Two fractured hearts and a forbidden love they can’t deny. You shouldn’t want what you can’t have… wealthy uncle, his fashion-empire-owning wife, and their seven screwed-up sons is quickly turning into a nightmare—especially when certain inappropriate feelings arise.
Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he’s her cousin.
He’s off limits.
And he’s not exactly welcoming—Kyler is ignorant, moody, and downright cruel at times—but Faye sees behind the mask he wears, recognizing a kindred spirit.
Kyler has sworn off girls, yet Faye gets under his skin. The more he pushes her away, the more he’s drawn to her, but acting on those feelings risks a crap-ton of prejudice, and any whiff of scandal could damage the precious Kennedy brand.
Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice.
But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing.
“Being a fan of the Royals series and the Fallen Crest series this book had everything I love – drama, mystery, betrayal, love, friendship, and the bond of family.” ★★★★★ Emma. Goodreads Reviewer.

Faye Donovan lost her parents in a car accident. The next thing she knows, she has an uncle she never heard of and has never met, and he will be moving her from Ireland to live with his wealthy family in the US. She wasn’t fully prepared for the fact the fact that her uncle’s wife is the extremely wealthy owner of a popular fashion brand, and that she will be moving into a home with seven male cousins that are all absolutely gorgeous. She quickly learns that the Kennedy family could be the very definition of a “dysfunctional family”, and that as good looking as her new cousins may be, t hey are screwed up in one way or another. Kyler Kennedy is sometimes rude, mean and makes it clear that Faye is not welcome, but Faye senses a kindred spirit, and makes a point of trying to get to know him better. Faye and Kyler eventually get very close, but before long their happiness will turn to ashes.
Wow, these are all unique and definitely fascinating characters, that will draw you in, and won’t let go even after you have finished this book. There is a lot of what I would consider extreme bullying, what is probably typical teenage angst, and drama. Top it all with some lies, secrets, and an unexpected twist, this book is a must read which I had a hard time putting down. Fantastic, I loved it!
I am voluntarily leaving an honest and non-incentivized review of this ARC.
I was thrilled when I saw that Siobhan was allowing her readers to catch up on the Kennedy boys series. I was intrigued by the brothers when I was reading Forgiving Keven and when they made an appearance in The Rydeville Elite series. So, I jumped on it, and I am glad that I did. The relationships that made zero sense to me in Forgiving Keven were introduced and somewhat explained.
Finding Kyler had a fast-moving plotline. From the minute, Faye realized that she had American relatives, it zipped along. The flow of the book was fantastic also.
I want to mention, because the author had a foreword about it, that there is a lot of Irish slang in the book, which I expected because the author is from Ireland herself. What I didn’t expect (and what I loved) was that she thoughtfully included a glossary at the end of the book. I was familiar with most of the slang in the book, but I was still taken by surprise by some of the things Faye said.
There was a small bit of ick factor when it came to Faye and Kyler’s relationship with them being 1st cousins. The author chose to play that up instead of letting it slide. Faye was continually reminding herself that her attraction to Kyler was wrong. When people found out about them, their reactions went from happy to disgusted to unhappy. But, putting the ick factor aside, I did enjoy their love story.
Faye walked into a mess when she arrived at the Kennedy household. Let’s say that the Kennedy’s put the fun in dysfunctional. I did feel a little bad for her because she was treated like crap. Kaden, Keven, Keanu, and Kent chose to ignore her. Kalvin kept hitting on her. Kyler ignored her, but at the same time, couldn’t stop watching her. The only decent person in the house was Keaton. Alex seemed nice, but she was never around. James, well, he had issues. Many, many issues. That made for a toxic environment.
Like I mentioned above, there was an ick factor with Kyler and Faye relationship. But, as I also said, I didn’t let that color their romance. In a way, it was sweet. Faye tried so hard not to fall for him. She did everything in her power to stop her feelings. She even went as far as to enroll in another school to stay away from him. It still happened, and it was delicious to read.
The end of Finding Kyler was a big drama fest. There was a huge twist that was revealed that I didn’t see coming. It is not often when a book shocks me, and this book did. With that twist came the cliffhanger, which I didn’t like. But, at the same time, it made me need to read the next book.
This is not my first Siobhan Davis books and once again she met all my expectations.
Finding Kyler was a great romance book filled with drama that keep you gasping at every turn. Once again Siobhan fantastic writing style takes you right in the story with the characters.
I mean the relationship between Faye and Kyler is taboo and yet it doesn’t feel that way at all and you forget it as you’re swept away in their own turmoil of emotion.
I loved Faye, she is a strong character who’ve been through the worst and is still standing. Kyler – Oh my words Kyler – He is so hot and broody and …everything that makes perfect book boyfriends. Their chemistry is scorching and should come with the warning – you might end up burned
Now with respect to the side characters I have to give a giant kudo to Siobhan because let me tell you what she did there is a proof her huge talent. As we know it happens more often than not that side characters turn out to be uni-dimentional and interesting even if they are only a few. Siobhan introduced so many side characters (I mean Kyler has 6 brothers!) and yet none of them feel flat, they all pop around showing they are never forgotten and belong to the story – That was quite impressive.
Now the story as usual it flows very nicely and so many things happened taking me by surprised.
I ended up gasping a few times and I have to admit the cliffhanger at the end killed me!! I need Losing Kyler right now!
Stars 5/5
I have been wanting to try this author for a while but, life got in the way and I never had the chance. Can’t believe I actually got a chance and boy, was this book good. So page turning good, I only got a few hours of sleep before having to go to work. Looking forward to the next one.
WOW!
OMGEEE!!!
I HAVE NO WORDS!!
One question…Does Siobhan Davis have the ability to keep me on my toes with constant mind-blowing revelations that’ll make your head spin and rethink what you just read?
YESSS!!!! YES SHE DOES!!! HECK YES SHE DOES!!!!
I felt like a monkey trying to do a math problem for a bit there. I knew it was coming but HOLY SMOKES woman! That was beyond what my mind could even imagine.
This was not my first book by this author so I’ve come to somewhat know what to expect…yet I’ve also learned to expect the unexpected with her. She never ceases to blow my mind.
The characters in this story, although it took a bit to remember who was who…due to all the K names but I loved it! I loved the flaw in her characters and how they all seem to be a bit broken…no one perfect. Even when they seemed perfect, there’s something lurking there beneath the surface. Although I had some type of clue into the H and the h in this story and their connection, Siobhan still managed to make my jaw hit the floor. I can’t wait to see what’s next with the Kennedy brothers but especially Kyler! I plan to binge this entire series until there isn’t anymore to binge.
Yowza….this book was chock full of drama drama drama from start to finish. Drama between siblings, drama between friends, drama between boyfriends/girlfriends and drama between parents and between parents and kids…ALL the drama.
It definitely kept me invested and turning the page. I had no idea where the story was going to take me or what was going to happen with this cast of characters.
There is definitely a taboo relationship and cheating in the book, but I tend to read to escape reality, so these things didn’t bother me. It’s a book, a fictional book, telling a story, and I found it intriguing to say the least. It does end with a huge OMG cliffhanger moment, so hang on for a crazy ride. I can’t wait to dive into the next book.
I loved Faye and Ky’s story! I literally gonna jump into book 2 after this review. I love how Siobahn wrote this story. Many find cousins being in love very taboo and wrong. The heart loves who the heart loves! Faye is strong and independent. I loved her attitude throughout she is a very likeable character. Ky took me a min to like since he came off as king jerk but I ended up loving him. I love all the Kennedy boys and can’t wait to catch up on series. I don’t know why it has taken me so long to read Finding Kyler as I’m a huge fan of alot of Siobahns other books but so glad I finally did. She was not scared to dive into what Faye and Ky feel for each other a lot of authors shy away from this subject but Siobahn dominated it. I am in total mouth hanging wide open wth was that moment after reading the last chapter. I must admit I knew there was more James was keeping to himself but that was a bombshell. This family is all the drama you need. Can’t wait to read what happens next in Losing Kyler!
This is a book that has not only captivated me but also intrigued me to a point of contemplating the subject matter incessantly. Forbidden love, angst, love/hate, dysfunction, push-pull, bullying, deceit, human failings – all those dark elements kept me riveted to the point of not wanting to stop reading!
The connection between Faye and Kyler is immediate and intense and the attraction they feel toward each other also lured me in to a point that I felt what was going on between them despite the circumstances and appropriateness. So many emotions and introspection.
Siobhan Davis intricately weaves her characters, their relationships and interactions, development, plot and content to a point where you don’t know what will happen next. This is clearly demonstrated in the shocker of a cliffhanger ending that has me diving right in to Losing Kyler!, (The Kennedy Boys #2)

My Review:
I really couldn’t decide how to start this review. This review has been one of the hardest I have done. I am gonna start off by saying, I’m a Christian, so of course I’m very picky about content. However I do overlook or flip over some content. That is mainly way I’m not a huge fan of this book, there’s a lot of content that I struggled to overlook. It’s just personally not my cup of tea.
Many people on Goodreads and bookstagram have talked about how good Siobhans books are, so one day when I stumbled across her I signed up for her newsletter. The author herself is super nice. She sent me a copy of this book through her first newsletter for free. I immediately read it right after. First off I did notice some holes in the story and it was more telling and not enough showing. But to me, that’s not really a huge problem, I’m looking at the over all story.
The book started off a little rocky. Faye loses her parents to a drunk driver and later finds out about her uncle James and his seven sons. She’s not really excited about it either. The night before he comes to pick her up, she gets herself drunk, dyes her hair bright red, and sleeps with her ex-boyfriend (no sex). She then wakes up that morning to her uncle standing at the foot of the bed.
Later on we meet the not-so-innocent cousins. Things get pretty crazy from there. I went into this book blind, so I did not know it was going to be a romance between two first cousins. There’s nothing that I know of in the Bible that says this is wrong but it still made me feel a very uncomfortable. Through part of the book I found myself pretending they weren’t related.
A small triangle started to form between Kyler, Brad and Faye. It didn’t last long but I found myself wanting her to end up with Brad. I don’t say just because they are cousins either, it’s mainly because through parts of the books, I did not like Kyler. He was a jerk to Faye until almost the end.
Closer and closer to the end of the book I knew it wasn’t all going to be resolved until the later books. But then the ending happened which changed my thoughts on the whole book completely. About 80% or so in the book we find out Kyler and Faye are half-brother and sister and that James had Faye with his sister. Yeah. That did me in. I really wasn’t able to read anymore past that, however I took a look in the back at the first chapter of the next book and James admits he hasn’t actually gotten a DNA test done to be sure he is her father. I probably won’t be reading the next book unless I’m shown it’s different then the first one.
Again, this review has been one of the hardest to write. I’m not trying to offend the author or readers who did enjoy this book. I’m simply being honest about how I felt while reading this book. Simple as that. It’s not my usual read and that’s okay. But honestly, looking past all the content and the fact their related, the story line is good. It reminded me of My Life With The Walter books, just with more content.
This book is listed for Teens and Young Adult but I would only recommend to New Adults or Adults.
__________
Content:
***Note: I do not have a full list of every piece of content from this book, but listed below are big parts to keep in mind. Note also that I flipped passed some of the content below so I cannot go into how detailed it was.***
Lots of touching including in inappropriate ways, a couple bedroom scenes, a sex scene from between characters, inappropriate/lustful thoughts from main characters, a couple school fights between girls including our main character also includes injuries, also contains bullying and aggressive characters, a cheating husband/father, a character that is suspected to have rapped another character however we do not find out if this is true in this book. Lots of cussing, include bitch, F-bombs, dick, and others. Great numbers of sexual references and mentions.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of that I received free in a newsletter from the author herself.
Loving everything that Siobhan Davis has written I was a little skeptical starting this book. Knowing right off the bad that Faye and Kyler are cousins made me slightly uncomfortable. Knowing Siobhan’s writing I knew there had to be turns and twists along the way.
This book introduces us, and Faye to a family she never knew she had. After the tragic death of her parents she is sent to live with her Uncle, his wife, and her seven cousins who happen to be all male and hot. She went from an only child to the only female of eight children in 24 hours. We witness Faye navigate a crazy ex (Kyler’s), a new school, new home, new stand in parents, and an attraction to a cousin that is explosive. Through it all she does it maturely, and will not stand down when her convictions are tested. She balances Kyler in a way that allows him to start to learn what it means to be vulnerable.
Siobhan got me hook, line, and sinker. I know need to know what happens next.
Some sections of the story bored me, and some held my attention. I enjoyed the forbidden elements but the lackluster of romance ruined the story for me.
Holy smokes what am I reading! Faye and Kyler’s 4.5 stars story had my head spinning with so much angst between them but the need to hold off because of their connection. This book was recommended to me by a dear book friend of mine and I am so glad that I finally started reading it.
There were many jaw dropping moments with a lost for words and just when things were picking up we are left with a cliffhanger that had me yelling expletives and shaking. The reveals of the each of the characters had you questioning everything and wondering WTF? To throw into the mix the beauty of the family and their status in the community.
Afraid to find out what will happen next but itching for more. This was a interesting and mind blowing start into the lives of the Kennedy family. This first book left me speechless, ranting, and venting thoughts that were flowing through my mind. Needless to say after that cliffy I had to take a breather but needed answers stat!
I loved the book. It took me a little while to get into the book but it was because I had alot going on. once I got into the story I couldn’t put it down. I am so excited to read the rest of the series. I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
5 Tantalizing Stars
Let me preface this review by stating if you do not like taboo reads then do not read this. For those like me, who have no boundaries, run out and grab this book ASAP you will not be disappointed. Siobhan has created a lusciously sexy slow burn romance that will leave you breathless. Kyler and Sam are utter taboo perfection, they are sexual tension wrapped in angst surrounded by family drama/secrets. This is book 1 in the Kennedy Series, this series will follow all the brother’s in the family.
“Two fractured hearts and a forbidden love they can’t deny. You shouldn’t want what you can’t have.”
The story starts out in Ireland with Sam, tragically her parents perish in a car accident leaving her alone. Her uncle from the US is contacted to be her guardian and he comes and brings her home to America. Sam is then thrust into a lavish lifestyle she is not used to and 7 deliciously handsome cousin’s that she never knew about. In comes Kyler, he is a fantastically broody Alpha male who exudes confidence and wears is sex appeal like a second skin. Their connection is immediate even though they both try and deny it. Their interactions are pure fire, they have serious melt your Kindle chemistry that they cannot deny or look away from. Every time they have any sort of contact you can feel the heat coming off the pages.
“His body exudes warmth like a weapon. It crashes into me, almost knocking me off my feet.”
Sam is a spectacular character. She’s gone through so many things in her life, but each event has made her stronger. She is stunning but doesn’t realize the effect she has on those around her. She tries her best to steer clear of Kyler and his whiplash inducing mood swings, but it’s futile, they are meant to be. They help each other heal from the different tragedies that have fallen them. You get to watch as their flame burns brighter and stronger as the story progresses. You see the purity in the love they have for each other. And as situations occur and obstacles are thrown at them you can see the bond between them strengthen.
“I’m crazy about you, Faye. You consume my every waking thought. My unconscious ones, too. You have stolen a piece of my heart, and I like feeling you there.”
I devoured this book in one sitting, I read all through the night to see how it would end. As it turns out, it ends in the mother of all angsty cliffhangers that left me frantically turning the pages making sure I didn’t miss anything. Just kidding I didn’t read this in paperback form but the speed with which I swiped my Kindle was impressive. Everything about this story spoke to me. I loved all the character’s and the story line had me completely enthralled. This book is filled to the brim with family drama that would put any soap opera to shame. You physically will not be able to put this down until you’re done. Be prepared for an inferno invoking slow burn romance that will leave you on the edge of your seat wanting more.
Five perfect & amazing stars for Faye and Kyler !!!
When I got this book, I really didn’t know what to expect. Because I didn’t even read the blurb when I signed up for review.
All I knew was that this was dark bully high school romance trope with which I’ve got obsessed this year and it was written by Siobhan Davis.
And this was the reason why I was so shocked when I found out this book is about the forbidden love between two cousins.
I read a pretty number of books and they all were different tropes.
So, I decided to give a chance “Finding Kyler” and read it.
I can’t describe to you how much I loved this book. It was the book which kept me awake all night because I couldn’t stop reading how good it was.
Once I’ve got to know Faye and Kyler, no matter that they are family connected, I just wanted for them to be together.
Their connection in the book was like the one you call – true love.
They hate each other, they love each other but they would do anything to protect each other without asking for its cost.
It’s typical enemies to lovers trope but there is always more – like the perfect family who keeps I lot of secrets and the boys who always get out of the trouble because of rich parents.
Siobhan wouldn’t be Siobhan that she wasn’t put cliffhanger at the end of the book and this one made me start the next book in series “Losing Kyler” in the middle of the night (it was around 3 a.m.).
Yes, I was so tired but I wanted to know the answers!
But, like a said in one another review that she is the queen for writing a great cliffhanger and I really love them.
I highly recommended this book to everyone who loves reading dark bully high school romance, forbidden love and enemies to lovers tropes.
I voluntarily reviewed an advance complimentary copy of this book.
Omg this book was completely addictive. I’m a huge fan of Ms Davis and I’m glad I finally dived into this. Teen drama and angst, so perfect.
5 OMG STARS!! Wow, I am still shaking my head….wow….wow….wow!! I was captivated by this book. Kyler and Faye’s story will keep you turning pages for sure. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Holy what?!!!!
What genre is this?
Suspense? Contemporary? Or just plain drama?
Whatever it is…I love it.
It never fails. Never. I am left speechless or deliriously happy at the end of Siobhans books.
Im not going to tell you much more except that Kyler and Faye will keep you on the edge of your seat every step of the way.
Happy reading!
Rating 5 stars
Forbidden love/ unconventional love is one of my favourite tropes to read about. This book fits really well in this category. So naturally I had to read it.
Finding Kyler intrigued me from start to finish. Faye’s american family ” the Kennedy’s” are quite messed up, to put it lightly. And I enjoyed every bit of it. I hope to learn more about them in the next couple of books.
Although I enjoyed this fucked up rollercoaster ride, I can’t give this book a better rating. There are some particular scenes in this book that I didn’t like at all. Without them my rating would be higher.
I’ll definitely want to read the next book in the series. Not that I have much choice with this cliffhanger. I just need to know what happens next.
When I started reading this book I kind of had mixed feelings. To be honest, I found it, or at least some parts of the book, unrealistic and a bit awkwardly melodramatic. Still, as I kept reading I suddenly found myself almost not being able to put the book away. Just to stop reading to go to work or to bed was a challenge. I can only say, job well done Davis!
I don’t know for sure since this is only the second book I’ve read from Siobhan Davis, but I’m sensing a pattern here (a really freaking good pattern) where my nose is basically glued to the pages. Davis is a pro at pulling the emotional strings of her readers. I could feel it in every page and every suspenseful moment and dramatic scene felt personal like it actually happened to me. She made me love the protagonists like my own family and truly hate the antagonists like I never hated anyone in real life. I do not know how she does it, but she does it pretty much perfectly and that is what makes this author an excellent writer.
As good as this book was it was also kind of unrealistically messy. I felt that the Kennedy brothers and Faye’s personalities was a bit too much in every direction. The player was coming across as to much of a pervert. The thrill seeker only sought one thrill through the entire story, the joker was never much of a comedian. He just came across as friendly and relaxed. And the worst one was Faye. She was supposed to be very honest, friendly and confident, yet also distant and emotional confused after her parents passing. Sure, she was all those things, but it was not balanced very well. Her confident streak sometimes made her seem more rude and self involved than self-assured. The honesty trait was at times annoying because she involved herself in others peoples private business. Even her emotions over her parents at one time or two made it kind of seem like she was looking for pity and attention. I would have liked her to be more humble, but maybe that’s just my personal opinion.
I could go on and on with all the brothers and even James about the less favorable traits in their personalities as well, but to make it short; for being a family they did not connect much as one personality-wise. They were just too different. Every event and twist also was taken a bit too far to be realistic and as much as I loved at the twist and the unexpected turn of events it just became a bit too much and too often to be relatable at some points.
At the end of the day, I really, absolutely one hundred pro cent enjoyed the story. Event, twists and characters despite their small flaws, was still amazingly written. To be able to make a reader see past the less favorable aspects in a book is what makes an expert author after all.
