It had been a good amount of time since I read the first book in this series. I did not get a chance to re-read it before picking up book two…But from the very first paragraph it was like coming home! I immediately felt that welcoming feeling of being surrounded by characters who I not only recognized, but really missed as well! I easily dove into the story and couldn’t put it down!
Erin is a feisty, take no prisoners, if I want to do it I damn well will kind of girl. She’s sassy, confident and fiercely loyal to those she cares about. Ryan is cocky, no-nonsense detective who lives for the job… and the ladies. One night is all either of them ever wanted, until now. I love how easily I am drawn into the story and become attached to the characters in this series. Raye builds on the tension, chapter after chapter until you find yourself racing through them. I would highly recommend this book for anyone who enjoys a against all odds kind of love story with an element of danger and excitement.
This is book two in the Rockport Beach series and can be read as a stand-alone although those having read the previous book in the series will have an edge on contextual insight involving some of the tertiary characters. While this novel is definitely an adult contemporary romance, the plot dynamic is developed around so much more than its romantic components. The dark underpinning involving crime, betrayal, and ultimately, redemption is what gives this narrative its edge. Claire Raye has crafted these wonderful, relatable characters that engage the reader from all aspects. They have personality flaws, make mistakes, and have this amusing sarcastic wit that just pulls the reader in and attaches an immediate emotional investment on the outcome. Absolutely love this series. 5 stars!
Erin and Ryan have a thing going on. Neither wants to admit it to their mutual friends, let alone to themselves and each other, but it’s a fact. Now if only they could get on the same page and either admit their feelings and let it all out, or go their separate ways.
And then one night while Ryan’s on a case, he finds something out about Erin that blows his mind. So when he confronts her, it doesn’t exactly go that well, considering that he’s once again yelling, and she’s once again on the defensive. Yep. Same old with these two. But that something that Ryan found out about Erin has the potential to take Erin and everyone around her down. Will they get through it intact? Will Erin ever learn to open up to Ryan?
Erin and Ryan are a combustible ball of fire just waiting to be detonated. Their relationship consists of fighting, yelling, and having sex. Then one or the other of them walking (running) away from the other. Then rinse. Repeat. And it got really, really old. Talk about a toxic, angsty, ANNOYING relationship to have to read! Gah I don’t like even writing this review because Finding Home With You annoyed me so much! So why 3 stars and not the 2 I was tempted to give it? Well, the writing itself is good. It’s just the characters and their ridiculous behavior that I hated. And Finn. Finn is the main reason for 3 and not 2 stars. Because he’s intriguing and the snippet of his story intrigued me so much that I could almost forgive Erin and Ryan for annoying the hell out of me. Almost, but not quite. So I have to give it 3 stars because I can see potential in the writing and because now I can look forward to Finn’s story. But Ryan and Erin? Most annoying, obnoxious, wishy washy couple that’s graced (not) my Kindle in a long, long time.
Erin and Ryan have an explosive relationship together. However, their relationship is not just explosive in the bedroom, every chance these two are together they are always fighting.
The arguing between these two is so explosive that it would seem that they would never get along however, it seems to work for them. It only works when they actually talk to each other but each of them is withholding information from each other because they want to protect the other. However, withholding the type of information that they are may actually be the end of what they have.
Will Ryan and Erin learn to trust each other before it’s to late?
I loved the suspense in this story.
In this second book of the series, we get to follow Erin and Ryan specifically! Wow. Talk about one heck of a brutally passional ate heated book. Holy hotness! Oh goodness, Shelley is still up to her old tricks I see… What happens right before Ryan comes to Rockport Why does Erin go to Finn’s place? Who is William Fitzgerald? What happens the night that Ryan goes back to Boston? Who is William’s second in command? When Ryan leaves from visiting with Erin, again, where does he go and why? OMG!!! So many expected, yet unexpected things happened in this book!!! You need to read this book….
RECEIVED THIS BOOK AS A GIFT FOR A FAIR/HONEST REVIEW and REVIEWER FOR Bloggin’ With M. Brennan.
I was so excited that Erin & Ryan got their own book! They were so explosive together, and I loved watching them actually open up and genuinely get to know each other. The suspense was the perfect addition to their story! I didn’t want to put it down!
The return to Rockport was a lot more than I bargained for. Claire Raye took what she started in book one of this series and amped up the danger factor by 100 in Finding Home with You.
I liked that Erin had a made a quiet life for herself. Especially after learning the life she had escaped. But when danger shows up at her doorstep, she turns to the man she can’t get out of her head, Ryan. I liked Ryan. He was smart and protective. He did tend to react before he thought sometimes but his intentions were always good. And when a case he’s working on overlaps with what’s plaguing Erin, he knows he’ll do whatever it takes to put an end to it all.
Ryan and Erin’s story was the right blend of sexy, romantic and suspenseful. While a touch predictable in spots, there was more than one moment that had me reading furiously to see what exactly what was going on. I’m looking forward to coming back to this series to see the woman that is going to knock Finn off his feet!
Ever since I saw the sparks fly between these two in the first Rockport Beach book, I was so excited to see Erin and Ryan get their own story – and it did NOT disappoint. Sure, Erin and Ryan have some amazingly hot chemistry, but their love story goes so much deeper than just getting busy in a bathroom.
Erin has a past that she thought she left behind – until it finally catches up with her and forces her to make some tough decisions. Her past has left her scarred and afraid to let herself love again, until Ryan busts into her life and turns everything upside down. What starts as hot sex quickly evolves into something more for her very quickly, which is scary and exciting and swoonworthy.
Then there’s Ryan, a detective in Boston, who can’t let Erin go. He also quickly falls for her and wants her to be more than just a friend with benefits. When a case at his job unexpectedly crosses into his personal life, he comes to some realizations and gives his all to protect – and love – Erin.
Their story is complex and intertwines in ways that I didn’t see coming. Claire Raye did a phenomenal job with this book; they gave me so much more than I was expecting, and it had so many twists and turns that before I knew it, I’d read until the very end. This is my favorite book in the series!
I never would have expected this book! From the last book, Erin seems to have it all; a great job, great friends, and enjoy her life. Little do we know who Erin really is, but time has run out for her and her past is coming. After hooking up with Ryan months ago and it steadily continuing, the two are essentially in a relationship without titles. That’s about to change though because Ryan is in it for the long haul and makes it known. When the two come to find out Erin’s past and Ryan’s latest case have a common factor, their lives are turned upside down. Between the suspense of Erin’s past and her family’s secrets to the additional surprises throughout the book, this one might be better than the first! The chemistry between these two sets the pages on fire and the passion in Claire’s writing definitely makes itself known. I also loved the ending of this story and that Erin and Ryan find their HEA.
I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
This is the second book in the Rockport Beach series and if you’ve read the first book you’ve already been introduced to Kelsey’s best friend, Erin, and Beck’s former partner in Boston, Ryan.
Erin has been running from her past since she was 18. New home, new identity and never seeing her family again. That is until the past starts to find her again. Can she trust Ryan enough to tell him the truth and possible put his life in danger?
Erin and Ryan have INSANE chemistry. Everything about their relationship is EXPLOSIVE! Ryan’s protectiveness over Erin is seriously swoon-worthy. I mean, who wouldn’t love a hot detective boyfriend?! You can feel his love and passion for her through the pages.
Ryan’s job and Erin’s past begin to cross paths but they still continue to keep secrets from one another. There is so much drama ad suspense throughout this story that I was on the edge of my seat and couldn’t put it down. I was completely hooked and had to know what was going to happen next.
Finding Home With You is the perfect mix of steaminess, suspense, drama, and romance. A must read!

5 perfect stars!!
This is book two in “The Rockport Beach” series and can be read as a stand alone but I do NOT recommend it. These books flow together so easily.
Ok I didn’t think Ryan and Erin’s love story was gonna really be as good as the Kelsey and Beck. But I was WRONG. I think I like these two together even more. Ryan and Erin are like a “real” couple. This is beauty. They are hilarious and complicated and perfect.
This book was written flawlessly and I flew right through it. There were twists and secrets but the way these people in this town work together is beautiful. And the end, when we got the glimpse of Finn’s book. Holy shit I did not see that coming!!!
This book is funny, charming, aggravating, scary, hopeful, brave, sexy and so much more!!
**I received this book as a review copy and in return gave my honest review**
This is the second book in the Rockport Beach series which tells Erin and Ryan’s story. This book was filled with drama, suspense, witty banter and so much chemistry that I was extremely engrossed in this read that I didn’t want to put it down. I was flipping through page after page inhaling this story with rapt attention which had me gasping chapter after chapter that by the end of the book I was left with no words. I am looking forward to the next book because Finn had me intrigued since the first book.
