…I thought this would be a 3-star read because subconsciously I was thinking, wolves again? (At least right before I read it.) But I was surprised that I really loved it!
First, I loved the pacing of the story. I haven’t skimmed a page, so, it was a great factor.
Second, my past few RH reads had headstrong heroines right off the bat. I was kind of looking for a heroine who would start off as someone whose strength was more on the quiet side then gradually grow into a more well-rounded character. Anna definitely had the potential. And frankly, her family and social issues warranted circumstances like wanting to establish family traditions with the pack or tolerating the likes of kelsey. Side note: I hoped to see her grew away from the latter btw.
Lastly, I was actually debating whether to give four stars or five stars for this book. And I would admit that I finally rated 5 stars because of the sneak peek in the end. It was really a beautiful twist to see a brief scene (of book 1) from the viewpoint of one of the guys. Throughout Anna’s POV, it was easy to misjudge the guys. And when I say misjudge, I meant, to be unable to get past the surface of their characters/fully grasp their complexity.
Anyway, I just couldn’t wait to read the next book and get a feel of each of the heroes!
