Reader Review:
This is not your typical romance novel. It has two love interests – Andrew and Nathaniel – a mystery, and a WOW! I didn’t see that coming, at the end.
Poor Margaret having to chose between Andrew and Nathaniel. I was almost to the end of the book before I could decide between the two men. I kept switching back and forth. I did finally decide on the same person as Margaret.
As far as the mystery goes, I figured out who the killer was – at least I thought I did – about a paragraph before they were revealed. That takes pretty good writing skills in my opinion.

Please note: A contemporary version of this story is now a Hallmark movie “Finding Love in Mountain View”. This book is a Christian historical novel.
This book will appeal to many readers of Christian fiction in several different ways: clean romance; mystery; a touch of adventure; and accurate historical detail that makes the story come alive. There are several different storylines that weave throughout this book and the author does a fine job of bringing them together at just the right moments.
The main character in this book is Margaret, a sweet young schoolteacher who has suffered much loss in her life through the death of her parents and a broken engagement. Unexpected romance, as well as two orphaned runaway children, enter her life and Margaret finds strength in her faith and turning to God for guidance in a way she’s never done before. I will admit that the ending to this book surprised me in a good way. I had an idea of how I thought the storyline would play out at the end, but there were a couple of surprises at the end of the book. I have to admit that one of these seemed just a little too good to be true, and a little bit beyond belief. Still it added a heart-tugging sweetness to the ending that I loved, so I’m ok with this.
All in all, this is a great story and I’m happy to recommend it to you.
I received a copy of this book from the publisher. All opinions are my own.
Bridal Veil, Oregon in 1898, is a lumber community of caring and hard-working people. I enjoyed the main characters very much, especially Margaret who was struggling with the loss of her father and first love.
The story is about God’s role in your life and how he knows best. Margaret’s life takes a strange turn of events when her first love returns home after many years. Lots of suspense, drama and a time of forgiveness make this story a wonderful and uplifting, emotional read which I highly recommend.
I received a complimentary copy from the author and voluntarily choose to review it.

I felt like I was right there in Bridal Veil, Oregon and right there in the middle of the story. I recommend this book for anyone who likes stories that have adventure, love, trust and faith in God.
What I think you should know:
Finding Love in Bridal Veil Oregon is a Historical Christian Romance by Miralee Ferrell. It is set in a small Oregon mill town in 1902.
What you might need to know:
Margaret has just lost her father.
Samantha and Joel are orphans.
Joel has the mental capacity of a young child.
What I think about this book:
With lost love, murder, runaways and misunderstandings Ferrell has written an intriguing story. This story definitely had characters that I like and characters that I really disliked. Margaret was an interesting character, I loved her interactions with Sam and Joel, they really made the story more enjoyable. Andrew was such a sweet guy and I hated to see how Nathaniel coming back to town changed his life. I appreciated the details that the author included about the workings of a mill town and how it helped bring the story to life for me. This was my first time reading a book by this author, but it will definitely not be the last time!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from Celebrate Lit, this in no way influenced my review. All opinions are my own.
Margaret Garvey thought she fell in love with Nathaniel Cooper when she was young, but he disappeared from her life. She taught and attempted to make a life for herself. After her father dies, she realized she might have feelings for her friend Andrew. When Nathaniel Cooper returns, she wonders if they might have a second chance to get it right.
This book illustrates how the love we pine for may not be the right one for us. Also, parents sometimes know more than their children believe they know. The addition of two runaway children adds dimension to the story. A murder and a natural disaster also add to this historical romance. I loved the ending of this book. If you enjoy historical clean romances, check out this book for yourself.

Will she make the right choice in the end?
It’s been a long time since I’ve read one of Miralee Ferrell’s novels but Finding Love In Bridal Veil, Oregon looked interesting and I was in the mood for a straightforward historical romance. Like Bridal Veil, Oregon, my own hometown was founded on logging, mining too, so that made it even more intriguing to me.
I went into Finding Love In Bridal Veil, Oregon assuming I knew roughly how the story would play out. In some ways, it did, but, Miralee Ferrell also threw in some real surprises for me. The real highlight for me was all of the historical details that she wove into the story. Though not overdone, the turn of the century logging terms and practices were both familiar and particularly interesting.
I’ll be the first to admit that love triangles are really not my cup of tea but Miralee Ferrell took it, and her characters, in an unexpected direction that made all the difference. I even found myself gradually changing my mind about certain characters. Of course, along the way I did wind up with some favorite characters, well two to be exact. Young Sammie who listens to the still small voice of God, and old mule teamster Julius who is surprising well of wisdom.
Finding Love In Bridal Veil, Oregon is nice easy read. It’s definitely a historical romance but there is also some danger and suspense to liven things up. The author’s note at the end is really worth reading so make sure to not miss it. If you are into the genre you should check this one out….

The story is a wonderful journey as Margaret settles into a small town as the teacher. Her heart was broken at one time, but she is trying to move forward and allow her heart to heal. I liked the backdrop of the quaint town and the historic time period of 1898. Margaret is kind hearted and still grieves the loss of her parents.
When two orphaned children show up on Margaret’s doorstep, her first reaction is shock but then her compassion welcomes them in. I enjoyed getting to know Sammie and Joel and how protective Sammie is of her brother. The story is filled with mystery as a man from the town is found dead. Suspicion is abound as several subjects are questioned. It was no surprise to me that the children would be on the list of possible suspects. After all, no one knows anything about them.
There is excitement in the town when an out of control fire threatens them. Men rush to do what they can but it is in God’s hands as the flames grow closer. I liked how the author illustrates how trusting God is important. Margaret has struggled with that for so long, but now she knows she needs to put her worries aside and let God take her doubts away.
The best part for me was reading about the relationship between Margaret and Andrew grow as they became protective of Sammie and Joel. The children are in danger but the town is there to make sure the right person has custody of them. The faith element is woven very nicely throughout the story and shows how faith and trust are important for each of us to have. I enjoyed the author’s notes at the end of the book. It gives readers an inside look at the history of Bridal Veil and the logging company.
I received a copy of this book from Celebrate Lit. The review is my own opinion.
