Who is she if not a victim?
Gloria Parker walked away from a relationship that almost cost her her life. But the shame clings to her like a shadow. She’s wasted ten long years on the wrong man. When the right one returns home scarred and broken, she sees a kindred spirit. But as Gloria rebuilds her life, brick by brick, she wonders if she’s cut out for love. Real love.
Will they find a way to heal together or will their wounds keep them from the happiness they both crave?
Publisher’s Note: Finally Mine is the companion novel to Pretend You’re Mine, Harper and Luke’s story. It can be read as a standalone.more
This book was blowing up my feed so I wanted to check it out. I know these characters are pretend but I can’t help being extremely proud of Gloria. Watching her fight her demons and winning, it’s pretty powerful. Aldo is pretty amazing too. Oh man his mother, she cracked me up. I really enjoyed this one.
I found ‘Pretend You’re Mine’ in October. Read it. Loved it. Thought to myself – I’d really like to know Aldo & Gloria’s story. Imagine how happy I was to find that I didn’t have to wait 3 years for their story! Mere weeks and ta-da! ‘Finally Mine’ fell right onto my iPad. Although not entirely necessary, it is most helpful to read ‘Pretend You’re Mine’ first, as much of this one parallels the timeline.
Well edited.
‘Finally Mine’ begins in almost the same spot as ‘Pretend You’re Mine’. In the parking lot of Remo’s, with Glenn attacking Gloria and Harper jumping in. We get more of the back story of Gloria, Glenn, and Aldo. We are reminded that Aldo has held a torch for Gloria for the better part of a decade. And while Gloria was not entirely immune to Aldo’s charms, Glenn dominated her life. Gloria finally reached her point of no return, and decided to leave Glenn. Which led to the parking lot at Remo’s. With Glenn in prison, Gloria begins to try to find her own life again. Aldo knows he finally has a window of opportunity, but he also knows Gloria needs to find her own way before they can find a life together. He lets her know how he feels and what he wants, and gives her the time of his deployment to begin her healing. Unfortunately, life isn’t always kind, and Aldo is hurt overseas. He comes home, dealing with both physical and emotional wounds. Gloria feels rejected until she begins to understand his emotional state. Will they be able to heal each other? Will they move past the damage of their past lives and find a bright future?
Ms. Score writes such wonderful characters. They are almost all people you’d like to have as friends and neighbors. Throughout this story we are reminded of what happens with Harper & Luke – as well as seeing their journey through the perspective of both Aldo and Gloria. There is humor, laughter, friendship, and deep family bonds. As with so many of her other books, Ms. Score leaves us wanting to visit the town, hit the diner (or the bar), and sit a while. Nothing better in the world. Enjoy!
OMG – I LOVED IT – Lucy has done it again. I thought my heart only belonged to Luke Garrison, in Pretend You’re Mine; but Aldo has taken a huge chunk of it for himself. I love him and he actually moved Carter Pierce (Blue Moon – book 1) a little to side too. Aldo and Gloria’s story was great and I loved how it involved Harper and Luke along with the crazy kitten. It was too much, I couldn’t put it down and kept rereading sections just for the hell of it. I can’t wait to read Linc’s story as I would love to see him with a new person in Benevolence and stop all that flirting around. Want to see that alpha side of him when someone flirts with his woman. This is a MUST READ, but please read Pretend You’re Mine first.
Lucy – thanks for finally writing this book and I’m glad you have considered to write one for Linc – can’t wait!!!!
What to say about this book… That first chapter grabbed me and wouldn’t let me go. So much emotion was packed into the first bit and it continued. Each word had a purpose, was full of emotion. You couldn’t help but cheer for Gloria. God, I fell in love with her. She’s so strong and resilient and amazing. And Aldo. GAH!!! I loved him. He was the perfect book boyfriend.
Lucy Score writes amazingly. I highly, highly recommend Finally Mine. I can’t wait to see what Lucy comes out with next!
Gloria and Aldo!
I was truly looking forward to Finally Mine! I loved Gloria and cheered her on from getting out of her abusive marriage, to embracing Aldo and their new relationship.
I felt déjà vu throughout this book, and that’s because the book runs concurrently to Pretend You’re Mine. But the viewpoint is different, so it was new, even when I felt I’d read it before. I haven’t read books that plot concurrently, and I found I wasn’t a big fan. However, Lucy Score writes characters with real depth and I found if I pretended I hadn’t read Pretend You’re Mine, I enjoyed this one more.
I’m looking forward to reading Lucy Score’s next book in this series!
