Praise for Finding Love:
“This second visit to the quaint community of Maple Run is even better than the first! Mouthwatering food, a swoon-inducing hero (complete with dimples and military uniform), adorable children, and a compelling heroine (complete with a great family and a yummy restaurant) – just one of those elements would be reason enough to love Finding Love. All of them together, plus a tender story of second chances and trusting God? Yes please!”
~ Carrie Schmidt, Reading Is My SuperPower
“Toni Shiloh’s Finding Love is a sweet tale of overcoming fears to find not just love, but trust in the Lord. She weaves a powerful tale amid some beautiful romance and a few giggles, bringing a satisfied, swoony-sigh at its conclusion. I already want to revisit Maple Run to catch up with its sweet residents!”
~ Mikal Dawn, author of Count Me In
“Ms. Shiloh has put together a compelling and heartwarming story that will make you smile One minute and hold your breath the next. Her attention to military details opens a window for the reader to take a glimpse into the private life of our service members. She sheds light on the struggles as well as the fears of their families here at home. My hats off and deepest gratitude to all who serve and prayers for those who make that sacrifice.”

Ever since I read Risking Love by Toni Shiloh, I have been hooked. Finding Love is the second book in Toni Shiloh’s Maple Lane series. And it was just as good as the other books. Finding Love is about Delaney, Dwight’s twin sister and Luke, an Army soldier who knew her husband. Delaney Jones is just trying to pick up the pieces of her life after the death of her husband, but then in walks Luke Robinson. Luke Robinson can’t get over his guilt for his part in the death of Delaney’s husband. However, he never counted on falling in love. Will Luke and Delaney be able to work through their differences? Or will life deal them a heavy blow?
Delaney was a strong woman and I thought that she was so cool as she raised her two kids. She worked so hard to give her sons, Preston and Philip, a good childhood. I loved her relationship with my family, it was so sweet to read about them. I felt for Delaney as she tried to raise her boys and learn to trust Luke. She didn’t want a repeat of her late husband, but she was falling hard. I loved reading about her with Luke, they were so cute together.
Luke was such a nice guy. I really liked him, he was so kind but he had his own demons to deal with. Luke was trying to figure out how to deal with the guilt he feels for the death of Delaney’s husband, he came to make amends but he ended up falling in love. I liked reading about Luke’s growth as he learned to let go of his guilt and trust God to lead him.
Luke and Delaney had to figure out how to make a relationship work while dealing with the baggage of the past. Delaney will have to decide if she is willing to give her heart to Luke, knowing that if he stays in the Army there is a chance he won’t return. Luke will have to decide what is more important to him, financial stability or Delaney and her boys. Delaney and Luke were sweet and I adored reading about their relationship.
It was so fun to see Dwight and Nina again. I always enjoy the family relationships that Ms. Shiloh puts into her books. Finding Love was super cute and quick, I read it in one day. I would definitely recommend Finding Love and I can’t wait to read the next book!
I really enjoyed this book. I found Delaney to be authentic and I warmed to her much more quickly than many heroines.
Luke is a man for any woman to swoon over. I love the family dynamic and the problems that kept lining up to keep these two apart. Despite reading dozens of romance novels, I didn’t see the last two twists.
Excited to go back to the Maple Pit again.
Finding Love takes us back to the town of Maple Run in the second installment in the series. This book can be read as a stand alone novel, even if you haven’t read the first book in the series yet. First of all, I have to say that I love the cover of this book! The cover model for Delaney is gorgeous, and both characters are pictured exactly as I imagined them. Widowed mother of twin boys Delaney is still recovering from the loss of her husband Parker, who was killed serving his country. Luke Robinson, who served alongside Parker in the Army, feels responsible for his death and goes to make amends with Parker’s widow. Toni Shiloh creates a wonderful novel filled with forgiveness and love while weaving in the faith aspects of the storyline in a meaningful way. I can’t wait to read book #3 in the series.
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author/publisher and was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine.
“Don’t focus on the negative. When we do, we miss out on all the good God has for us.”
Very good book truly enjoyed it
I don’t believe I have ever read a more interesting story of a mixed relationship. I love the way this couple picked up their lives and made the ‘best of it’ after such a sad beginning.
Loved the characters, strong people, great interaction. Plot was original, and well written
I liked this book.
A story of love, forgiveness and hope. Guilt can cause trouble and despair in life. Can the past be forgiven? The author tells a story that touches the heart and gives the reader promise for the future. I was given a copy of this story by the author and this is my personal honest opinion.
I enjoyed this book. It was not too heavy, and it was absent of hate!
A clean fun book
I loved the story. Life leaves us in pain sometimes. It takes a lot of faith and trust in our Sovereign God to move us past our hurts and disappointments. His plans for us are for our good and His glory. This was a sweet story of a widow letting go of her fears and allowing love to have a chance.
wonderful, easy read
This was a great book. It was not one of those with a lot of angst that drives me crazy. There was thinking and praying. Love wins Everytime . Excellent read.
I enjoyed the story line. Well written.
This is the 2nd book in the Maple Run Series. Another great book by this wonderful author, Toni Shiloh! The way Toni writes just always draws me closer to her characters and makes me want to keep reading and reading till I finally finish the book!
Toni is a Christian herself and you can tell by the way she writes her stories and she’s not ashamed! God is the center of each story, yes the characters have issues but with God in these stories all have a wonderful message in them.
Read her books and you will see for yourself!
Delaney the special lady in this book met Luke (a wonderful man with a loving heart any woman would fall in love with in my opinion) after losing her husband in the service. Delaney is scared to love another military man so this book is about the continued faith Delaney had to acquire to love Luke.) She has an amazing family of faith & support. I fell in love with the family & with Luke. She also has wonderful sons any mother would be proud to have. I enjoyed this story & the lesson of continued faith. Also Luke has an amazing Grandma & father who support him.
First, let me say that although this is Book 2 in the Maple Run series, I haven’t read Book 1 but was able to understand what was going on just fine. What it did was make me curious about Book 1.
Yes, this is a contemporary romance story but it’s more than that. This is a sweet story about finding love, overcoming fear, forgiving one’s self, and growing in God. With solid characters that are vulnerable, real, and sometimes funny, Author Toni Shiloh isn’t afraid to take on a relationship that is inter-racial, and she does it with style.
Because Luke is military, as is Delaney, Shiloh gives us insight into military life and went deep into the fears that can go with it. I truly appreciated seeing this side of life. I’m not from a military family so I learned some things along the way.
I highly recommend Finding Love and I hope it makes you hungry for maple, too!
I received a complimentary copy of this book but was not required to leave a review.
I loved this return visit to Maple Run! I liked seeing Delaney reach the point where she was able to open her heart again after losing her husband in the war. I liked that Luke was able to move on from his survivor’s guilt. Though it took a bit of flirting, wooing, overcoming fears, frustration, forgiveness, and lots of praying, Luke and Delaney make a great couple. (I don’t think that’s a spoiler) They have a really great first date too!
I agree with another reviewer, you should eat before you read this book. I didn’t. All I could think of was wanting to try Maple Bacon Cheesecake.
There are lots of other yummy treats in this book too.
I hope the author takes us back to Maple Run again soon. There are other characters that I would love to see in their own story.
Highly recommended!
