An unexpected surprise brings the Mitchell family of Savannah a chance to experience the Christmas trip of their dreams. An unexpected disappointment threatens to turn it into the worst Christmas of their lives. John Finch and his friend Alfred live in the woods. Been doing it for decades. He likes wintering in Florida, but this year’s been particularly harsh. Between the cold, freezing rain and … and terrifying lightning storms, John’s starting to wonder how much more of this lifestyle he can take. A new friend enters the picture and changes everything. Kim Harper, the dog trainer introduced in Rescuing Finley, is contacted by a billionaire philanthropist seeking her help with a new dog training project that will help the homeless. Is he for real? And is her co-worker right? Does this rich, handsome man’s interest in Kim go much deeper than her dog-training skills?

Geared more for young adults to read.
Heartwarming good book for all ages.
I enjoyed this book. It’s a story about a dog that gets lost but is found and rescued by new owners. You don’t find out until the end if the original owners find it or not. Suspenseful, interesting and satisfying.
Riley had me in tears and laughter. I truly enjoyed how the girl and the dog bonded and then when they had the closing program, it was awesome. It was also enjoyable watching the couple fall into love.
This book is a wonderful story about a family dog that gets lost, a humane shelter, a group of homeless people and a project to help the homeless. Jeffrey and his family live in Savannah, Georgia. They take a trip to Disney World with the family dog, Riley. on the way home Riley chases a rabbit and gets loose from his leash. Jeffrey hurts his ankle and must be taken to the emergency room in Summerville, Florida. Riley is confused and wanders into a homeless camp where John Finch bonds with the dog. And this all takes place at Christmas.
I LOVE THIS AUTHOR’S APPROACH.
Predictable,

Enjoyed the read
One of the best Christmas stories ever.
I’m 84 and I just liked it .
Great Story, I love books about dogs and people. Real life stories.
Enjoyed it nice change from romance I usually read.
As an animal lover and a mom to 4 adopted cats and 2 dogs I LOVED this book, as well as the other 2 in the series. The only negative thing I have to say is that he hasn’t written any more in this series. I would definitely read them. I highly recommend reading all 3 books. I would say that ‘Saving Parker’ is a slight tear jerker.
Dan Walsh NEVER dissapoints. I own all 3 in this series so far.
I like anything Dan Walsh writes. In fact I am reading Saving Parker right now.
Sweet but predictible story. I loved how it was told from the dog’s point of view.
Very interesting want to read the next one
Enjoyed the way the author developed and connected the story lines and characters
