I really enjoyed this book. I thought Gray & Luke were perfect together but I did think that Luke accepted his newfound feelings for Gray way too easily as there wasn’t even really a momentary pause for thinking he was completely straight for his whole life to then really liking Gray but that’s just a minor issue. I liked that they both got to actually know each other instead of just jumping in bed together. I think it made it more authentic since Luke has never had feelings for a man. I’m glad that they found each other when they both needed someone. Gray because he’s secretly going through Chemo because he has t*sticular cancer that’s spread to his liver and Luke is being framed for the m*rder that his s*distic Commanding Officer Shaw committed when he k*lled his accomplish and their team mate using Luke’s gun, all to cover up that he’d m*rdered a mother and her kids as well as their team mate Evan and the attempted m*rder of Luke when they were in Afghanistan trying to find the t*rrorist at the number one spot on the FBI’s most wanted list and Shaw thought that the mother and her kids were the t*rrorist’s family even though the mother said that she doesn’t even know the guy. I love how protective both Gray and Luke are of each other and I’m glad that Luke reconnected with his foster brother Rhys and I’m glad that Gray and his half brother Roman kind of reconnected and Gray’s parents/Roman’s dad are completely horrible people, and they don’t deserve kids. I’m looking forward to reading Roman and Hunter’s book next which I think is going to be a pretty hard book to read. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.
This is my favorite of the series so far. I think because while there are numerous steamy sex scenes Kennedy spends significantly more time on Gray & Luke’s stories as well as their developing relationship. I don’t want to give away Gray’s secret – but the way Kennedy handles it and Luke’s reactions/response is heartbreaking and wonderful. While the timeline is still only a few weeks – there’s definitely more to them than lust. I also found the suspense element to be much more engaging.
Roman, Gray’s brother, is introduced in this book and gets his own story in Finding Forgiveness.
Updated 7/21/2020 for audio review: Michael Dean’s narration is consistent with his other performances in the series. Gray & Luke have unique voices as do the secondary characters.
Notes: While Finding is it’s own series, some of the Finding characters & events are interconnected with the Escort, Barretti Security, and Protectors series. Visit Sloane Kennedy’s website for a list showing how several of her series tie together and different reading/listening order options. You don’t always have to be familiar with the other books to enjoy them individually, but I really enjoy the entire “world” she has created. My personal preference for reading order is chronological/timing.
Another great one. A totally different storyline but with all the emotions and all the heat.
Gray and Luke pulled out all of the emotions. There was love, despair, hope, loss and joy just to make a few. Gray who was running away to deal with his health issue found Luke who was running away from a law issue met at the perfect time to help each other and of course they fell in love. The insecurities both men brought to the relationship did end up making an appearance during the break up scenes however they were able to work through it for their happily ever after.
I absolutely adored Gray and Lukes story!!
This was a very good shortish novel, and I enjoyed the heck out of it. I am a sucker for sick guys who eventually get better plus there was a selfish arrogant killer in the mix so that was a total win for me. I liked both MCs. They were both brooding and had past that was painful but still were very approachable and easy to relate. Plus Ripley the stray dog won a piece of my heart – such a sweetheart.
There was a fair bit of angst, couple of tears were shed and, and oh so steamy intimate scenes made my evening! Ms Kennedy wrote a good one here. Although I would have liked it to be a bit longer, it introduced new characters into the mix, and I am very curious about what’s going to be next. I am enjoying this series very much and I recommend this book.
My god what a heart wrenching story but beautiful too. To see everything Luke did to take care of Gray was absolutely beautiful. And I felt like I was experiencing Grays sickness with him, all the ups and downs, the fear and hope. It was just amazing. These two definitely deserved their happy ending. I can’t recommend this book enough!
