Small town Holly Point wasn’t big enough to hold the dreams of golden girl Maggie Benson. So when she left at eighteen, she flew right through college and into the adrenaline-pumping life of a navy fighter pilot. But without warning, a devastating crash destroys the career she loves and sends her back to her overly protective family to heal. Maggie can’t imagine how she can reconnect with the … woman she was until the hot local high school basketball coach steps up to show her the way.
Former NBA star Will Fitzgerald knows how an injury can derail more than a career. Still, he’s happy with his life as a teacher and coach at Holly Point High School, until his quiet life is upended by the beautiful, brilliant, and hurting Maggie. Blindsided by the intense attraction, Will wonders if pursuing the woman of his dreams will answer the question of what’s been missing in his life.
Can Maggie trust enough again to let Will past her wounds, inside and out, so that they can both find the Christmas magic they’ve been searching for?

The get to the steamy part rather quickly – more than my taste prefers but otherwise a good story about acceptance of people with disabilities.
Fighter pilot Maggie Benson has returned to Holly Point after realizing she needed more. More than just therapy and pain. She needed a sense of normalcy, what better time to be with family and friends than the holidays.
Will Fitzgerald was a rising NBA star when his career ended in a freak accident. Now he is a teacher and basketball coach in Holly Point. He meets Maggie at a football game where her brother Matt, is pretty much the star of the show. Matt plays all the sports and excels in all of them. Will however didn’t expect to be swept off his feet by this beautiful, strong woman who invites him to join their family for Thanksgiving dinner.
When Maggie and her friends go out, she runs into Will at the bar, he not so subtlety persuades her to help him with some kids he’s coaching for Paralympics. Of course being a bar, there was a drunk jerk and while she handled him well, he hit an emotional trigger.
Over the course of just a few weeks, between friends and family Maggie starts to feel at home both mentally and physically. Her interactions with Will become more of a relationship than not as Christmas draws near.
There is a lot of love and emotion in this book as well as a simmer to sizzle romance. We also see folks from the first book, it is a small town after all.
Laughter, tears, mistakes and so much love. A perfect Christmas read with just the right amount of sizzle.
Love this story. What a great story about overcoming tragedy and heart ache. Great characters.
True love can bring you through the roughest times in your life. Maggie and Will found each other at a time they both needed. Maggie, trying to be so independent, wasn’t looking for love but needed it. I hope there is a follow-up. I want to know if her dream comes true.
A navy pilot who was injured comes home to overcome trauma and finds a love that can heal her.
Female fighter pilot loses a leg when shot down and plane misses aircraft carrier deck. Although quite beautiful physically, she is haunted by the accident, fear that her dreams of a family of her own are not to be. When she meets former NBA player who had to give up his dream because of an accident, things begin to change for her future. Enjoyable read.
Maggie is an admirable woman who has been dealt a blow when her fighter jet is shot down. After 2 years of rehab, she returns home at Thanksgiving and meets her brother’s high school football coach. It is not an easy love story but they make it work.
Bad language and sex
This book was a cliche hallmark book. They fall in love quickly and say cheesy things to each other. This book was more monotonous inner dialogue than actual dialogue. This book also needs editing.
Great storyline! Wonderful characters!
My new favorite author! I have read the whole series and can’t wait for more.
I really loved this book. Great characters and storyline. Was really hard to put down but so easy to get right back in it when I picked up where I left off at.
This is a lovely story and such a happily ever after.
Very good book about PTSD and how real it is.
Thought provoking
nice and romantic, good characters, humorous
I actually didn’t finish this book. I’m basing my rating off of my feelings than actual content of the entire book. Following a book review I purchased this book believing it only had a few choice words. Well just in the first chapter it had more than I wanted. I proceeded thinking I would give it a shot and it continues with the language. So I stopped. Without reading the rest of the book it’s hard for my review to be a complete and accurate. What I read was written well and it seemed as if it would have been a great story I just wished the language wasn’t there. That’s my preference.
Enjoyed reading this nook. Held my interest, read this book in one sitting
This is one of the best books I’ve read in a long time because it was different. It was new love. Not a couple with a past love come back. There are SO MANY of those now.
Thank you for giving me some real reading enjoyment. And when it gets here, Merry Christmas!
Wow! Reading this book had me running the gamut of emotions! I appreciated the realism in this story, the poignant situations, and the beautiful hearts of the characters. Excellent character development, great plot, and fun along the way. Another MUST READ!
