I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and I have voluntarily left this review.
This is sweet, romantic and interesting. Luther is determined, bold, unassuming and protective. Diana is independent, bold, stubborn and strong. Diana has been in love with Luther for years, but knew that she was too plain to catch his eye. Luther had always thought of Diana as a pesky child, until he saw her at a ball one night. Luther decided then and there that he was going to marry her, he just needed to convince her. She had plans of her own, ones she knew Luther would not approve of, but he unfortunately found out about, and blackmailed her into courtship with. They both have strong personalities, but love is stronger.

This was an awesome story! I really didn’t want it to end. It was quite riveting. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book in exchange for a free copy.
This is a sweet, fun and emotional historical romance. I liked Luther and Diana and really enjoyed seeing their relationship grow. I am posting a voluntary, honest review.
This is the second book by this Autor that I have read and I have enjoyed both books. Diana would rather fence than go to Balls but she has found a way to have the two work together. She meets Luther Wright, Earl of Northesk and has feelings for him but will she be honest with him in her enjoyment of fencing? Diana has been in love with her neighbor Luther for years even though he didn’t notice her until recently when he decided Diana is the one he wants to court and marry. But in the years since he last saw her, she has made a life for herself with her ladies club Fortuna’s Parlor and fencing matches. I didn’t like that he was judgmental about women fencing and she was willing to give it up to be with him. They both have to overcome their pride and prejudices to find happiness together.
Find Me Love is a fun romp with a very interesting premise. The heroine, Diana, grows up in a moderately well to do family. Her father’s land neighbors the Earl of Northesk. She and our hero, Luther, basically grow up together.
Luther’s father dies and he goes into a downward spiral. In the meantime, Diana matures and becomes a lovely woman. She also (for the time) is very independent. She befriends Lulia, a gypsy woman, and learns how to fence. Time passes and she and Lulia open a gambling hell just for women and women fencers. Luther sees Diana again and falls in love. Diana is not so sure. They agree on a fortnight of courting and he won’t tell her father about her business. She agrees and trouble ensues.
Pros: Even though the concept is highly improbable for the time period, it was fun and refreshing to have women fencers. We do have to suspend disbelief but then again, we don’t know everything about that time period do we??
Cons: My usual complaint. So, so many sentences ending incorrectly with prepositions. Or poor use of prepositions ex; “Diana scrunched her nose up” instead of “Diana scrunched up her nose”.
Modern verbiage like “re-evaluate his life choices” or “limited timeframe”. And ‘time-frame’ needed a hyphen. “be quiet” instead of “oh, do be quiet”.
Just poor writing. ex: “Lady Diana had grown up in the years he’d been away. She was still a little girl in his eyes, and she would remain so”. Two completely disparate ideas with nothing to join them.
Redundancy within the sentence.
Using ‘fete’ instead of ‘feat’
Why would Diana not be ‘normal’? I think a better word would be ‘conventional’.
“Can I help you?” instead of “May I help you?” or even better, “How may I be of assistance?”
How did Luther know that Diana’s nickname was Lady Di? He was never around her as a friend.
Diana was written as Lulia in one spot.
“Holton’s mother and hers were twin sisters (so related) and they’d grown up as close as siblings.” YA’ THINK?!?? What does this sentence even mean?
Like many other readers, I very much dislike leaving a poor review. However, I just can’t get past the poor technical writing and plot holes. It feels as if the writer is just churning out stories to get them published and there is NO editing. Or maybe the average reader doesn’t care about proper writing technique, they just want a fast story to kill some time. Or maybe I’m too picky. I don’t know. I just know it’s very frustrating to see books of a low technical caliber being put out for sale and someone expecting them to be purchased.

A story of a strange type of love. As neighbors the h and H did not grow up together. When they were a little older, they were barely acquaintances. The h did not feel she was a great beauty and had garnered little attention at balls. She accepted that she was a wall flower and on her way to spinsterhood. Then she discovered fencing and for the first time became alive. She loved learning and she was good at it. Her parents ignored her for the most part and she was on her own while in London while they lived in the country. She had several good friends she relied on. The H had come into his title after his father died while he was on his grand tour. His father’s dying wish was for the H to marry the h. But at that time, he felt nothing for her and thought her the last person he would marry. For six years he lived with his grief of losing his father by living a debauched life style. One evening he was on his way to being totally foxed he decided to go to a ball, change his life for the better and find a wife. At the ball he recognized the h but did not remember her name. He admired the changes in her since the last time he saw her and knew in a heartbeat that she was the one for him. Now the h did not trust easily and thought he must be joking. The H had a lot to prove and he was determined to win her. Now the h had a secret life and the H found out. He was shocked that she took no precautions for her safety or reputation. This irritated the h. But the H used this to blackmail her into courting him for two weeks. Will the h make it easy for him to win her? Would the H take her freedom to pursue her interests away? Would the h ever be able to trust? An interesting story. 1/2
I read this story as part of a box set Scandal Meets Love: Volume One. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Find Me Love by Dawn Brower is a historical romance that I listened to on audio narrated by Price Waldman. This is the second book in the Scandal meets Love Series that can be read as a stand-alone.
I absolutely love Dawn’s books! They are a slow burning romance that just leaves you with a smile by the end. I cannot wait to dive into the next book in the series If It’s Love.
Price did a great job on the narration. I loved his accent it was perfect for Luther. I look forward to listening to more of his projects in the future.
I would recommend this book to anyone who loves historical romance or slow burn romances.
I loved that Lulia was such a present character in this book. The side theme of fencing was enjoyable too. Lovely characters with a rogue gentleman. Good moments.

This is a beautiful love story where two people who have known each other fall in love.
I loved how Luther persisted in his courtship of Diana and the dramatic climax of the story.
Price Waldman has a voice I could listen to forever and his narration together with the imaginative writings of Dawn Brower in this book go hand in hand to make this a recommendable success.
A strong and feisty heroin that knows what she wants. But because of the time period she is not meant to be that way. A nice story line and plot. I did not like that the story is forced and that is lacks depth. Would have liked more heart and romance in it.
A nice and short read.
Quite an okay read
The plot is good – a clean romance I would have to say. I am a historical romance fan, and this is my first time reading from the author. I have to say that I felt as if there are some lapses within the story or its just that the story is too fast paced that it sometimes jumps from time to time without so much ado as to what happened in between. As if there are some missing parts in the story. I’m a bit confused with some details in the story. How I wish the characters had more depth – especially the H and h romance. Maybe since this is not a full novel, that’s why its a bit lacking. Maybe, its just me and I’m expecting a bit too much – but I think that I have to have more in this story.
