Finding Love on the Summer Surf is a short story, and part of Stacy Eaton’s Finding Love in Special Places Short Story Series.Cynthia was in desperate need of a few days of peace, and when her good friend, Janet, told her to take off to Ocean City Maryland for the weekend and use their condo, she takes her up on the offer. Now she’s ready for sun, sand, salty water, a few bottles of wine, and a … wine, and a smutty story on her audio player.
The last thing Michael wanted to do was clean out the condo. It had been his wife’s sanctuary, and now that she was gone, it was painful to be there—even five years later. That’s why Michael ends up on the beach, trying to get into a novel, but more interested in people-watching.
When Cynthia gets caught in a rip-tide, Michael comes to the rescue. Suddenly, the weekend they both planned is pulled out to sea as these two get lost in the tumble of the surf.
When the weekend ends, will fate bring these two back together, or will their weekend of memories drift away with the ocean waves?

This short story packed a lot of meat in between the pages that kept me totally invested in the well written storyline and the journey that unfolded between Cynthia and Michael! I was so engrossed in this story that I read this book in one sitting!
A second-time-around story between two mature adults who have previously been married, this enjoyable novella brought out the transitory nature of a holiday romance, whilst at the same time bringing into focus the intensity of a sizzling attraction crammed into a few days. When Michael rescues Cynthia from a rip current, it forces them into close proximity, and whilst uncomfortable, they are both mature enough to accept the situation for what it is. However, the ensuing romance is exactly what both of them need after a long dry spell. Deciding to keep things simple and not to share surnames or backgrounds, they leave matters up to Fate to decide, and she is very, very kind to them! I thoroughly enjoyed this feel-good novella, which is a standalone and comes to a happy conclusion. I received a copy of this well-written romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
Another great little story, really so sweet. (reminder these are short stories). I love the characters and this is suh a great “meet cute”. I really would have been fine with these being longer stories because I enjoyed them so much. The characters have good depth and back story. The story is fast-paced but that’s to be expected. I adore the subtle little reminders that each character gets. I also love the premise of the story and the way it leads you in the end. Super fun fast read. Really adorable!
This was a beautiful story. Cynthia is having her first break for three years while her son is with her ex-husband. Michael is going to get his condo ready for sale after the death of his wife five years ago. A swim. Danger. Drowning. A rescue. This was fabulous and I loved it.
This is another short read or novella by author Stacy Eaton this one is based in the summer time. It is a quick read and one that I really enjoyed. It is one I read in bed in one sitting. Michael goes to the shore to empty out the pace there where you might say the ghosts of his life of his wife still resides. Sad but true in true life after passing. Cynthia is there to escape life itself and gets caught up by the elements. Fate once again stepping in when she needs to. This book is a wonderful read anytime of the year but right now when we all have so much time on our hands,Perfect.
Ah! I loved this story right from the first page. Cynthia needs a break and finally takes her friend up on her offer to use her condo near the beach. I don’t know about you, but if I’m near the beach I’m just like Cynthia and need to be out there enjoying it. And naturally she needs to get in the water. Thankfully Michael was on the beach and took notice of an attractive woman, Cynthia, getting ready to go in the water. He sees the red warning flags but the woman keeps going and the next thing he’s running in after her and saving her life.
Their first meeting was intense as Michael saved her life. Their attraction came on just as intense. They agree to enjoy the few days Cynthia is there together and have an amazing time together and possibly have a great connection to something more. Real life intrudes and it’s time for Cynthia to go home. Can fate have them meet up again or was their time together destined to be just what they had together at the beach and nothing more? I totally believe in fate and loved this book!
Cynthia’s taking a much need weekend away alone at the beach before starting a new job. And after five years, Michael is finally going to clean up and sell his deceased wife’s beach condo. However, both of their plans turn out much differently than they expected after Michael rescues Cynthia from nearly drowning. After the rescue turns into a hot, steamy romantic weekend together, they leave it up to fate to decide if their weekend should become more then just a weekend fling! Great short story read for romance lovers!
This is a perfect summer pool side read. Although this is a short story it packs a punch. I love how an unexpected summer meeting turn fling leads to a HEA. You will not be disappointed.
A great short story about two people who agree to a weekend together, one is divorced the other a widower. It was fate that brought them together and they agree that if fate brings them together again they will give a relationship a chance.
Stacy Eaton has written a sweet romance book that could be anyone’s dream. Imagine being divorced for 3 years, take a few days off before starting a new job, get caught in a riptide in the ocean only to be saved by a hunk of a guy and have a few days of nothing but love, fun and a lot of sex. Cynthia thinks it’s faith that they met and it should be nothing more and just keep the happy memories. But faith didn’t just come that week-end it came again and this time maybe they should be together. That’s what happened in this short read. The character’s are great and the story well written, The perfect little story to put you in the summer mood and dream of a week-end with a hunk. I look forward to other books in the series for my time of happiness and escape from COVID-19. Thank God I love to read and I’ve been a huge fan of Stacy Eaton for years.
If you are looking for a fast paced, story about a summer romance that will grabs your attention from the first page to the last, this is the one for you.
Cynthia and Michael meet at the beach when he rescues her from a rip current. Both are at the beach to get away from “real life”. One with the plans of selling his condo, the other one , needing time to recharge before starting a new job. Neither thinking that a summer fling would touch their hearts.
Will they each go their separate ways and that time together be only a sweet memory, or will fate interfere and they end up having their HEA?
I not only loved the plot, but was thrilled to read a story about a more mature couple.
I was entrusted a copy of this book. The opinions expressed are solely my own.

What a sweet quick story. Cynthia, a divorcee, gets pulled into a rip current and Michael, a widower, saves her.
Fate has brought these two together. They share a wonderful weekend, but don’t want to ruin it. Each got sometthey needed from the encounter.
Fate brings them back together in a way neither saw coming.
Michael prevented Cynthia from drowning and they shared a wonderful weekend together. Can fate bring them together again and have a second chance at love?
I liked this quick romantic story. I thought it was easy to feel for and connect with both Cynthia and Michael. For such a little read this book packs a powerful punch. It’s an intense, emotional and sweet story that has a bit of angst and poignancy to balance everything out. This is my freely posted frank review.
Finding Love on the Summer Surf by Stacy Eaton is the second book in the Finding Love in Special Places series. It is a fun easy read that you definitely don’t want to miss if you love second chance romances.
