New Adult Contemporary Romance – Recommended for readers 18+ due to mature content***Finding Dandelion, the second book in the Dearest series, is a standalone novel.*** When soccer all-star Jax Avery collides with Dani Hart on his twenty-first birthday, their connection is instantaneous and explosive. For the first time in years, Jax isn’t interested in his usual hit-it and quit-it approach.But … hit-it and quit-it approach.
But Dani knows better. Allowing herself a night to be carefree and feel the intensity of their attraction won’t change anything when it comes to dealing with a player. So when Jax doesn’t recognize Dani the next time he sees her, it shouldn’t be a total shock. The fact that he’s her new roommate’s brother? That’s a shock.
Dani doesn’t regret that night with Jax, just the need to lie about it. Since her roommate has made it clear what she thinks about her brother’s “type” of girl, the last thing Dani wants is to admit what happened.
Jax knows he’s walking a fine line on the soccer team. One more misstep and he’s off the roster, his plans to go pro be damned. Except he can’t seem to care. About anything… except for the one girl who keeps invading his dreams.
Despite Jax’s fuzzy memory of his hot hookup with his sister’s friend, he can’t stay away from her, even if that means breaking his own rules. But there are bigger forces at work–realities that can end Dani’s college career and lies that can tear them apart. Jax realizes what he’s losing if Dani walks away, but will he sacrifice his future to be with her? And will she let him if he does?

AMAZING Audiobook. Love it!!!
I love Lex Martin and the way she writes. A great follow up to Dearest Clementine. Dani and Jackson are heartwarming, I love the way Lex is able to weave these characters and the beautiful story.
* 4.5 Stars *
Finding Dandelion (Dearest #2) by Lex Martin is a standalone, new adult, sports romance told in dual point of view. While it’s not necessary to read book one, Dearest Clementine, to follow the story, doing so definitely enhances it.
Jax, Clem’s twin brother, is Boston College’s star soccer player on track to going pro. He’s rich, gorgeous, cocky, and known for being a complete man-whore. Dani, Clem’s new roommate, is beautiful, shy, and kind-hearted. Working her way through a bucket list to help her get out and live more, a one night stand is next on the list after she gets a tattoo.
Jax and Dani meet at a club and are instantly drawn to each other. Neither is aware of the other’s relationship to Clem. They end up having a steamy make-out session (and more) in a private back room but are interrupted before going all the way. While Dani is in the bathroom, an emergency call pulls Jax away from the club, leaving Dani confused about why he’d take off without saying anything.
The next time they see each other, Jax seems to have no recollection that they’ve ever met before. Dani is hurt and embarrassed but keeps it to herself. The last thing she wants is problems with her roommate Clem for being one of Jax’s hook-ups because she’s really not that kind of girl.
Circumstances keep throwing Jax and Dani together and they develop a friendship while both continue to hide their growing feelings for each other. Multiple misunderstandings threaten to keep them apart, but they eventually manage to work through it all and find their happy ending.
I thoroughly enjoyed this book – almost as much as the first. I laughed, I cried, I swooned. I couldn’t stop reading. Loved it.
I loved this book right now I’m into sports players and Jax I loved. Being inside his mind at times was seeing a little kid at Christmas, “all I can do is stare. “Who are you again?” Not only am I effing thrilled I’m not stuck here watching The Notebook or some other crappy-a**ed romance, this girl actually wants to watch a game.” He’s learning that Dani isn’t like other women, “I’m not used to seeing girls eat in front of me, and the fact that she seems so excited about the meal makes me grin.” Dani sure knows how to take her man’s attention, “her eyebrow pops up. “You know… we could always take a break at a rest stop.” My foot comes off the gas as the thought of ripping off her clothes overpowers my brain. I have to clear my throat to speak again.” I really loved Dani she had these ways to make Jax lose his brain, “she grins as she gets in my SUV. “I can’t wait.” I adjust myself in my seat, straining against my jeans. She’s reduced me to a horny teenage boy.” I really loved this book.
