I loved the book. It was well written and details made you think you were there. Once you start you can’t put it down.
One of our heroine’s students has gone missing and now she is out to find her before it is too late.
This is book three in the series and works well as a standalone. There are references to previous books/events, but nothing which is essential to enjoying this one.
This is an mystery story with a good dose of action to it. The story is well written and easy to read with an engaging plot that has a lot of twists and turns to it. There is actually rather a lot going on, but fortunately our heroine is tough, smart and up to the challenge, just the way I like them. I found the story to be very enjoyable and look forward to going back and reading the previous stories, as well as reading future ones.
Highly recommended.
I received an ARC from Hidden Gems for review purposes.
A page-turning adventure!
What I like about this book:
1) Action galore.
2) Page-turning suspense.
3) Cassidy’s dedication to finding / helping a student.
What I did not like about this book (why I subtracted a star):
1) Some of the far-fetched antics were hard to believe.
2) The story was not finished to my satisfaction. Although the main mystery was solved, it ended on a cliffhanger of the larger background story.
A Kindle Unlimited Read.
This is the first book I have read by this author, and I plan to go back and read the others in this series, as I believe they would provide me with some background on Cassidy Kincaid.
This novel begins with Cassidy and her team finishing up camp for a geological study for the university. Cassidy needs to return home to begin prep for another study trip to Hawaii, but she is called by the university and told that one of the students on the trip never made it back to school. It seems that Izzy Ford left the van at one of the stops for gas, and no one noticed until too late. Now, Cassidy is tasked with finding Izzy in a race against the clock. Cassidy is pulled into a world of sex trafficking/pornography as she tries to find Izzy.
What I liked – Cassidy is strong, and has dealt with many issues, including the loss of her fiance in an earlier book. She has issues, but she is working through them. I also liked the cliffhanger ending.
What I found to be unbelievable – Cassidy was able to go to large cities and track people easily. Cassidy was able to drive everywhere on very limited sleep. She was able to handle a large motorcycle with very little experience, she went into extremely dangerous situations totally unprepared (who would do that, esp. when she knew the danger??) I found some of that to be completely far fetched. However, since I didn’t have the background of the character from the previous books, perhaps I am missing something, but I still find it difficult to believe that someone would knowingly go into that situation, esp. considering her past.
I would like to thank the author for providing me with a copy of this book so that I could review it. All opinions are entirely my own.
