What a beautiful book by Maryann Jordan. This is a sensual and engaging read. The characters and the city of Baytown are so rich and detailed.
I love how through the book we find out about the other characters in Baytown.
I can’t wait for the next book
4 stars
I purchased a copy of the the novel Baytown Boys book 4 by Maryann Jordan and this review was given freely.
Continuing with the MacFarlane family, quite ex-Marine now pub owner Brogan and officer Ginny finally work through their military related mental health issues and give in to their attraction to each other. A twisted steamy romance blended with a prowler in Bayton, and multiple forms of sexual abuse including exploitation of high schoolgirls. The sinister undertone is balanced by the loving and playful comradery of the Baytown Girls and the MacFarlane family.
I read to escape the real world but there are times when a book hits very close to home and drags all your emotions out as you read.
This book is Brogan MacFarlane and Ginny Spencer’s story and I enjoyed watching their love for each other manifest itself as these two awesome people struggle to handle their demons and discover they can better handle them when they share not only with each other but people that genuinely care about them.
While there are no deaths in this book there is crime, mystery, family love, friends discovered and love found. They caught the bad guy and reached their HEA in a big way.
I guess on reason this book captured me is because I am the mother of a retired Marine that was in Iraq 2003/2004 and fought in the battle of Fallujah (the bloodiest battle of that war) and so much of what Brogan was feeling so reminded me of things my son said to me upon his return when I spoke to him about his look of haunted exhaustion and some of the things he said to me about that deployment. Yes there were times when I ugly cried. Maryann I salute you for the way you brought all the feels to this story.

Another amazing book from an amazing author. This is a great story and I really enjoyed reading it. It is exciting, suspenseful, sweet, hot and so much more. It captured my attention from the beginning and held my rapt interest until the end. The characters have depth and issues that will keep you wondering and turning pages. The plot has action, mystery, intrigue and romance.
Finding Peace is the fourth title in the Baytown Boys series, but not having read the previous three titles I can say that this title can easily be read as a standalone.
Ginny and Brogan’s story is full of romance, intrigue, drama, and suspense. This pair have a past full of pain from their time serving in the military, and this is their story of finding peace and healing.
This pair of characters are endearing, enigmatic, complex, realistic and well developed. Both Ginny and Brogan evolve over the course of this title. Ginny is a former Army MP, now a resident of Baytown, even after two years she still feels like the newcomer to town and an outsider. She’s not all that feminine, and struggles to form relationships due to her past. She’s strong, private, and incredibly resilient. Brogan is a perfect blend of vulnerability and strength. He’s a former Marine, who grew up in Baytown and returned to run his family bar. He is protective, brooding, aloof and sexy.
Maryann Jordan has done a wonderful job of interweaving the sensitive topic of PTSD into the plot of this title quite seamlessly.
Finding Peace is a well written small town romance, with strong themes of family and friendship flowing throughout. I look forward to reading the previous and future titles in this series.
4.5 star review of Finding Peace (Baytown Boys) by Maryann Jordan
Having read other books from Maryann Jordan I was interested to read Finding Peace as I have not read any other books in this series.
This is the story of Brogan MacFarlane, who is a former Marine who works at his family’s bar, trying to escape his terrible memories from the war; Ginny Spencer is former Army Military Police, now a member of Baytown’s police department and she is dealing with her own scars from the past.
I really enjoyed reading this story, the pain and suffering both Brogan and Ginny have been through is enough to break a person. Can they learn to trust each other and move on together?
When a peeping tom escalates to attacking women, Ginny investigates and then finds herself in danger. Can Brogan help keep her safe?
This was a gripping and well written book. Ms. Jordan handled difficult subject matter with compassion and integrity.
I loved the camaraderie and friendships between the men and their women as they all banded together to help Brogan and Ginny heal and move on.
I am now going to go back and read the remaining books in the series.
