Book 2 in the silver creek shifters series.
We meet Liz, after handing in her notice, she’s ready for a new challenge – shocked to find out that she is being considered and terrified of messing up her inteview. Put at ease by Stella and mama alley the owners of shifter creek resort…she is hopeful that things are turning her way. Even more so when she meets Jesse Matthews, if only her cropping anxiety will let her put her trust in him.
Jesse has been a nomad, restless and a wanderer for as long as he can remember. Whenever he gets that moving urge he does but always returned to his friend Brady and Stella… so when Liz shows up, he knows from the moment he sets eye on her she’s the one for him… and his bear… he just needs to convince her to trust him first.
Anxiety…so many people have it and it kinda gets brushed aside as ‘the norm’ or no big deal for those who suffer with it. I loved that this book tackled the subject in such an honest and raw way. An honest way… it was great to see Liz work through her anxiety and concerns with Jesse in an honest way. It was lovely to read and so was Jesse and liz’s story.
Back in Silver Creek, Stella and Brady are getting the cabins ready for guests, but they can’t do it alone. Brady’s friend Jesse is among the people helping Stella and Brady out. Normally Jesse is not one to settle down, he rides his motorcycle from coast to coast, plays his music and goes when things get too stale. He doesn’t think there is a mate for him, because he should have met her by now? Right? Liz decides to try for a job as the head cook for Stella and Brady. Finally something that fits her better than flipping burgers. Sure she’s nervous as all get out, especially because anxiety has always been a constant companion for her.
What a great story, I absolutely love Jules Tyler’s stories: the characters are sweet and the stories make me smile, they are just what I need on the last grey days of winter. I absolutely love Jesse and Liz. I think everyone of us have had the same thoughts as Liz and she is in some way stronger than a lot of heroines, because she fights her anxiety so that she can finally be happy. Honorable mention goes to Mama Ally! She’s just a side character, but she treats all the people at silver creek like her family! I absolutely adore her, her remarks give me full belly aching, laugh-out-loud laughs!
This is a beautiful heartfelt story about Jessie a grizzly shifter and Liz a chef. The chemistry between these two is crazy hot and they are perfect for each other. I love the way the author took on the subject of anxiety it made the characters more believable. The writing is good, the story flowed nicely and the characters are well developed.
Liz needs help, and to start a new life. Although Jessie is content with his life, he realizes just what he needs when he meets Liz. Beautiful story of the joys and hardships as a relationship develops.
