Two fractured hearts and a forbidden love they can’t deny. You shouldn’t want what you can’t have… wealthy uncle, his fashion-empire-owning wife, and their seven screwed-up sons is quickly turning into a nightmare—especially when certain inappropriate feelings arise.
Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he’s her cousin.
He’s off limits.
And he’s not exactly welcoming—Kyler is ignorant, moody, and downright cruel at times—but Faye sees behind the mask he wears, recognizing a kindred spirit.
Kyler has sworn off girls, yet Faye gets under his skin. The more he pushes her away, the more he’s drawn to her, but acting on those feelings risks a crap-ton of prejudice, and any whiff of scandal could damage the precious Kennedy brand.
Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice.
But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing.
“Being a fan of the Royals series and the Fallen Crest series this book had everything I love – drama, mystery, betrayal, love, friendship, and the bond of family.” ★★★★★ Emma. Goodreads Reviewer.

I was excited when I heard Siobhan was going to write a contemporary romance. She is so good at creating characters that I knew it would be something special. I was not disappointed. If you enjoyed The Royals or Tijan’s less dark books, you will LOVE Finding Kyler.
The Kennedy’s are American Fashion Royalty running their famous Kennedy Clothing Line. Faye is a recently orphaned Irish girl. The Kennedy’s are rich, arrogant, dysfunctional; they are a Brand. Faye is a normal, middle class girl. Faye’s life has already been turned upside-down with the deaths of her beloved parents. Now she is expected to move to America to live with her previously unknown relatives; her mother’s brother, his wife, and their 7 sons. She’s expected to be a Kennedy, to fit into a world of wealth where everyone seems only out for themselves.
This book is so good! Siobhan has created a family with so much depth, I can see/hope for a dozen books about them. The characters are so developed and this family is surrounded by so much drama. From Kyler’s intensity and control to Keaton’s lightheartedness to the total mystery of Keanu, each of the Kennedy boys ooze sexiness and trouble. With a family this big, we only get glimpses into several of the brothers, but each has a secret or story to tell. The world of privilege that they live in only deepens their allure.
This book focuses on Kyler and Faye. They have an immediate connection, but neither is interested. There is also hostility on Kyler’s side. Their interactions are tense at every level; sexual, angry, confused, lustful. You know they are meant to be together despite the taboo of being cousins. It’s not illegal, but it’s also not accepted. They fight it, but some things are meant to be. It’s not always pretty between them. Kyler hurts Faye, and you hurt along with her. But the payoff is fantastic. They are explosive together. As the Kennedy family falls apart, they only grow closer. Love this couple!
This is a well paced, well-written, multi-layered story. Emotions are pulled in so many directions. It’s absolutely addictive. Once I started, I couldn’t put it down. And the ending! Warning: it is a cliffhanger and it will leave you desperate for the next book. I can’t recommend this book enough; it’s so very good! Siobhan has found her place at the top of this genre.
I started Finding Kyler last night before bed. Here’s kind of how it went down:
Me: I’m only going to read for about 15 minutes
One hour later….
Me: I only need six hours of sleep before work tomorrow…
FREAKING OBSESSED. That’s me. This series is like a soap opera mixed with crack. And that crack…is Wealth Adult. I don’t know what it is about damaged, spoiled, rich kids but they are a highly addictive substance to me.
So this Kyler-based trilogy is about Kyler (well duh) and Faye, his cousin. And that’s where this curveball comes from: the taboo. I thought the author handled it well, without it feeling over the top. These books go through a range of events, which is how it feels like a soap opera. No amnesia, though! Just your good, old-fashioned infidelity and murder.
Bottom line here: I’m rambling but it’s wonderful. Give it a try and see if you get sucked in like me!
A totally addictive read full with cat fights, teen anguish, lust and forbidden love.
Faye Donovan’s life has been turned upside-down. Having to move from Ireland to the other side of the world to her previously unknown uncle’s home in America with his seven intense and odd sons after her parent’s tragic car accident isn’t an easy adjustment. Especially not when one of her cousins frustrates her as much as he gives her heart palpitations, and there’s more to him than the rude and sullen façade he shows to the world which makes him even more irresistible to crack especially when he keeps everyone at arm’s length.
After his best friend and girlfriend’s betrayal, Kyler Kennedy has very little interest in getting into a relationship and is more focused on his motorcycle racing but when his off-limits cousin takes residence at this parent’s mansion and his mind and under his skin it’s hard to keep her at bay no matter how much he tries. And although a relationship with his cousin isn’t against the law, it’d still be frowned upon so keeping it under wraps seems the way to go. Can they find a way to be together or will family secrets keep them apart?
Oh boy, where to begin? There’s a reason I don’t read much YA, mainly because I’m not into all the teen angst and drama, but when I read that Siobhan Davis was writing a series in this genre similar to Rachel Van Dyken and Abbi Glines, I just couldn’t resist and I glad I didn’t. This story is executed with skill and an allure that kept me biting my nails and flipping pages well past my bedtime.
Even though I had a trouble with the cousin issue throughout the book, I do believe these aren’t just beautiful words randomly strung together. There’s a method to every accomplished writer’s madness that will take the reader in an addicting and unputdownable journey. I trust Siobhan’s cleverness to do just that. So having said that, I think Finding Kyler is a wonderful read, the pacing is perfect, the characters are well developed and the plot is moving.
Not only are Faye and Kyler complex and well layered all of the supporting characters are appealingly flawed and fascinating in their own unique way, even the bad “guys” who cause heartache and commotion. I loved reading all about all the Kennedy brothers whose names all start with K and I would’ve have confused if not for the chart the author provided at the beginning of the book. Siobhan gave every single one an interesting back story I can’t wait to read about in the coming books.
But the brothers aren’t the only characters that help build the story, there’s the Kennedy heads of family which have their own subplot, the cook’s daughter who is in love with one of the Kennedy boys but of course she can’t act on it because they’re not of the same social class, Kyler’s ex-best friend Brad and of course the mean girls.
Even though there are a good number of secondary characters and subplots, the hero and heroine are always at the forefront. Faye is a strong young woman who knows herself and isn’t afraid to express herself and just trying to find her place in her new life. Kyler, well… he’s somewhat lost his way, hence the book’s title. He was wishy-washy when it came to Faye being at times mean and then sweet, nice and thoughtful to her, but I couldn’t blame him, it was pretty much par for the course. Besides the fact that he’s part of a pretty dysfunctional family and has been hurt by love before, she’s off-limits! So they have their ups and downs, but as like knows like, they recognize a kindred spirit in each other which helps them connect on a deeper level.
Finding Kyler is book 1 in young adult The Kennedy Boys Series by Siobhan Davis. It’s written from the heroine’s points of view with an “I never saw that coming” shocking cliffhanger. I recommend it for readers that like emotional roller coaster teen drama and angst.
I LOVED this book!!
After the sudden death of her parents, Faye had to leave her home In Ireland and go to the United States, Wellesley, Massachusetts to be precise, and live with family she had never even known of before. She had to move in to the wealthy home of her Uncle (her mom’s brother) and his wife, with their and their seven very gorgeous and very messed up sons. Their family has above and beyond what the normal family has for problems. In comes Faye, who was an only child, and grew up in a well balanced home life. Faye is a great character! She is a strong and well balanced person, and she doesn’t know what to make of this family and they don’t know what to make of her!! As time goes along some of them come to really love Faye, especially Kyler. She starts to feel like she belongs there and feels loved.
Kyler is such an interesting character, with so many layers, or I should say walls. But Faye gets through, but only Faye, and I believe she still hasn’t quite gotten him stripped bare yet. But he is grouchy and mean on the outside but a softie on the inside. He loves and cares about his family. And he especially loves and cares about Faye. Deep down he has an immense capacity for love.
This book was delectable. Sinfully yummy. And a little taboo. I loved every bite.
I didn’t want to put this book down. It immediately drew me in.
Faye Donovan has lost a lot and is forced to move to the United States to live with family she never met, never even knew existed.
The Kennedy’s are a large family each struggling with their own problems. Wealth doesn’t buy happiness and this family definitely is not happy. There are 7 brothers who’s names all start with K. Each and every one of them suffer from their own problems then you throw into the mix a mother who has built a clothing empire and a father who put his own dreams on hold to raise the family while his wife built an empire.
Faye is thrown into a new culture not only coming from Ireland to the US but also in coming from a working class to a wealthy family where appearances are everything.
Keaton, Kalvin,Kyler and Faye each build unique relationship with one and other. It’s interesting to see these relationships grow. Kent is often in trouble. Keanu is often with jis mom modeling for Kennedy apparel. Keven and Kaden are away at Harvard but make a few appearances. Faye also makes friends with Rose and Brad who each seem to have their own problems, although Rose seems to have the least.
This book has drama and a lot if it. When it seems like the family is starting to make progress by taking one step forward they seem to take 2 steps back. I found myself constantly rooting for the family to come together and to find happiness.
I enjoyed reading this book and I can’t wait to read the rest. I usually wait to start a series because I hate having to wait to see what happens next. I was given an advanced copy of this book in exchange for my honest opinion and I thought it was great. I was sucked into Faye’s world from page one and it was hard to put down. Siobhan Davis has done it again and I can’t wait for the next book.
Eeek I loved this book, can’t wait for the next book!
Finding Kyler is the first book in the Kennedy boys series.
Faye Donovan’s life changed in the blink of an eye. Living in America, is completely unfamiliar and her family are complete strangers.
Kyler is a focused individual determined to meet his goals, having been betrayed by love, he has no interest in looking for love.
This story is captivating, well paced and well written. It’s highly entertaining and I didn’t want to put Finding Kyler down. The characters are complex, well developed and flawed. Both are damaged as a result of their past.
This story focuses on one very intriguing and dysfunctional family and has quite a few twists and turns, with secrets, pain, loss and drama.
The side characters are fascinating and I can’t wait to discover more of their stories.
Fans of the Royals will definitely connect with this series, I can’t wait to read the next installment.
What I absolutely love about literature is that everything is fair game. Readers can experience taboo subjects without actually living them. Finding Kyler is one of those books that will stick with you forever, and not just because it features a romantic relationship between first cousins, but also because the exceptional quality of the writing. Lolita by Nabokov is my all-time favorite book, and yes, the story disgusts many; however, with superb writing, you get inside the characters’ heads and their intentions become clear. With Ky and Faye, Siobhan shows us that true love knows no limits. Their romance is electrifying and witnessing their relationship evolve was beautiful. They are perfect for each other. Who cares if they are cousins?
Here is a list of everything you will find in Finding Kyler:
-Mean girls (Addison and Peyton are awesome villains)
-Hot guys (All the Kennedy boys, Brad, and yes, I think James is hot too)
-Dysfunctional families
-High school parties (who doesn’t love party scenes?)
-Interesting friends (I love Rose and Lana)
– Characters with entitlement issues and poor little rich boys
– Drama 🙂
– An ending that will leave your jaw hanging open but it will make you laugh at the same time (or maybe that’s just me)
In conclusion, I loved Finding Kyler, and I really can’t wait to continue with the series!
I absolutely love Siobhan Davis’ other book series, True Calling and Saven, so even though this series is a bit different from those series, I was excited to get my hands on Finding Kyler, and I enjoyed it! Siobhan Davis knows how to create an involving story, where once you start the book, you don’t want to stop, and Finding Kyler definitely kept my interest. In Finding Kyler, Faye’s parents have died, and since she is only 17, she needs to leave Ireland and go live with her mother’s rich brother in America, and Faye is not happy about it, but she doesn’t have a choice. When Faye arrives, she meets her 7 male cousins and her Uncle’s wife, and the boys aren’t exactly welcoming, but Faye has sass, so she isn’t having it. Among the most rude of the cousins is Kyler, he definitely has a chip on his shoulder, but Faye feels a connection with him, but his coldness towards her, makes her determined to fight her draw to him, but despite her best intentions, she doesn’t last long. Also, Faye has to deal with the rich snobs, mean girls who think they are god’s gift, catty bitchiness, and the dysfunction of her new family. There’s lots of drama to be had in Finding Kyler! Finding Kyler takes places in a Richie Rich world, and deals with the pretentious, so be prepared to dislike most of the characters. Luckily Faye is a good character since the whole book is in her perspective, Faye is tough and independent, and after the initial meeting of her character, I really liked her. Kyler runs hot and cold most of the time, so I’m not in love with him yet, and the rest of the cousins are obnoxious and immature, so there wasn’t any book boyfriend material as of yet, but lots of room for these boys to grow. Now, the whole thing of Faye and Kyler being cousins didn’t really bother me too much, I think I’m more forgiving when things are in books, then if it were in actual life, so I was cool with that, and Siobhan Davis doesn’t just gloss over the issue, she faces it head on in the book. Now, there is a huge bombshell at the end of the book, so this is a cliffhanger ending, so I’m definitely anticipating the next book. I definitely feel like there’s something else going on behind the scenes of Faye’s family; especially past transgressions of members of Faye’s family, so I’m excited to see where Siobhan takes this story, and I hope the next book doesn’t make me wait too long before I get some answers!
I positively adore the Saven series. I really need to get to work on reading the True Calling books. I’m now finding myself in love with The Kennedy Boys, after just one book.
Upon finding out the final Saven book was delayed due to a contemporary read, my inner fangirl started to die a slow death. Could I wait so long to find out how the amazing series was to end? I didn’t know, but my heart was beating out the tune of how I’m rather impatient when it comes to awaiting promise filled books. Despite this, I was more than a little bit intrigued to see what Siobhan Davis had to offer in her new series. It was something different, something away from her norm, and I wanted to see how it played out.
It’s a sad fact that when authors try a genre outside of their norm, things can go one of two ways. They can create something wonderful, thus leaving us all hooked. They can create something below par, something that leaves the fandom pointing them back towards what they know best. Fortunately, for Siobhan Davis and her fans, this is a case of falling into the former category. Whilst Siobhan Davis can write a wonderful young adult science fiction novel, she can also write a great young adult contemporary read.
Finding Kyler is the first in what is to be The Kennedy Boys trilogy, and from the very start you are pulled into the story. It begins on somewhat of a cliché note, but such a thing is necessary. It is one of those big events that turn the life of our main character upside down to set everything into motion. If you’re a fan of young adult contemporary reads, then you know to accept such things. These things are unavoidable, they’re necessary to get the ball rolling. Which is exactly what happens: the ball starts rolling instantly with our character being dragged across the ocean to start her new life.
Thrown from the everyday life and into the life of the rich, it is another aspect that has been done before – but as with her other work, Siobhan Davis works it in such a way that it instantly becomes her own. Our main character deals with this change in life in a way that very few characters do. After all, how many times can you say you’ve seen someone thrown into the life of the rich and famous get a waitressing job? It’s the seemingly little things that all come together to make this book unique, the apparently small aspects that make this book well and truly its own. I really could say so much about the tiny aspects that make the book unique, but I have no wish to spoil the fun. Thus, I’ll move on to the bigger things.
This book is filled with so many aspects. We have our main character finding herself. We have romance. We have revenge. We have lies and deceit. Nothing is limited to just one person – everyone seems to be involved in something. Siobhan Davis knows how to make an onion of a story, adding multiple layers, and this book is no different. Throughout we have questions, and whilst some things are made clear, by the end of the story we have very little by way of knowledge. We have no idea what is going on with certain characters, we have no idea what the truth is, and we’re left wanting to know more. All of these things come together so well, and it’s so much fun watching the way things develop throughout.
In terms of the romance, I’ll say this book will not be for everyone. I wasn’t sure how I felt about the whole cousin aspect of the story. I come from a rather large family, and whilst I’m not in contact with all of my cousins I don’t think I would ever be able to think about them in the way the main character thought of hers. Even those I know of only by name, those who live in another country, I wouldn’t be able to. It’s the mere knowledge of them being cousins. This, however, does play in with the whole prejudice aspect of the story. The way people think and react is important to the way in which the story plays out, adding more to the story. Whilst I wasn’t crazy about this aspect, I also didn’t hate it. Basically, just know this story will not be for everyone.
As for the ending… well. I knew something was going to come about at the end, but I’d been hoping it wouldn’t be that. I was crossing my fingers that things would go in the opposite direction. Of course, I cannot complain because it means there’s to be a lot of drama in the next book. Honestly, it has me so curious to see where things go from here. The number of lies and the deceit – wow. It’s one hell of a mess, and I really want some answers to everything that is going on.
Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Siobhan Davis has proven she is more than capable of writing outside of her science fiction norm, and I’m super excited to read the rest of the series.
As a final note, I would like to thank the author for allowing me to advance read this story.
I downloaded this book free on Kindle but would’ve gladly paid for it had I come across it sooner. I usually prefer standalone books or series which can be read in any order but this book caught my interest straight away from just reading the book description and I’m so glad that I downloaded it as I couldn’t put it down.
The taboo aspect didn’t put me off and as the story progressed I hoped everything would fall into place so the couple could have their HEA. You could tell Kyler and Faye were destined to be together but as with any great love story, there’s lots of bumps along the way and the biggest bump so far came right at the end. All I can say about the ending is ‘wow wow wow’ as I never saw that coming and I had to download book 2 (Losing Kyler) straight away because I needed to know if Kyler and Faye survived their biggest challenge so far.
I 100% recommend this book and can assure that you’ll be hooked and need to read/know more.
Unbelievably captivating tale of a story. Finding Kyler will take you on a war path of colossal amounts of emotions of highs and lows like you’ve never known before. Siobhan Davis is a genius to begin an intricate series weaved with suspension, romance and thick plots behind every corner.
Faye Donovan’s life has just dropped from under her when her parents are taken from her by a cruel accident. Now, months away from her 18th birthday she is whisked away from Ireland to America by an Uncle she has never known and into the Kennedy Dynasty where fame and wealth comes at a price. Upon meeting her cousins, a warm welcome she doesn’t quite get, however, she feels a calling, a connection to Kyler. He’s moody, arrogant and in rare form.
“[He] emits dangerous, seductive vibes that speak directly to that secret chamber inside me. It’s like he possesses a silent calling card that resurrects a hidden wild part of me.”
Seeing through his outer shell, Kyler mirrors her same inner turmoil. The darkness that lingers and fights long to get out. And even though they begin their journey on a rough note, soon their souls connect, bursting to gravitate towards one another, seeking to be unleashed. But nothing in the Kennedy Dynasty is perfect and their attraction is taboo… or is it?
Faye sees the dysfunction lurking in the Kennedy house, but becoming apart of the family carries its burdens too. Whether that be with her ‘cousins’ or blending in with her soon to be peers. Her life in Ireland wasn’t easy in least and it looks like history might just repeat itself.
Could the perfect family that everyone idolizes hide secrets in the many shadows of their many recess of their lives? What happens when the shadows can no longer hold the power of the secrets any longer?
Be ready to strap into a rollercoaster full of different characters, multiple personalities that all play a part in Faye’s new world in America. She is feisty and strong but hides a deeper, sadness behind her fiery personality. She can keep up with all the testosterone of the Kennedy’s which is honorable, since if I was in her shoes I would have retreated. Siobhan’s writing is contagious. Once you are consumed into the drama and angst of all that is going on, before you know it the end is upon you and your jaw is hitting the floor from the shocker that has unfolded.
I am one click away from diving into Losing Kyler for the continuation of Faye’s journey in the Kennedy Dynasty. This is a must read for sure!
A forbidden, sexy read!
Two fractured hearts…
A forbidden love they can’t deny…
Kyler Kennedy makes her head hurt and her heart race, but he’s her cousin…
He’s off limits…
Concealing their feelings seems like the only choice…
But when everyone has something to hide, a secret is a very dangerous thing…
Such a heart-wrenching read full of fun and a mind-blowing romance which is highly forbidden. I loved reading every moment of this sexy read – I just couldn’t get enough of it that I stayed up all night reading.
So dark. So seductive. So alluring. So freaking brilliantly written.
Full of loss, love, family, reputation, enemies, secrets, lies, betrayal, a forbidden romance, scandal, dysfunctional families, teen soap-opera-style angst and drama, mean girls and catfights, lust and love.
Perfect for readers of forbidden romances/contemporary romances.
Love this authors work, and this new series has me wanting more!! I never can put her books down until I am finished with them and she always leaves me wanting more with her cliffhangers. If you are a fan of Paper Princess then you will love this book. Let me tell you, I am usually the one out of the group that can tell you what is going to happen next and WOW I was floored by the ending of this book, I totally did not see that coming……. Want to know what it was? Guess you will have to read it to find out
I couldn’t put this book down!!! You think the story will go one way and bam! the author adds a twist to the story.
Being a fan of Siobhan Davis, I was nervous I wouldn’t like this book due to it’s taboo element. I’m happy to report that I was pleasantly surprised. I should have known that Davis’ writing would make all the difference in the world. From the beginning of the book I found myself so connected with the main character, that I took on her views of the subject and was able to just enjoy the roller coaster ride of her romance. Faye and Kyler are a couple that you end up rooting for against all odds up until that final mind blowing, soul shattering cliff hanger.
I haven’t read the books that people have been comparing this to, but I will say that if you are a fan of Gossip Girl and things like that, you’ll likely enjoy this book. I do caution though, that this is not Young Adult as people have called it, I’d definitely call this a New Adult book. There are parts that get pretty steamy and some content that might be unsuitable for those under 18.
I struggled with reviewing this book because of the kissing cousin’s angle. But once I removed that from the equation, and evaluated it on a level with traditional romance, it was excellent. Each of the characters had a very distinct voice and authentic personality. Accomplishing this feat with 7 brothers AND all the ancillary characters proves Ms. Davis is a true craftsman.
This family is seriously messed up, but I loved learning about each of their individual stories bit by bit. It was interesting to me that, despite all hot boys Faye was surrounded by, none affected her on the primal level that Kyler did. Each of them saw something in the other that resonated. Faye and Kyler tried to stay away from each other, but the pull was just too strong. I guess it just goes to show that you can’t help who you’re attracted to.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Interesting story. Kinda made me feel dirty though. Especially after the end was revealed. Then that there are 2 more books that follow it… I debated. I liked the characters and was interested in seeing where the story goes but it’s kind of icky
