A novel about a shattered family, broken hearts, and healing love by Rachel Van Dyken, the number one New York Times bestselling author of Stealing Her.Coming out of a coma was one hell of a wake-up call. While I was in the dark, my estranged twin brother, Bridge, had replaced me in the company I owned and swept up my fiancée in the takeover. With my ruthless reputation, can I blame them for … reputation, can I blame them for falling in love? I have to look long and hard at where I’ve been and where I’m headed. Alone time? The universe has other plans.
Our family’s secluded Vermont cabin comes with a gorgeous—if at first, unwelcoming—surprise. She’s renter Keaton Westbrook, a social media superstar struggling with her own private grief. As a winter storm bears down, we’ve found something to keep us warm—an intimacy neither of us expected and both of us need.
After we say goodbye, what happens then? Keaton and I are longing to reconcile with our painful pasts. I can’t bear to do it without her. Is it too much to ask of fate to give us a second chance at life and love?

I love it when an author redeems a character from a previous book, especially when the reader (and maybe I am only speaking for myself *shrug*) would put her hand in the fire before admitting that character was redeemable!! This story did that! I picked up Stealing Her, the first book in this series, when Finding Him came up for review and read all about Julian Tennyson and let me just say that man had me #twitchy! And then Finding Him happened and ….
NOTE: You do not have to read Stealing Her before you read Finding Him, but (lol there is always a but), you will appreciate the man Julian is a lot more if you do. Just my 2 cents. Do with them what you will.
I really felt this story while I read it. Julian and Keaton both were dealing with deep issues and they were a comfort to each other while they were stranded in a blizzard and as they helped each other come out of their perspective grief, they navigated themselves right into a romance. What I enjoyed the very best about this story is exactly that, they both had conflict they needed each other to get thru. It wasn’t one sided. It wasn’t just one character trying to get past something while the other was there for support. They both had things to get past/thru and they had each other to do it with … that’s what made the story deeply emotional for me. Rachel Van Dyken spun a captivating and emotional tale full of heart and hope. For as much as the story saddened me, there were equal parts that gave me joy and made my heart soar! Amazing story I highly recommend to everyone!
What do you do when the life you knew falls apart. Things so completely out of your control that making sense of the world seems impossible? Julian woke up from a coma to find the world he was living in was flipped upside down by the inclusion of his estranged twin brother. Now all the things he worked so long and hard for are gone.
Keaton is struggling in a similar but very different way. Trying to find herself after the loss of someone who defined her.
When these two are stranded and stuck in a storm together, other concerns seem to come up.
Reading how Julian and Keaton become more than strangers stranded together, into friendship and healing hearts is nothing short of phenomenal. Having read Stealing her and seeing Juilan painted as the bad guy to then feel for him in the end, takes this book on another level. This is no simple love story and it one that will have you melting like the snow in springtime.
An extraordinary reading experience
Finding Him is one of the most emotional reads by RVD I ever had the honor of reading. It gives you all the feels and chills in all the right ways.
Julian and Keaton both have experienced the unimaginable. Both suffered heartbreak and loss to an extent that is heart wrenching to the reader.
Believe me when I say their journey to each other will soothe your soul. There will be tears and laughter, angsty and funny moments.
You will sit on the edge of your chair the entire time until you finally close this book with a sigh that comes deep from the heart.
Rachel created a story of love and forgiveness, not only towards someone else but also towards oneself, as this sometimes can be the hardest of all.
I recommend this book 100% as it is an extraordinary reading experience . 5+ Stars!!!
Julian felt like he lost everything that was important in his life when he was in a coma. After his twin brother Bridge ends up in love with Julian’s former fiancé, Julian realized that his life needs to undergo a complete reevaluation. It is so hard to not show the bitterness that is lying in wake, and Julian knows that he must find a way to overcome the pain that accompanied the events that have unfolded.
Keaton Westbrook is longing to escape the public eye. After a relationship that played out in detail on social media is no more, Keaton struggles to find the lights that clearly has been extinguished. With a book deal that demands attention waiting on Keaton, the pressure to bring the past into the future is barreling down on the socialite with the weight of the world. Seeking solace in a Vermont cabin, the last thing Keaton expects is to come face to face with anyone.
With a winter storm brewing on the horizon, Keaton and Julian will quickly discover that a secluded cabin might bring them closer than either could have imagined. For once – the two find solace in another without the media hanging on their every whim. What transpires when an epic storm cripples the area will set the stage for a future that neither could have predicted.
Finding Him is the latest installment in the Covet series by Rachel Van Dyken. This novel follows Julian after his world is turned upside down. During the first book in the series, readers found that Julian wasn’t an honorable man. The actions that led Julian and Bridge to this place in life have left the once successful businessman longing for another life. Keaton enters Julian’s life in the most unexpected way, and I couldn’t have been more entranced by the couple. Julian stole the show in this book, but you shouldn’t take my word for it. Dive head first into the Covet series and experience this unique turn of events for two brothers connected in more ways than one!
After waking up from a coma and learning that he had lost everything that meant anything to him was completely devastating. Due to his father’s greed, his brother was forced to step in and assume his life while he laid in a hospital bed, leaving him to wake with nothing he had before, including the woman he loved. Now he is at a complete loss, not sure what life holds for him now.
But a chance encounter with a beautiful angel named Keaton at his families cabin is about to breath new life into his broken and battered heart…
Finding Him is a beautifully penned story of loss, finding love and new beginnings. Watching these two come together was heart-rending and uplifting at the same time, both carrying so much hurt in their hearts, both dealing with unimaginable loss, and their love bringing them renewed joy. Their pasts unite them, spark a mutual understanding, and spawn new feelings of love they never thought were possible again. Page after page these two pulled me deeper into their lives, quickly earning my support, and stealing my full attention and touching my heart. There was a lot to love about this one, it’s words were emotional and touching, and it’s characters endearing and welcoming… it was a perfect literary escape! Highly recommend!
I requested an advanced copy of this title from the publisher, and I am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion.
Okay first let me say that Rachel Van Dyken has this unique ability to tell a story that pulls you in and refuses to let go until the last page is read! She writes with emotion, passion and truth that literally has me barely holding on as all the emotion, pain and love come jumping off the pages!
Keaton was this young, beautiful woman that had this wonderful, caring personality but was struggling to find her self after a devastating loss.
Julian Tennyson was a rich, egomaniac, forced to take a break and deal with the chaos his life had become, waking up from a coma, the death of his mother and his fiancé married to someone else.
These two truly had nothing in common but heartache and a desperate need to be alone but somehow they end up stuck alone on a mountain in a snowstorm together. What could possibly go wrong?? Well a lot of things shift and the relationship grows from enemies to friends to something somewhere in between.
This novel was written with all the feels, passion and angst of two broken people trying to find their happiness and move on even when the odds are stacked against them!
Rachel Van Dyken has written a story that will pull at your heartstrings, have you throwing your kindle and then smiling at the end!!
I highly recommend this book to anyone that loves a story that has all the feels and will leave you smiling at the end!!
Wow what a story, everything I was hoping for and more.
Loved it so much.
The author knows how to bring characters to life and feel like you are living along side them.
This book will send you on such a rollercoaster of emotions, I strongly suggest you stock up on tissues and wine.
Both J & K have been through so much alone, watch them battle themselves, each other and the world. It is inspiring.
Another fantastic heartfelt read from Rachel
I’ll be honest I went into this book not really liking julian very much yes I felt sorry for him but come on he kinda deserved it …..
But wow I fell hard, really really hard for him by the end of the book I was a giddy love struck little girl with a content smile on my face ,,,oh julian you melt my heart
” your the eye of my storm, the calmest part of my life when everything around me is chaos”
This book is a heartbreaking story of loss and finding love through that loss even if we don’t believe we should or that we deserve it, the writing as always is witty and steamy and perfect, Rachel is always sure to draw you into the story enabling you to feel the emotion on every page another brilliant story….
I think this is the best book to date for RVD. This book was so full of emotions!! You get the witty humor along with the heartbreaking love and you go on one hell of a rollercoaster ride with Finding Him.
Another this that I think Rachel is the queen of is taking that one guy that everyone seems to hate and redeeming him in such a way that you break. She did it with Phoenix (Eagle Elite) and Julian was so broken and kinda the villain in Stealing Her that I really didn’t know what to expect of him in this book. My heart was put through the wringer as Julian tries to come to terms with his new life. Losing his fiancee to his brother, losing his mother after just finding her love again. Once I started the book, I could not put it down.
Rachel amazes me with each new book that publishes but I have to say that the Covet Series is my new favorite!
I loved Finding Him SO. DAMN. MUCH!!! I fully devoured this book, I could not get enough! This was such a cute freaking story. The chemistry between Julian and Keaton was out of this world! I don’t want to give any spoilers but I also really loved the appearances of Bridge and Izzy as well.
Julian and Keaton both were on extremely difficult journeys of finding peace and resolution after the passing of a close loved one and both ended up in the same place at the same time. Fate?
I was so worried Julian was not going to redeem himself but he totally did! I suppose being in a coma and waking up to find your world turned upside down will do that to you.
It was so sweet how both of them were there for each other and lifted the other one up in those low moments. They trusted each other, trudged through the mud together, and built a love I think anyone would die for.
I also really liked the aspect of social media in this story. Keaton is Hollywood royalty and is anxious and apprehensive about sharing new parts of her life with her followers and I think thats such an important topic, honestly. People with massive amounts of followers are still human and go through real things. I think in this day and age its easy to forget that and its not fair. I really like that RVD included that angle. Its important, and I think something that should be recognized more.
This might be one of my all time faves from Rachel. It was such a good, well rounded story and even though it deals with some really heavy topics, it was such a happy, fun book. And in true RVD fashion, the banter between characters is out of this world! I so look forward to the dialogue in her books! its hands down, the best!
If you liked Stealing Her, youre going to die over Finding Him! These boys are something else!
I wanted to read about Julian, and having Keaton in the mix well I absolutely loved them. These Tennyson brothers are owning me one page at a time. My heart got wrenched and put back together, it was just a rollercoaster of emotions all mixed and turned. This new series is amazing, they can however be read as stand alones, but I suggest you read them all, they are so good.
Another EPIC story by Rachel
Every time I read an RVD book, I’m absolutely astonished at the emotion she pulls out of me as a reader. She’s one of a few who manage to get those tears flowing but boy oh boy does she do it well
Julian is the twin brother who awoke from his coma, only to discover his entire life was not as it was before When he gets forced to take vacation, he finds himself stranded with a stranger
Keaton is taking a much needed break to try and write the story of the man who stole her heart but died before they could get their happily ever after. When Julian shows up to the cabin she rented for the next month, it forces them both to face their fears, emotions and futures
An amazingly epic story that I absolutely did not want to finish, but as they say all good things come to an end Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and Rachel for my advanced copy for which I voluntarily leave my honest review
Let me preface this review with the statement that I’ve read some incredible books in the last several months thanks to NetGalley and various ARC teams. Some made me laugh, some had me sitting on the edge of my seat holding my breath, some blew my mind and all of them were 5-star reads. Having said that, none of them came close to giving me the “feels” that this book did, nor did any of them make me cry buckets of tears like this book did. Wow, what a tremendously emotional read! If you’ve read the first book in this series, Stealing Her, you know that Finding Him is Julian’s story and what a heartbreaking, heartwarming, emotional story it is. Adding in Keaton and her story of loss, love and grief made this a 10+ star read for me. Anyone who has gone through the loss of a loved one like Keaton has will absolutely understand her feelings and emotions. And as far as Julian goes, I’ll let you find out if he redeems himself in this book because I think it’s best enjoyed if you have no preconceived notions like I did. I’ve always enjoyed this author’s work and have read most of her books but I personally think she’s outdone herself with this book. Absolutely breathtaking, thought-provoking, steamy, emotional and highly recommended. These characters will remain in my heart for years to come. Rachel Van Dyken has written a epic love story in Finding Him! 10+ stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed an ARC for NetGalley.
Bridge has had his entire world turned upside-down. The coma was the beginning of the end. He lost his fiancé to his brother. The family business is run better by his brother. And the mother he just got back is dying. Has been for years. After her funeral he is pushed into a vacation, and the only place that seems viable is the family cabin. The time away mat do him some good. Except that is exactly what Keaton had in mind to when she rented the place! Neither of them expected someone else to be their why they grieved their loved ones. Neither expected the attraction that grew between them. Will their journey be a one night stand, or can they heal each other and grow together into what may just be the most beautiful relationship either will ever know? A beautiful, emotional tale that broke my heart time and again, but in the end healed it too.
Finding Him is such a phenomenal read. You will love the changes in Julian with this one. If you read Stealing Her the first book in the Covet series then you know the back story of Julian and Bridge. This is Julian’s time to heal and discover how to love again. The emotions are high in this one because Julian is not the only one trying to heal. Keaton once you meet her your heart just wants to reach out and take the pain on with her. As her story comes to life you grow to love her so much. Keaton and Julian are so entwined that it is not surprising that their souls reach out to each other and help them both heal and find a way to move on past all the pain they are facing. I love how gentle Julian is with Keaton as he helps her write her story. The love you feel between Julian and Keaton just radiates off the pages. By the end of Finding Him my heart was so happy. I couldn’t put this one down. Rachel Van Dyken has another winner with this one.
This is by far my favorite book by this author, it was an incredible sad, but beautiful love story that will pull all of your heartstrings! I cried, laughed and swoon over these characters for the entire book, I didn’t want the book to end.
This book (like all this authors stories), has heart, wonderful characters and an interesting plot. I enjoyed most of the story and found it entertaining. This is a really sad story wrapped around romance but I did have trouble connecting to the characters. I enjoyed the plot and think the author did an amazing job of getting these characters through their angst. I simply didn’t care for either of them. There are steamy scenes and romance within the heart and pain so the author did a nice job of balancing out that sadness.
I read and loved Stealing Her and think that this story is a great complement to that read. It wraps up the “other side” of the brother’s story and I really enjoyed that aspect. I think if I had read these together, back to back, then I would have liked this story more. I do recommend this story to readers as I think others will very much enjoy the story. I received an ARC via NetGalley and I am leaving my honest review.
Omg what a heartbreaking rollercoaster of a book. I couldn’t put it down once started. I had so many emotions reading this book. And Julian finally won me over.
I loved Julian and Keaton together, they may have met under heinous circumstances but they fought through their grief and found each other.
I highly recommend this duet.
I’m honestly really lost for words and it took me a while to figure out what I want to say to do this book justice!
You can tell by the words written how much heart and soul the author put into the story!
There was many a moment I felt so many emotions go through me and quite a few where I was reading with tears in my eyes!
We learn about Julian in Stealing Him, the first book in this series! I really think he has redeemed himself in this book!
Can a person change after something life threatening happens?
Keaton was a woman that I just wanted to give a big hug to. She was lost, trying to live but not quite there yet. Can opening up about things that happened really help her see her worth?I loved how they both brought out complex sides of each other! Learning, talking and helping each other, will there be hope for them both?
I loved every aspect of this book! It touched my heart something big and some of the words were inspirational!Definitely a must read!
Rachel is a pro at grabbing your undivided attention and refusing to let go. Finding Him is about Bridge’s twin brother, Julian. Julian is struggling with life and acceptance of the death of his mother. Feeling alone in the world and forced to take a mental vacation, Julian heads to the family cabin. Unfortunately, when he gets there he discovers a knife-wielding Keaton. After losing her boyfriend, she needs an escape. From their chaotic kismet, you are taken on an exhilarating rollercoaster ride of emotional proportions. This is a story about love, love of many kinds and levels. A love that requires work, recognition, and embracing. Finding Him pulls at the heart-strings, tugs at the heart-break, and amalgamate the broken heart. A poignant read at finding a love worth fighting for.
I was given a free copy via Netgalley in exchange for my honest review.
