Wow, this is the first book I’ve read by this author, and I am hooked.
This is a short novella, a genre I find VERY few authors can write successfully. I am happy to say, this author excelled.
The story introduces us to Moonshine Bay, a small town where some go to vacation at, while others retire there or make it their permanent home.
Rachel, a newly divorced woman, decides to spend the summer in Moonshire not only to relax, but also to re-discover herself after over 20 years of marriage.
When she meets the bar owner, Evan Harris, the attraction is immediate and while at first it seems that she’ll get a chance to know him better, circumstances , people and a past might hinder that.
Will they get a chance to explore and deepen their friendship, or will the past intervene?
An engaging plot from the start, with complex characters that are well developed in just a few pages.
Can’t wait to read another story in this series. Hopefully, Evan and Rachel will show up again.
I was entrusted a copy of this book by Booksprout. The opinions expressed are solely my own.
Shocking. Fantastic. Loving.
I am so sorry for Rachel. I wish I was there to help her.
Love small towns. Even tho theres no secrets it is great to have people who care or help.
Love this book.
A good story but a bit stilted at times. Rachel and Evan are both rather damaged commodities. Neither were looking for companionship when they found each other.
I enjoyed these characters, the town, and the development of the relationship between them. One star was knocked off because I felt a little uneasy about how things went and the attitudes with their spouses. I can’t say what I’d do in either situation, but it put me a little on edge. That said, I was impressed at how thorough of a story was compacted into a short story. Not every author can do that.
Rachel had been married for over twenty years when her marriage derailed and her husband asked for a divorce. To start a new life by herself was not going to be easy and she decided to take sometime to think what to do with herself at a friend´s house at the beach in Moonshire Bay. The small town was friendly and although she was not looking forward to a social life she discovers she made new friends and may be found a new love. She questions her decisions all the time and is afraid that she would let the mistakes of the past interfere with her present. A simple and well written love story with all the heart aches of a break up and a new building of a life.

This is a quick read, sweet story. Sometimes you just want to read something quick and fun. I enjoy this author’s work. You may also want to read this intro to the new series.
It is a short story about a small town and perfectly paced for being a quick read. As this is book one it to me didn’t have many characters involved to see where the series would go. This one was how Rachel and Evan worked through events in their lives and are moving on together.
Rachel rents a house in Moonshire Bay, after her divorce. She surprises herself, when she sees a man on the beach and finds him attractive. While having lunch with Laura, that same man enters the diner and Laura introduces her to Evan. They are both attracted to each other. Evan and Rachel run into each other at the grocery and he invites her to dinner, he’s grilling steaks. Rachel surprises herself and says yes. At the end of the night, they share a kiss. Could this be the start of something or is Evan too broken after what he experienced in his past? Grab your copy and see what happens in this quick that will have you wanting to visit Moonshire Bay.
Although short, this was a very well written story. It would be great to get more of these characters’ story.

I enjoyed reading this short, sweet, and clean romance The main character, Rachel, rented a summer cottage, in what sounded like a beautiful location, in order to have some much-needed quiet time after her divorce. She met Evan, the owner of the local bar, and the two had an instant chemistry that was fun to read about. The book was well-written and the characters were likable, in spite of their troubled pasts and insecurities. I do think it could have been even better if it were a bit longer, and we could have seen more interaction between them as their relationship progressed. Overall though, it was a good read that I would recommend to romance lovers, particularly those who have experienced divorce, and those who love warm and fuzzy happy endings.

Rachel is deeply hurt by a divorce that she did not want. She rents a place in Michigan for the summer to relax and get her feet under her again.
However her first day she sees a great looking guy on the beach, but she’s not interested is she?
Evan, the local bar owner also is hiding his personal issues as well. Sparks fly when they meet, will they be able to put the past behind them? Don’t miss this sweet novella. A first read by this author for me. I will look for more of her books. I received this book through Booksprout
And am now posting my thoughts on this review.
Book one in the A Moonshire Bay Small Town Romance series a well written short story. By a Author I have not read before I want to read the next book. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Even though this was a quick read you got to meet some likable characters and great introduction to Moonshire Bay. Rachel needs a breather from life after her divorce and she finds the perfect beach side cottage to do so, not realising the wonderful place it is and that meeting Evan will change what she thought she wanted. I really liked how both Rachel and Evan weren’t looking for love and therefore struggled with it, I would have loved for it to have been a bit longer so we could draw things out a bit more and get to know them better but it was a great read start to finish and can not wait to read more about Moonshire Bay!

Rachel finds herself divorced after being married for more than 20 years. Her new condo is not ready yet, so she has a rental house for the summer, a few hours away on the beach. Evan is a permanent resident of Moonshire Bay, owning the local bar. He’s single-ish – a car accident 10 years ago left his son dead and his wife in an irreversible coma. This is such a nice book. Rachel and Evan think that their romance days are behind them, but love doesn’t care who or when or how old. They’re forced to examine what they really want in life. I especially like that this is a book shows love coming for older couples. I’m so glad that I took a chance with this new-to-me author, and excited for the rest of the series.

Not all second chance romance is sweet.
Sometimes when you’ve been burnt, it isn’t easy to move past pain and focus on new opportunities
Will pain and anger – and past baggage- keep a promising couple apart?
Live that’s not all butterflies and roses that might be worth the work!
This was a super short and super sweet romance novella with slightly older characters which I love as it still gives me hope my Mr Right is out there. Two people who’ve sworn off love and relationships, but are forced to reassess there thinking when they are instantly attracted to each other and can’t get the other out of their minds. I love a happy ending.

Not knowing what to do with her life after divorce, the character in this book rents a house in a small Michigan town and takes the summer off to figure out her life. From the time she gets there, she meets a man who is far from happy or sociable. It just so happens fate makes them see each other more than intended. His life has not been a happy one and his pain comes out more in anger. The more the see each other the more feelings they start having for each other. However, terrible memories and ex-husbands showing up may put an end to something that could have been good. Well written story of love after different hurts. I received this book as a gift in exchange for an honest review.

I want to know more about them and if there is a HEA for them.
