New York Times bestselling author Brenda Novak welcomes readers to the town of Silver Springs, where surprises wait around every corner! The search for her birth mother brought Cora Kelly to the New Horizons Boys Ranch. Getting a job there was easy enough, but confiding in Aiyana, the ranch’s owner, that she’s really her daughter? Cora’s not sure she can do that, not unless she’s confident the … confident the news will be welcomed. And once she gets to know Elijah Turner–Aiyana’s adopted son and ranch manager–that decision becomes even more difficult.
Although Elijah can’t deny his deep attraction to Cora, he’s always struggled with trust. Anyone with his past would, and there’s something about the ranch’s newest employee that isn’t exactly as it seems. But if the feelings she awakes in his guarded heart are any indication, she might be just what he’s long been waiting for.

Finding Our Forever is the first book set in Silver Springs and features Cora – she is on a quest for her birth mother and doesn’t expect to find love along the way. I enjoyed this story a lot. It was very easy to get sucked into the story and feel like I wanted to visit Silver Springs.
A bit of mystery and a happily-ever-after.
I read this ebook from the library Overdrive system and am sharing my honest review.
An interesting love story of two people who come together because of one woman. The woman gave up her daughter, but later on became a mother figure to troubled boys.
(3.75-4 stars)
This was my first Brenda Novak book and I can’t wait to read more of her catalog. I enjoyed not only Cora and Eli falling in love but also Cora connecting with her biological mother. The author has a very mature writing style and I felt Cora’s need to know where she came from. On the other side of the coin I also felt the pain and hurt her “parents” felt due to that desire. I’m looking forward to meeting the rest of the Silver Springs residents in future installments.
What a welcome to Silver Springs! I enjoy small town novels, especially ones that have an unexpected romance and happy ever afters. The audiobook had smooth narration and brought joy to the story. An alluring listen for your next vacation!
3.5 bumped to 4. I always know that when I pick up a Brenda Novak book I’ll be in for a good read. Finding Our Forever, book one in the Silver Springs series, was a good read. I don’t I like it better than, or even as much (although it’s close), to her Whiskey Creek series. It is a good introduction to Silver Springs and the characters that inhabit it.
Cora has always felt there were parts of her life that were missing. She wasn’t unhappy with her life. In fact, it was just the opposite. She had loving parents, a big brother she adored, and close friends that she could confide in and who always had her back. The missing part? She’s adopted and there is so much that she doesn’t know. Simple things, like her nationality. There are so many unanswered questions. She doesn’t want to upset her parents so she secretly hires a PI to find her birth mother. Before opening up a can of worms that may not need to be opened she wants to meet her birth mother. She finds the perfect opportunity when a job at New Horizons opens up. She also finds much more than her birth mother.
This is an interesting story about how adoption affects so many people. It’s full of interesting characters, wit, and compassion. It’s low drama, but not drama free. All in all, a good start to a new series.
I won’t retell the story because the author does it SO much better than I can however I will say that it sucked me in right from the start. Getting involved with these “new” characters was so much fun. Cora Kelly was adopted as a newborn. She sets out on a quest to meet her birth mother and that involves taking a new teaching position, in Silver Springs, at the school (and home) of Aiyana Turner, her birth mother. Aiyana has no knowledge that Cora is the baby she gave up so the story revolves around Cora getting to know her birth mother, surreptitiously, of course. Of course, there’s much more to it but read the story yourself. It will suck you in quickly and won’t let you go.
Cora is hired by Aiyana’s adopted son – and the book will give you background and details that will have this all make sense to you – Elijah (Eli) and ultimately this is their story to read. Both Cora and Eli are keeping secrets, both from themselves and each other, and reading about how they take the journey towards each other is very special. I can’t imagine how either of these characters feel but Ms. Novak truly writes an incredible journey for them. I can’t wait to read the next book in this series. I want to know more about the folks in Silver Springs!
The first book in the Silver Springs series. You can never go wrong picking up a Brenda Novak book, and this was no exception. Loved it from the first page. A must read for sure whether its your first book of Brenda’s or not.
Cora was adopted and although she loves her parents and her brother, she wants to meet her birth mother. Cora has found her and decides to apply for a teaching job at the school/ranch that Aiyanna has founded. Cora also discovers that Aiyanna has adopted 8 of the boys that attended the school.
What Cora hadn’t expected was her reaction to the oldest adopted son. He doesn’t think he can love after the horrendous treatment he received at the hands of his natural parents. This book has detailed descriptions of love making. It’s also a more complex story than I’d expected. I enjoyed it and I would recommend it.
Finding Our Forever: Silver Springs Series, Book One was another great read by Brenda Novak. Cora has been looking for her birth mother and it has brought her to New Horizons Boys Ranch. Aiyana is the owner of the ranch as well as the woman who gave Cora up for adoption. Cora gets a job on the ranch but doesn’t tell anyone there who she really is. She gets closer to Elijah, Aiyana’s adopted son, who is the ranch manager as well as the man who hired her. Although they both try to fight the attraction, neither one can deny it. I really enjoyed listening to Cora and Elijah’s story, and can’t wait to read more by Brenda Novak.
This book had all the feels and is a great start to the series. Loved Cora and Eli together. The story flowed so well. My heart felt for every character involved with Cora finding her biological mom. So glad that Eli and Aiyana were not mad at Cora for holding back her revelation. Super HEA. Looking forward to the next in the series. Wonderful job Ms. Novak.
I highly recommend this book.
The story held my interest throughout. It was a short (291 pages) romance book. While the story did deal with some dark issues in the history of the characters, the story was heartwarming and optimistic for the most part. Of course, being a romance, the short did most revolve around the main couple.
I think the author did a great job, since developing a story where you care about the characters and outcome in a limited number of pages is an achievement. I would like to continue to read the rest of this series.
What a great start to a new series. I thoroughly loved this story of Cora trying to locate her birth mother. It’s full of love, new friendships and family. Love can allow a person to trust again as Eli realizes. I laughed and shed a few tears as I read. Brenda Novak did a splendid job in getting you interested from the beginning right through to the end. I had a hard time putting it down. Looking forward to learning more about the people and town of Silver Springs.
Finding Our Forever is a story about a young woman trying to discover her past. After spending a lot of time and effort to find her biological mother, Cora learns that her mother owns a school for troubled boys.
Hoping that she could form a relationship with her mother, Cora accepts a job as an art teacher at the school. She wants to know how and why this wonderful woman gave up her baby daughter.
During the time at Silver Springs, Cora also develops a romantic relationship with Eli. Eli is a manager at the ranch, and he is also one of the sons adopted by Cora’s mother.
As Cora searches for the truth, she has an inner battle with herself. She doesn’t know if she should reveal her true identity, and she also tries not to hurt her loving adoptive parents.
I loved the characters and the plot. It’s a sweet romance without a lot of drama. I just wish the story touched a little bit more on Eli. I can’t wait to read the next books in the series.
I’m a fan of Ms. Novak and had heard about her Silver Springs series. I thought the premise of the book was a good one and enjoyed the book. Cora irritated me at times as well as her ex-boyfriend. She and Eli jumped into a relationship pretty quick, but I was pulling for them as the story progressed. I felt for her adoptive parents as well as her biological mother. I can’t wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
Repost of my original review at Amazon.com.
3.5 Stars. This sweet, quick story about finding your roots (Cora) and true love while over coming a harsh past (Eli) is a great read. Both Cora and Eli find that opening their hearts to love can be the best thing in life.
Top notch for enjoyment!
Great book. Interesting story. Enjoyed it totally.
Cora and Elijah. So sweet. What do you do when you find the mother that gave you away? I may not have responded the way Cora did but this story held my attention. Makes me believe in second chances.
